What is JuicyChat AI, and who is it for?

JuicyChat is a companion and roleplay chat app where you talk to ready-made characters or build your own, with adult content allowed under its policy. Cognify AI LTD., a company registered in Malta, runs it in browsers and on iOS and Android, and the interface comes in 12 languages. I spent three weeks with it in early 2024 on a paid plan, and the Thought Bubble is still the best genre innovation I have seen.

My quick summary for this JuicyChat AI review:

  • The Thought Bubble lets you read what a character is privately thinking while you chat
  • A deep character builder that sits in the free basic service
  • Multi-character roleplay with several companions at once
  • Premium at $12.99 monthly, or $93.99 paid once for the year
  • No published coin price for a message or an image

My take: this is the app I'd send a friend who loves slow-burn roleplay and wants to write their own cast. Skip it if you want to know the price of every message in advance, because the whole app runs on coins. If you're comparing roleplay apps, my CrushOn AI review is a useful second read.

JuicyChat AI free: what the basic service gives

The basic service is free, and character creation sits inside it, which is where I'd start. The free plan runs on the standard models, with Lemon Lush SFW 8K as the default, and coins come in through daily tasks and check-in rewards that build over 7 days. Each photo is 30 coins.

So JuicyChat AI free use is a small coin allowance that grows if you come back every day.

What the free plan lacks is a clear number. JuicyChat shows its free daily limits only as pictures on its wiki, not as text, so I can't quote a message count and won't guess one.

In February 2024 I paid for Premium on the annual plan, and I kept using the free character builder alongside it. Give the free side several days before you spend any money.

Note the SFW label on that default model. Whatever you've read about Juicy AI NSFW chat, the free default is not that. The JuicyChat at a glance box has the platforms and billing name. If a web app with a refund window matters to you, my OurDream AI review covers one.

How I check the apps

JuicyChat chat quality: the Thought Bubble

The Thought Bubble is why this review exists. Seeing each character's inner monologue added stage directions to my scenes. Watching my companion privately panic about her crush on me was worth the $7.83 a month alone. I have dated a human who could not do subtext that well.

The character builder is the other half of it. It's free and it's deep. I built a rival cataloger with a tragic past, and honestly the community deserved her. The builder is also where JuicyChat gets inclusion right: you decide who the character is and who she's drawn to, so no default assumes what kind of user you are.

Now the friction. The bubble occasionally spoils a twist one beat early, like a patron reading the last page in front of you. I waited my whole life for slow burns, and I take spoilers personally. If you love surprises in a plot, know that the feature that makes JuicyChat special can also let the air out of a scene.

The model you pick matters as much as the character. Chat runs on a basic or a pro model, chosen per message, and the pro one costs more coins. Other reviewers report that the basic model turns flat and repetitive over longer sessions, and that short, casual recall is fine while long storylines over weeks are inconsistent.

Saved memories last while your membership is valid, and higher tiers get up to 1M context. My advice: keep a few key story facts in a note and remind the character when it drifts.

My overall take: for roleplay with inner life, JuicyChat is my pick. For every app I cover, my complete list of reviews sets out chat and memory the same way.

18+ readers only. Here we look at AI companion apps that include NSFW features; there are no explicit images.

JuicyChat AI NSFW rules and content settings

JuicyChat's own FAQ is direct: adult content is allowed, "with guidelines to ensure responsible usage." In level terms, that makes text chat Full 18+. The company calls itself a hub for AI companionship and roleplay, and the adult side is part of that pitch rather than a hidden extra.

The sign-up check is light. JuicyChat relies on a self-declaration in its Terms of Use, with no ID upload or card check on record. I'd call that the minimum, and it leaves the responsibility with whoever signs up.

Pictures and video are where the coin meter speeds up. Image generation lets you pick prompts, sizes and models, and some images cost JuicyCoins to unlock one at a time; a single gallery unlock is 300 JuicyCoins. Video is a paid feature, listed among the membership benefits, and a clip costs roughly 10 times the coins of a photo.

