What is CrushOn AI, and who is it for?

Late 2023 was my daily-coin era: seven weeks on CrushOn AI, and I spent $0 the whole time. CrushOn AI is a companion and roleplay chat app from TECHIEPIE LTD in Cyprus, launched in 2023, where you chat with characters from a large library or write your own from scratch. It runs on the web and Android, adult content is allowed as a policy, and it makes no pictures or videos on request.

I came for the free coins and stayed for the character builder. It let me write a witch down to her exact job, her apartment and her reading taste, and I respected that level of detail on principle. I work as a library technician, so a tool that lets me catalogue a character properly wins me over fast.

Who I'd happily send here:

  • Anyone who wants a lot of chat on a small budget
  • People who like to draft a full character sheet before saying hello
  • Readers who want to shape the companion themselves instead of accepting a default
  • Anyone content with text and no pictures

My take in one line: one of the most generous free starts I know for pure chat, with a strict no-refund rule once you pay. To weigh it against a rival with in-chat images on its paid plans, my CrushOn AI vs GirlfriendGPT comparison puts the two side by side.

CrushOn AI free tier limits in 2026: coins, credits and coffee

My whole seven weeks ran on the free plan. I claimed the daily coins with my morning coffee and kept the streak going, and that small ritual has outlasted my time on the app by years. The coffee stayed. CrushOn AI did not.

The free plan today reads a little differently from my coin days. A free-tier check dated 2026-09-22 shows 100 monthly message credits, topped up with coins you earn from daily tasks, and the plan lists unlimited Free models, 8K memory and no group chat. Credits are spent only on the Pro and Ultra models, at 1 per reply, while the Free models cost nothing on any plan.

Quick math: 100 credits buy 100 Pro-model replies a month, which is fewer than 4 a day. So the credits are a tasting menu, and the Free models are the meal. CrushOn Coin stretches it further: you earn it through daily login, character creation and referrals, and it redeems 1:1 for bonus messages.

My view: this is an honest free start, not a five-message teaser, and the at-a-glance facts show the billing and platform details in one place. If spicy roleplay is your main reason to shop, my ranking of NSFW AI chat apps shows how this free plan stacks up.

How I check the apps

How does CrushOn AI chat feel day to day?

Here is my honest friction point. The unmetered Free models are generous to a fault, and they ramble like a textbook nobody assigned. Looking back, I simply wanted her to stay a witch. That tells you where my loyalties fall: women first, witches always.

So my advice is about steering, not about the price. The character sheet is your best tool for keeping replies in character, because a character written in detail gives the model less room to drift. A Reddit comment quoted by one review makes the same point: output quality depends on how carefully the user writes the character card. I agree with that completely.

The model list itself is uneven. Other reviewers report that many of the listed chat models are buggy, outdated or not working, so finding a good one takes trial and error. One hands-on tester also saw replies repeat even with a "reduce repetition" setting switched on.

I'd spend the 100 monthly credits on the Pro models first and settle on one before thinking about a paid plan.

Memory is the part I'd keep expectations modest on. Three hands-on reviews describe it as scene-level: it holds a conversation together but does not reliably carry details across days. One planted-detail test found a trip forgotten after about a week, though the character did not invent a false memory either. I'd call that fair for the price, not impressive.

The plans do raise the ceiling: 8K memory on the free plan, 16K memory models from Standard up, and 24K on Elite and Imperial.

Who does this affect? Anyone hoping for a companion who remembers last Tuesday. If that is you, keep a short summary in the character sheet. If you're choosing between two big character libraries, my CrushOn AI vs Janitor AI breakdown compares how each one handles long roleplay.

CrushOn AI NSFW policy: what the content level really is

CrushOn AI allows adult content as a policy, and it does not hold it back for paying members. My own verdict from those seven weeks is short: filter-free delivers what it promises. I like an app that says what it allows and then actually allows it.

Still, "allowed" is a policy, not a promise that every scene flows. Published reports point both ways. One reviewer set a character to unfiltered and still saw it refuse some topics, and user complaints on a public ratings site mention filters triggering on innocent roleplay.

A second review went the other direction and described very light moderation, with a character carrying on a self-harm-referencing story with no warning at all.

