After that, I weigh what makes a switch worth the effort. A free start you can use before cancelling anything. A paid plan priced near what you pay now. Features you may be missing, like images, video, voice calls, group chat and memory. And the fine print: the refund rule, the cancel path and the name on your statement.

The order weighs those facts together with my own opinion, and none of it rests on hands-on scores. Where a point comes from reviews elsewhere, I say so. An app lower down isn't worse for everyone, just a less common fit for someone leaving CrushOn AI. If stories matter more to you than a companion, my roleplay app rankings weigh things differently.

I wouldn't count on your chats moving with you, so write down the personality details and memories you want to rebuild. And give the new app a fair run of several evenings before judging it. That makes it easy to try before you cancel anything. Reviews describe the roleplay as well-paced and character-driven and say few apps give away as much for free. Not everyone is happy, though: a 2/5 Trustpilot score comes with complaints that the AI repeats itself and makes logic errors.

If you pay, keep it cheap. Get a Taste is $60 a year or $5.95 monthly, and it adds a memory manager on top of dropping ads and queues. I'd only move up to True Supporter at $19.95 for unlimited in-chat images plus 8K context, and reviews warn the same character can look different in every picture. Im All In at $29.95 brings 32K context and text-to-speech.

Subscribers are told in advance if the price rises, which I appreciate. Once you've used the account, fees can't be refunded, and cancelling runs from Profile > Manage Subscription to the payment platform. The charge reads NDAI.CHAT. Of all the free AI alternatives to CrushOn AI here, it's the one I'd trust to stay useful.

The reason to switch is memory. Reviewers put its chat at the top of their comparison, and after roughly 500 messages it builds a Mind Map of you by itself, which keeps its memory proactive. If your current app keeps forgetting you, this is the fix I'd try first.

The reason to hesitate is pictures. According to reviews, its pictures are picked from a ready-made gallery rather than prompted, they often decline adult requests, and image-to-video is slow, around 2 minutes a clip, with weak results. Voice calls lag 15-20 seconds.

Paying is optional. Standard comes in three billing options, $15.99 a month, $39.99 a quarter or $99.99 a year, and each one adds voice calls, unlimited messages, 40 image credits daily, and room for 10 Nomis and 10 group chats at once. Paid plans are cheap if you commit: €13.99 for one month, €26.97 for three, or €47.88 for a year, which comes to €3.99 a month. Reviews rate its voice among the most expressive, and the builder lets you set her ethnicity, looks, personality, voice and hobbies, handy when you rebuild a character you're leaving behind.

Two things may feel like a step back. The free start is up to 5 messages in total, so you can't try it for long before paying. And unlike CrushOn AI, adult content is paid-only here. Memory is also reported to hold for about 10 to 20 messages. Outside the EU and UK, refunds close 24 hours after payment, and the charge reads EverAI.

The cost of switching is the free start. Signing up is free and the free plan lists 55 Dreamcoins, but OurDream's help pages say there are no free Dreamcoins by default, and a 2026 retest by one reviewer describes the old free tier as effectively gone. You'll likely judge it on a paid month.

That month is $19.99 on Standard Monthly. If it clicks, Standard Annual at $119.88 comes to $9.99 a month. Deluxe Annual at $359.88, or $29.99 a month, adds 5,000 Dreamcoins, 100 minutes of voice calls, 50 videos and 3x chat memory. I'd hold off on Deluxe until you know you'll use it.

The catch: other reviewers report that voice calls burn through coins, and one scored them 3.6/5 mainly for that. Video is called uneven but a genuinely surprising extra. Reviews make one point about chat that matters for a switch: Joi AI mirrors your texting style well, and paid chat is described as warmer and better at holding context than free. If your old companion started to feel flat, that's the reason to try it.

Free is only a preview: 10 Neurons, 6 lifetime images kept for 7 days, and you can begin building a character at no cost. No free-chat cap could be found, but the free chat is described as stiff, so a fair verdict needs one paid month.

What gives me pause? Once Premium is activated it's generally non-refundable, with exceptions such as proven card fraud. Miss a renewal payment by more than 7 days and you're moved down to Basic. Failed images still spend Neurons, and the charge shows as joi.com.

If you want a steady companion more than a character app, my girlfriend-style companion list is the better match.

Free accounts reportedly get 20 messages a day, every companion, basic memory and a single custom companion of your own. Four independent reviews agree on that daily figure, but no official page states it. There's a one-time 200 Moments for new sign-ups, about 4 images, and then the free plan adds none and sells none. Don't plan around free images beyond that.

Premium, billed $109.99 yearly or $19.99 month to month, unlocks unlimited chat, premium AI models, image and video generation, and 8,000 Moments monthly. Ultimate ($319.99 yearly, $39.99 monthly) brings group chats, personas, advanced customisation and 15,000 Moments. If group chat is something you'd miss, Ultimate is the plan you need, and that's a steep price for it.

Reviews like the voice: one calls it top-tier, another notes real-time transcription kept for continuity. Memory is rated average: fine in the moment, weaker over time. Images can drift, and video motion can look jittery.

The fine print is firm. Renewals are automatic, partial periods aren't refunded, and Moments purchases are final. Cancelling works through account settings or support, and access runs until your paid period ends.

For no cost at all, Nomi AI, SpicyChat and Secret Desires AI have daily free allowances you can plan around. Soulkyn is the outlier, with Deluxe at €49.90 a month. My advice: pay monthly for your first switch, and go yearly only once the new app has earned it.

Switching to pay nothing: Nomi AI gives 50 messages and 2 images a day, SpicyChat gives uncapped text on its Default model, and Secret Desires AI's free plan allows 30 messages and 2 images a day, according to the plan data on its subscription page.

Switching for a cheaper paid chat: Secret Desires AI's Pro at $7.99 a month gives you unlimited messages, voice features, image and video generation, and 100 Hearts a month. One review found 100 Hearts covered roughly a week of daily chat on a premium engine with a few images, so heavy users may prefer Ultra at $13.99 with 200 Hearts.

Switching for pictures and video: Joi AI's Premium is $13.99, OurDream AI's Standard is $19.99 or $9.99 a month yearly, and Secrets AI's Premium is $19.99 or $9.17 a month yearly. DreamGF's intro Annual Membership comes to $5.99 a month, with 100 tokens each month and faster image generation, though reviews say its pictures arrived as watermarked portraits on plain backgrounds.

Switching for everything at once: Soulkyn's €49.90 Deluxe covers the 70B chat model, images and voice with no caps. JuicyChat's Deluxe at $43.99 brings 30,000 coins and Pro models with up to 64K memory.

Joi AI is the gentler switch: $13.99 a month for a warmer paid chat with about 50 images and 5 videos, but no refunds once Premium starts. My read: SDAI, NDAI.CHAT, EverAI and S LABS INC. give the least away. And keeping a final cancel confirmation, as Secret Desires AI suggests, is a habit I'd apply to every app on this list.

The chats themselves are harder to judge. In any privacy policy I'd want three answers: whether your conversations feed AI training, whether deleting your account wipes your history, and whether anything is passed to advertisers. Few apps answer all three plainly. Reviews give Secrets AI the best privacy marks of the group, which counts if discretion is why you're moving.