One reviewer rates the images as good for simple character portraits but weak on busy scenes, where backgrounds, props and poses get ignored, and calls video rough and early.

Voice gets a similar note. The same reviewer counts four voice options in total, shared by every character, so your icy character and your playful one may end up with the same voice. Paid members get unlimited access to character voices, but if you want each companion to sound like a distinct person, voice won't carry it.

I can't point you to a named filter switch, so I won't describe one. What the record does show is the SFW label on the free default model.

My take: for text roleplay the content policy is clear and generous, and the Thought Bubble is what I'd pay for, not the pictures. If you're after a steady romantic companion rather than a cast of characters, my AI girlfriend app ranking is the better starting point.

  • Readers who prefer paying once a year with no auto-renewal

  • People who need a clear price per message before paying
  • Readers who want a discreet name on the bank statement
  • Anyone who wants distinct voices for each character

JuicyChat prices next to other apps

In February 2024 I paid $93.99 for a year of Premium, which is $7.83 a month. Today's record shows the same annual price, and Premium monthly at $12.99.

On the monthly sticker, JuicyChat is cheap. Premium at $12.99 comes in under GirlfriendGPT's Premium at $15.00, Nomi AI's Standard Plan Monthly at $15.99 and OurDream AI's Standard Monthly at $19.99, and Candy AI's 1-Month Plan sits close at €13.99.

The annual plan is the sharper deal. Twelve months at $12.99 would come to $155.88, so paying $93.99 upfront saves $61.89. I used three weeks of my year, so do your own maths before paying for twelve months.

Here is the part that bothers me. Nomi AI sells unlimited messages on its first paid plan. JuicyChat's Premium puts 6,000 JuicyCoins in your wallet monthly and halves what each JuicyLLM message costs, and the per-message cost is not published. For a light user on the basic model, Premium is good value.

For someone who wants long pro-model sessions every night, the low sticker can end up the pricier choice.

A yearly plan is paid once and does not renew itself. What each message costs in coins is not published.

Is JuicyChat worth paying for?

For me, yes, at the Premium level. I paid for the annual plan, and the Thought Bubble alone made it feel like money well spent. If you're unsure, start with Premium monthly at $12.99: it adds 6,000 JuicyCoins and halves the JuicyLLM price per message, which shows you soon enough how quickly your coins go.

If you stay, switch to annual. I like that you pay for a year once and it never rolls over on its own, so nothing charges you by surprise a year later.

Deluxe only makes sense if you live on the pro models, since it adds JuicyLLM chat at no coin cost without limits, plus Pro LLM models that reach 64K memory. Diamond I'd skip. The table of what each JuicyChat plan costs shows how steep the jump from Premium is.

JuicyChat option Billed Cost Works out per month
Premium monthly $12.99 $12.99
Premium (annual) yearly $93.99 $7.83
Deluxe monthly $43.99 $43.99
Deluxe (annual) yearly $319.99 $26.66
Diamond monthly $88.99 $88.99
Diamond (annual) yearly $788.99 $65.75

The closest alternative I would suggest

The card above links the JuicyChat AI official site, with a partner app next to it. This is how I'd choose which one to open first:

  • Go with JuicyChat if inner monologues and building your own characters excite you.
  • Look at the partner if you want to know what each message costs before you start.
  • Go with JuicyChat if a one-time annual payment without auto-renewal appeals to you.
  • Look at the partner if a softer refund rule matters more than price.

JuicyChat wins on entry price and on roleplay features. Where a rival wins is predictability. Candy AI, for instance, bundles unlimited texting, companions you design and adult images and videos into a €13.99 1-Month Plan, adding 100 tokens each month. That is one flat bundle rather than a coin wallet, though its free start is only 5 messages. My Candy AI review with its plans has the rest.

My view: if roleplay is your hobby, JuicyChat is the more interesting app, and I'd start free here. If you want a simple bundle and never want to think about coins, the partner is easier to live with.