My read is that the level is permissive and the behaviour depends on the model and the character card. That second report is also why I'd say this plainly: if you are going through a hard time, a lightly moderated chat app is not the place to lean on. Talk to someone you trust or a local support line.

For comfort and inclusivity, the builder is what I rate highest. You write the companion you want, with personality, backstory, appearance and an opening scenario, rather than picking from defaults that assume one kind of user. Target Play is there too, an opt-in system of goals and points, though one reviewer found it did not track points reliably, so I wouldn't build a scene around it.

The interface comes in 15 languages, and the FAQ says a character can be asked in chat to reply in another language.

Group chat is the other fun extra: several cards in one room, each keeping its own voice, on the paid plans. And if a character suddenly stops answering mid-scene, my CrushOn AI down checker is the first place I'd look before blaming the filter.

Who CrushOn AI suits

Great for

  • Chatting a lot while paying little or nothing
  • Writers who enjoy building a detailed character sheet
  • Group roleplay with several characters in one room, on a paid plan
  • Anyone who wants adult content allowed on the free plan too

Skip if

  • Anyone who wants to generate images or video
  • People who want a refund if the plan disappoints
  • Readers who need a companion to recall details weeks later
  • Anyone who prefers short, snappy replies over long ones

CrushOn AI pricing: the plan I'd pick today

I never paid CrushOn AI anything, so this section is my read of today's price list rather than a receipt. My seven weeks in late 2023 cost $0, and a lot of people could honestly stay free for good.

If you do pay, the ladder is long. Standard, Premium, Luxe, Elite and Imperial each come monthly or yearly, and mostly they change one number: message credits, from 2,000 a month on Standard to 125,000 on Imperial. On top of any membership sits the Chat Package (Pro models), which gives unlimited, credit-free access to the Pro models.

My pick is the $5.99 monthly Standard plan, because it brings exactly what the free plan lacks: 2,000 credits, the 16K memory models and group chat. Premium at $14.99 only makes sense if you regularly run out of those 2,000 Pro replies. Luxe adds adjustable reply length, which is tempting given how much the Free models ramble, but I'd fix that in the character sheet first.

What I'd skip: Elite at $89.99 and Imperial at $199.99. Paying that much for more of the same text chat makes no sense to me.

Free models cost no credits on any plan; credits pay for Pro and Ultra replies at 1 each. Standard monthly is where I'd start.

Is it worth paying for?

For most people, only the bottom rung. The plan table makes the climb clear, and in my view the value falls as the price rises.

Here is the math I'd do before paying. Standard yearly is $58.88, or $4.91 a month. Twelve months of Standard monthly at $5.99 comes to $71.88, so yearly saves $13.00. Premium yearly at $94.88 works out to $7.91 a month for 6,000 credits, which is the better deal for heavy Pro-model users.

But the refund rule changes my advice. Web billing offers no refunds and no partial refunds, so I'd start with one month of Standard and only lock in a year once you know you'll stay. Given how far the free plan went for me, try that first and let the rambling decide for you.

CrushOn AI option Billed Cost Works out per month
Standard monthly $5.99 $5.99
Standard yearly $58.88 $4.91
Premium monthly $14.99 $14.99
Premium yearly $94.88 $7.91
Luxe monthly $39.99 $39.99
Luxe yearly $299.98 $25.00
Elite monthly $89.99 $89.99
Elite yearly $799.98 $66.67

The closest alternative I would suggest

The box links to the CrushOn AI official site, crushon.ai, so you can go straight to the source, and the card next to it shows the closest alternative I can recommend. Here is how I'd choose between staying and switching.

Stay with CrushOn AI if these matter most:

  • Free models with no credit meter on any plan
  • A first paid plan at $5.99 a month
  • A character builder deep enough for a fully written witch
  • A billing name, CRUSHON SUB, that doesn't spell out the app

Look elsewhere if you want pictures. CrushOn AI has no on-demand image or video generation, and asking for one in chat just gets you text. Some character cards come with pre-made images added by their creators, but you can't request new ones.

