Legal notice

By Jerry Shlocks · Last reviewed 27 Sep 2026

Who runs this website

My Virtual Girlfriend (myvirtualgirlfriend.org) belongs to Jerry Shlocks, trading as a sole proprietor. In this notice "the operator", "I" and "me" all mean the same person. My details:

  • Operator: Jerry Shlocks
  • Address: 414 Luff Ln, Redwood City, CA 94065, USA
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Privacy requests: [email protected]
  • Governing law: the laws of the State of California, USA

My Virtual Girlfriend is a one-woman operation. Nothing sits above it: no parent firm, no group, no holding, and nobody on staff. The author named on the pages is me, the operator, so the person answerable for every sentence here is also the one who opens your email.

Sole proprietors like me have no company register entry and no VAT number, so neither appears here. If I ever move the site into a company, or anything else about that changes, I will update this notice with the new information and say from which date it applies.

Responsibility for the content

I, Jerry Shlocks, at the postal address listed above, am responsible for what this website publishes. That means all of it: reviews, lists, comparisons, guides, deal pages, status pages, and every trust or legal page, this one included. My author page tells you who I am and how I gather the facts the site prints.

You can read the full editorial rules on my editorial policy. The core of them fits in a few lines. Facts about each app live in a dated record, and pages print from that record.

Every review is built on my own dated notes, made while I had the app on the free plan or a paid one, somewhere between 2023 and 2026. Prices, plans and policies are taken from what each company publishes on its own pages and in its terms, and each fact keeps its check date. Reports from other reviewers are credited to them.

A label on each review tells you which kind it is, and no page invents a paid test.

Getting in touch with me

Email reaches me fastest: [email protected]. Letters go to 414 Luff Ln, Redwood City, CA 94065, USA. Writing about one particular review, price or statement? Include the page's address and I can find it straight away.

If your request concerns personal data, for instance seeing or deleting a newsletter address, send it to [email protected]. What I keep, why I keep it and how long it stays are all spelled out in the privacy policy.

I always welcome corrections and handle them before anything else, because an error in a price can hit a reader's wallet. The corrections page keeps a dated entry for each one. My contact page lists what else I can help with and what falls outside what I do.

Sending me something formal? Four details help me deal with it quickly: the page or pages involved, a sentence or two describing the problem, any link or document that backs it up, and how you would like my answer. Nearly everything works fine by email; a letter is there for when you want it on paper.

What kind of content you are reading

On My Virtual Girlfriend you get facts and my opinions about AI companion apps: what they charge, what their free tiers include, what their content rules allow, how they bill, what their privacy terms say, and what catches come with each. It is general information, written for adults. Please do not treat any of it as advice, whether financial, legal, medical or psychological. It also cannot replace reading the terms an app publishes before you pay.

Apps decide their own prices, allowances and rules, and they revise them all the time. I print a check date on every fact, and once a price is more than thirty days old I stop showing it. Still, an app can move its prices, plans or rules in between my checks, price the same plan differently by country, or put a different offer in front of your account.

The final say on what you are charged and what you receive always rests with the app's checkout and its own terms.

My verdicts, including who I think an app suits and who I think should skip it, are my opinion of the facts as they stood when I wrote the page, and I present them as opinion. When I pass along something another review site says about how an app behaves, I name it as their finding, not mine.

I work hard to keep everything correct and current. I cannot promise, though, that each fact is complete, right and current every minute of the day. As far as the law allows, the content comes without any warranty.

I am not liable for what you decide based on it, including anything you buy from a third-party app, unless the law says liability cannot be excluded, as with gross negligence or intent. Catch an error? Tell me, and I will fix it for everyone.

Nothing is for sale here. I sell no subscriptions, coins, tokens or products of any kind. Buying from an app puts you in a contract with the company that runs it, on its terms, so questions about charges, refunds, cancelling or getting into your account go to that company.

Links out to other sites

Pages here link to the apps I cover and, where it helps, to their help centres, terms, privacy policies and store listings. Other companies run all of those sites. I have no say over what they publish, whether they stay online or what they do with your data, and I am not responsible for them.

I look at a linked page when I add the link, to be sure it fits the text, but I do not keep watching it afterwards. Found a dead link, or one pointing somewhere unlawful? Let me know and I will take it out or swap it for a better one.

A share of these links earn me money: they are affiliate links. Join or pay for an app after following one, and that app may pay me a commission, and it never adds a cent to your price. Every partner link is tagged rel="sponsored".