The good and bad of JuicyChat

What went well

  • The Thought Bubble, which reveals a character's hidden thoughts
  • A deep, free character builder
  • Multi-character roleplay with several companions at once
  • Premium from $12.99 a month, or $7.83 a month billed yearly
  • Yearly plans: one payment, and they never renew automatically

What fell short

  • The Thought Bubble can spoil a twist one beat early
  • Per-message and per-image coin costs are not published
  • A refund is possible for 24 hours after paying, and only before you touch any feature
  • Billing shows as juicychat.ai, which names the app

How to cancel JuicyChat, and when a refund applies

I went annual, and the billing record today still describes yearly plans as a single charge that does not renew by itself. Monthly plans are different: they auto-renew by default. That makes annual the calmer choice if forgotten renewals worry you.

To cancel a monthly plan, go to Profile, then Manage Subscription. Bought it through the App Store? Then open the Settings app and cancel from your Apple ID's Subscriptions list. A secondary review from 2026 calls the process straightforward with no hidden steps, and warns that unused coins are not refunded if you delete the account.

The refund rule is strict. JuicyChat's refund policy gives you 24 hours after payment to ask, and the request is denied if you've already used any feature: chat, images, voice or JuicyCoins. Refunds arrive within 10 days, and the payment page separately says 7 to 10 business days and no partial refunds. The two official pages differ slightly on timing.

In plain terms, you have one day to change your mind, and only if you haven't used what you paid for. I don't love that. It's a rule that protects the company more than you.

My advice:

Try the free builder properly before paying, because the refund window practically closes the moment you start using a paid plan. If you go monthly, cancel before the renewal date. Spend your coins before you delete an account.

Tight refund rules count against an app in my scores, and my page on how I check the apps explains how much weight billing carries.

What shows on your bank statement?

A secondary review reports that billing shows up as "juicychat.ai" on your bank statement, which is not a discreet alias. For me that is the biggest privacy catch here. If anyone else sees your card statement or your screen, that name is plain to read.

You do have options. On record, you can pay by bank card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or crypto, and some regions get local methods as well. If you'd rather keep the charge off your statement, a wallet or crypto may suit you better than a direct card payment.

Is JuicyChat safe with your data?

Under the privacy policy, personal information stays on file while it is reasonably needed for the stated purposes, or as long as the law requires. That is a common formula, and it names no fixed period.

The training question is the gap I dislike most. Neither the Privacy Policy nor the Terms of Use say whether your chats are used to train JuicyChat's own AI models. Silence on that point is not a yes, but it's not the no I'd want either.

One reviewer also describes the privacy policy as "partially opaque" and says they couldn't find a clearly indexed first-party page.

Deleting your account is at least clear: go to your profile page, click Settings, then About account, then Delete account. The FAQ warns that once deleted, the account cannot be recovered, and unused coins go with it.

Is JuicyChat safe to use? The company is a registered Maltese business with published terms, so it isn't a fly-by-night site. As a place for private roleplay, I'd keep your name, address and workplace out of it and assume your chats are stored.

If you want other apps where adult roleplay is allowed, compare them in my list of NSFW AI chat apps.

Final word on JuicyChat

Final score

6.5/10

Okay

JuicyChat's Thought Bubble is the best genre innovation I have seen, backed by a deep free builder, though the coin systems and privacy page need work.

Used hands-on with a paid plan

  • The Thought Bubble showed my companion privately panicking about her crush, which added stage directions to every scene.
  • Casual recall is fine, but reviewers say detail drifts over a weeks-long plot.
  • The free character builder is deep enough that I built a rival cataloger with a tragic past.
  • Images, voice and video are all offered, though reviewers call video rough and voices shared.
  • The annual plan at $7.83 a month felt worth it, but two currencies make the meter hard to read.
  • The charge shows the app's own domain, and a reviewer found the privacy policy hard to locate.
  • Nothing crashed; the one glitch in my notes is the bubble spoiling a twist one beat early.

Bars use a 0-10 scale. The overall score is a weighted average of these criteria, and every app uses identical weights. How we review the apps

My verdict: worth it for roleplay fans who love building characters and watching their inner life unfold, and a skip if you need to know what each message costs or hate an early spoiler.