My honest view is that CrushOn AI and the image-first apps are different purchases. One sells words, the others sell a face to go with them. If a companion you can see matters as much as the chat, my AI girlfriend app rankings weigh memory, voice calls and images across the field. If you mostly want to talk, I'd stay put and keep the money.

The good and bad of CrushOn AI

What went well

  • Free models are unmetered on every plan, including the free one
  • The free plan adds 100 monthly message credits, and daily tasks earn coins on top
  • A detailed character builder with personality, backstory, appearance and scenario fields
  • Standard costs $5.99 a month for 2,000 credits, 16K memory models and group chat
  • Adult content is allowed without a paid plan

What fell short

  • Makes no images or videos on request
  • Free models can ramble and drift out of character
  • No refunds or partial refunds on web billing
  • Memory holds a scene but not reliably a whole week

Cancelling, and the refund rule that bugs me

I never had to cancel. I stopped in December 2023 after seven weeks on the free plan, so there was no subscription to end. If you do pay, the cancel path depends on how you paid, so I'd note it down on day one.

On the website, the terms say to go to Profile, then My Subscription, then Manage, then Cancel Subscription. Bought it via the Apple App Store or Google Play? Then the cancel button lives in that store's subscription settings. Subscribestar and Paymentwall subscribers tap Manage Subscription inside the app, and it forwards them to that platform's own site.

Here is what sours it for me. For web billing, the terms rule out refunds of usage fees, and they also rule out partial refunds or credits for time you didn't use, mid-cycle cancellations or downgrades. Cancelling only stops the next renewal. You pay up front, and the plan renews every month on the date you first bought it.

There is also a chargeback warning: disputing a charge with your bank without going to CrushOn AI first can get an account or card blocked. Put that next to public complaints about double-charging and slow support, and I think the rule is harsher than it needs to be.

The softer route is the app store. The FAQ says Apple and Google subscribers use those stores' own refund process instead. If a refund route matters, paying through a store makes sense for that alone.

If you're comparing billing rules with an image-first app, my Candy AI vs CrushOn AI comparison sets both sets of terms side by side, and the page on how I check the apps explains where these facts come from.

Is your chat private?

A witch's job and apartment are fine to type into a chat app. Your own are a different matter, so this is the section I'd read twice. The privacy policy says content generated in chat is used only in a general way to train the company's models, and that chat content is not linked to specific users.

So your chats do help train CrushOn AI's models, just not tied back to your account, by the policy's own wording.

One review goes further and says chat logs and personal data are used for advertising too. No official CrushOn AI page confirms that, so I treat it as unconfirmed. Still, I'd chat as if it might be true.

Retention has no fixed number of days. The policy keeps data for as long as is reasonably necessary for its purposes, or as long as the law requires, which is vague for my taste. The FAQ adds a 3-day window: log back in within 3 days of deleting and the account comes back, and after that it is gone.

My advice: leave out your real name, your workplace and anything you'd hate to see stored. Fiction is safer than confession here.

What will your bank statement show?

The charge reads CRUSHON SUB. It is short and doesn't describe what the app is, which I think most people will find discreet enough. Payment options are wide: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, the Apple App Store, Google Play, Subscribestar and Paymentwall.

If privacy is the thing holding you back, my list of each CrushOn AI alternative worth a look lets you compare other apps with the same kind of chat before you pay anyone.

Final word on CrushOn AI

Final score

5.3/10

Uneven

CrushOn earns its keep with a deep character builder and a generous free tier, but rambling models and shaky support keep it mid-table for me.

Used hands-on with the free plan

  • Filter-free as promised, but the free models ramble like a textbook nobody assigned.
  • Holds a scene well enough; reviewers found details slipping over days.
  • The builder let me specify my witch's job, apartment and reading taste.
  • Voice replies exist, with no image or video generation on record.
  • Daily coins and unmetered free models make the free tier generous; paid tiers climb fast and refunds are refused.
  • No retention terms were found, and reviewers report chat data used for training, unconfirmed by the company.
  • Reviewers cite double charges, slow support and a menu of chat models that do not all work.

Bars use a 0-10 scale. The overall score is a weighted average of these criteria, and every app uses identical weights. How we review the apps

My verdict: worth it if you want long chats on a tiny budget and like writing your own characters; pass if you need pictures or a refund safety net.