My affiliate disclosure goes through the whole arrangement: what it may affect, for example the order of apps on some lists, and what it has no effect on at all, for example the facts a page prints about any app.

Trademarks and product names

Every app name, logo and product name on this site is a trademark or trade name of whoever owns it. I use them only so you know which product I am talking about. Mentioning them does not mean the owners back the site or have any connection with it, beyond an affiliate agreement where I state one.

The screenshots I show are of app screens and pricing pages, they support factual points about each product, and none of them shows people.

Copyright

I hold the copyright in the site's text, layout and design. You are welcome to quote a short passage if you link back to the page it came from. Anything bigger, such as copying full pages, publishing my content on another site, or adding it to a dataset or a different publication, needs my permission in writing. Plain facts, like the monthly price of a plan, are nobody's property, so use them freely.

Think something here breaks your rights? Email [email protected] and tell me the page, what the material is and why you believe it infringes. I will look into it quickly and take it down if you are right.

Things this site simply does not do

My Virtual Girlfriend is built from static pages. You will find no accounts, no comment threads, no chat, no checkout. I never ask for personal details before you can read. A web server has to handle some technical data to send you a page, and the privacy policy explains that.

Beyond it, the only personal data that can reach me is a newsletter email address you decide to give, plus anything you write to me. I run no ad networks and never sell or rent anyone's data.

Once the newsletter starts, signing up will be up to you. I will send it myself, every issue will have an unsubscribe link, and the privacy policy will describe it, together with any service I use to send it. Reading any page, or using any deal I list, will never depend on subscribing.

If an app gives you trouble

I cannot step in with an app for you, but I can tell you who to talk to. Charges, refunds, cancelling and account problems are for the company behind the app; its help centre or terms usually list a support contact. Bought through Apple's App Store or Google Play?

Then the store deals with the refund or cancellation for that purchase, not the app. Paid by card on a website and the app never replies? The bank or company that issued your card can walk you through disputing the charge.

Each review sets out what I know about cancelling that app, the refund rules and the merchant name on your bank statement, with the date I last confirmed them. If your own experience does not match what a review says, please write to me, so I can correct the record for the next reader.

Adult content and age

Some of the apps I write about allow adult roleplay. Nothing explicit appears on My Virtual Girlfriend itself, content policies are described in neutral wording, and pictures of people taken from these apps never appear. The site is meant for adults.

For the scope of the site, the way it names content levels and what it refuses to show, read the content notice.

What the review labels mean

Each review wears one of three labels saying how it came about. Two of them mark my own use of the app, "Hands-on test, paid plan" and "Hands-on test, free tier", while the third, "Desk review", marks a page built from documents alone. The site prints them from its records, and they state facts about my own work.

A label is not a rating, not a seal of approval and not an endorsement, and it tells you nothing about whether the company behind an app likes the page. Each reviewed app also has a score out of 10. That score is my opinion, formed from using the app myself and reading its official pages; it is no certificate or lab result, and it guarantees nothing.

Terms of use

The terms of use apply to your visit as well. They deal with using my content, the newsletter, links to third parties, how far my responsibility goes and which law governs. Where the two documents overlap, the terms hold the full wording.

Disputes and governing law

the laws of the State of California, USA governs this website and this notice, but if the law where you live gives you protections that no agreement can remove, you keep them. If you want to complain about My Virtual Girlfriend, come to me first; an old price or a dead link is usually sorted in one reply. I have no duty to take part in consumer arbitration proceedings, and I choose not to, because the site has nothing to sell to consumers.

A note on prices and deals

Prices are what readers lean on most, so here is one more word about them. Any price on My Virtual Girlfriend is the figure an app displayed on the date shown next to it, in the stated currency, for the region noted in my record. Your final amount can differ because of taxes, your bank converting the currency, introductory offers, prices that vary by region, or prices set by the app stores.

A coupon or discount I show was spotted on the date printed beside it, and the app can end it without notice, keep it for new customers only, or add conditions I have no way to see. Look at the total at checkout every time, before you confirm.

Updates to this notice

I revise this notice whenever my details change or the site starts working differently. The date at the top tells you when I last went over it, and I can email you an older version if you ask. Bigger changes, like a different operator, a new postal address or a new way for the site to earn money, also go on the corrections page, so regular readers see them.

A lot of legal pages look as if they were built never to be read. This one is short on purpose, with the important parts in plain words: who is behind the site, how you can reach me, what the site does and does not do, and where to turn when your trouble is with an app and not with My Virtual Girlfriend. If something here confuses you, write and ask me. When the same question reaches me twice, I add the answer to this page.