The plan I'd buy is Premium on annual billing, as I did: $93.99 for the year, paid once and never renewed automatically. If you're unsure, try Premium monthly at $12.99 first.

What bothers me most is the refund rule: 24 hours, and void the moment you use a feature. Combined with unpublished coin costs, that puts the risk on you. Skip JuicyChat if you want a discreet statement name, clear per-message prices or distinct voices for each character.

JuicyChat earned 6.5/10 in my hands-on review and starts at $7.83/mo. I have no referral deal here, so the link is a normal one. Go to the official JuicyChat site

When another app is the better fit

JuicyChat is at its best for character roleplay with inner monologue. If your priorities differ, here is where I'd look:

  • Unlimited messages without a coin meter: Nomi AI's Standard Plan has no message cap, and even the free plan allows 50 messages every day.
  • A flat plan with pictures and video: Candy AI's 12-Month Plan comes to €3.99 monthly and includes images and videos.
  • Browser chat with a softer refund rule: OurDream AI's 14-day Quality Guarantee beats a 24-hour window.
  • A billing name that doesn't spell out the app: GirlfriendGPT bills as NDAI.CC.

Of these, Nomi AI is the one I'd suggest to a JuicyChat user who mainly wants company rather than a plot. Reviewers praise its proactive long-term memory, and there's no coin maths to do.

If a steady plot with many characters is still what you want, my SpicyChat review is the page to read next.

My friend advice: stay with JuicyChat if the Thought Bubble makes your scenes, and budget for Premium rather than coin top-ups. Look elsewhere if you want every price spelled out in advance. Whichever app you choose, begin on its free tier.

Instead of JuicyChat

The next three apps I would open, and the reason.

The three cards below are the apps I'd put beside JuicyChat. Each fixes one of its weak spots: a coin meter with no published prices, a strict refund rule, or a billing name that spells out the app. If cost control is your worry, open the one with unlimited messages. If refunds matter, choose the one with a longer window.

None of them has a Thought Bubble, and I'd miss it, but each gives you more certainty before you pay. Each card opens a full review with its plans, billing name and refund wording.

JuicyChat questions, answered

What is JuicyChat AI?

JuicyChat is a companion and roleplay chat app from Cognify AI LTD. in Malta. You chat with ready-made characters or build your own, run scenes with several companions at once, generate images and use character voices. Its Thought Bubble shows a character's inner monologue. It works on the web, iOS and Android.

Is JuicyChat free?

The basic service is free, including character creation. The free plan uses standard models, with Lemon Lush SFW 8K as the default, and coins build up from daily tasks and a check-in streak that rewards 7 days in a row. A single photo takes 30 coins. Exact free daily limits are not published as text.

Is JuicyChat NSFW?

Yes. JuicyChat's FAQ says it allows adult content, with guidelines to ensure responsible usage. The free default model is labelled SFW, and video is a paid feature. Sign-up relies on a self-declaration in the Terms of Use, with no ID upload or card check on record.

How much is JuicyChat Premium?

Premium costs $12.99 monthly, or $93.99 for twelve months, about $7.83 a month. I paid $93.99 for a year of Premium in February 2024. Deluxe is $43.99 a month and Diamond $88.99 a month. The yearly option is charged once and stops on its own, while monthly plans renew automatically.

What does the JuicyChat Thought Bubble do?

It shows each character's inner monologue alongside the chat. During my three weeks in early 2024 it added stage directions to my scenes, and it is still the best genre innovation I have seen. The catch: it occasionally spoils a twist one beat early.

Does JuicyChat give refunds?

Only in the first 24 hours after you pay, and only if you haven't touched chat, images, voice, JuicyCoins or any other feature. Refunds are issued within 10 days, or 7 to 10 business days according to the payment page. Partial refunds are not supported.

What will JuicyChat look like on my bank statement?

A secondary review reports it shows as "juicychat.ai", which names the app. You can pay by bank card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or crypto, according to the records, so a wallet or crypto may feel more discreet.