Seven weeks cost me nothing, and the character builder still stays with me. The plan I'd buy, if the free plan ever felt short, is Standard ($5.99 monthly), for its 16K memory models, 2,000 credits and group chat.

What bothers me most is the refund rule: no refunds on web billing plus a chargeback warning, on an app with public double-charging complaints. Who should skip it? Anyone who wants to see a companion, needs memory across weeks, or wants chats kept out of model training.

Where I'd send you instead

My friction with CrushOn AI was rambling models, never money: I simply wanted my witch to stay a witch. Your reason to move on may be different, so here is where I'd point you, gap by gap:

  • You want pictures or video: Candy AI and OurDream AI both put image and video generation on their paid plans.
  • You want a steady daily allowance: Nomi AI's free plan never expires and gives 50 messages a day.
  • You want memory with more room: OurDream AI's Deluxe Annual plan lists 3x chat memory.
  • You want a way back if a plan disappoints: OurDream AI has a 14-day Quality Guarantee, decided case by case.

My honest take: none of these beats the CrushOn AI free plan plus Standard on price. You pay more for a face, a daily cap you can count on or a gentler refund rule. Pick the gap that actually bothers you before switching, because switching for its own sake rarely helps.

If you want to stay with text-first roleplay, CrushOn AI's closest rival is SpicyChat. My SpicyChat vs CrushOn AI comparison goes through free chat, plans and content settings for both, so the choice comes down to your taste.

Instead of CrushOn AI

The next three apps I would open, and the reason.

Those three are where I'd look first if CrushOn AI doesn't suit you, each covering a gap it leaves open.

Think of this page as a CrushOn AI wiki with an opinion attached: the facts, then my view of them. My last word is simple. Start free, spend the 100 monthly credits on the Pro models, and write your character in as much detail as you like.

Pay for Standard only if the free models leave you wanting more, and take it monthly first. For the rest of the apps I've written up, the full review index is the place to browse.

CrushOn AI questions, answered

Is CrushOn AI free?

Yes. I spent seven weeks on the free plan in late 2023 and paid nothing. Today the free plan lists 100 message credits monthly, coins from daily tasks, unlimited Free models, 8K memory and no group chat. The Free models never cost credits, on any plan. For a chat-only app, few free starts match it.

Is CrushOn AI safe?

It is run by a real company, TECHIEPIE LTD in Cyprus, since 2023, and the billing name is a plain CRUSHON SUB. My worries sit elsewhere: the privacy policy lets chat content train its models in a general way, retention has no fixed limit, and public complaints mention double-charging and slow support. I'd use it, share nothing personal and read the refund rule first.

What is CrushOn AI's best model?

No single best model is named in what's on file, and I won't guess one. What is clear is the pricing: the Free models are unmetered on every plan, while the Pro and Ultra models cost 1 credit per reply. The Free models rambled for me, and many listed models are reported as buggy or outdated, so spend your free credits sampling a few Pro models.

How much does CrushOn AI cost?

Standard is $5.99 monthly or $58.88 yearly, and Premium is $14.99 monthly or $94.88 yearly. Luxe, Elite and Imperial climb to $199.99 a month, and the Chat Package for Pro models is $39.99 a month on top of any membership. My advice: stay free as long as it works for you, then try Standard monthly.

Are there any CrushOn AI codes or discounts?

I have no CrushOn AI codes on file, so I won't send you hunting for one. The real saving is the yearly plan: Standard yearly at $58.88 costs $13.00 less than 12 months of Standard monthly at $5.99. With no refunds on web billing, I'd only take the yearly plan once you're sure you'll stay. Coins from daily tasks are the other freebie.

Can I get a refund from CrushOn AI?

On web billing, the terms say no refunds of usage fees and no partial refunds for unused time or downgrades. For purchases made through Apple's App Store or Google Play, you ask Apple or Google through their own refund process. Don't open a chargeback first, because the terms say that can get an account or card blocked.

Does CrushOn AI make pictures?

No. There is no on-demand image or video generation, and asking in chat just gets text. Some character cards include pre-made images from their creators, but you can't request new ones. If images matter to you, look at Candy AI or OurDream AI instead.
