The best NSFW AI story generator for your story and budget

One honest note first. Most of these apps are roleplay chat apps, where the story is written with you, message by message. That's what most people mean by an AI chat story. DreamGen is the one app here that lists story generation as its own category, and I'm glad that option exists.

Every app on this page allows adult content under its policy, Candy AI only on paid plans, but the free starts differ a lot, so I put them up front. If what you want most is as few content limits as possible, my list of uncensored AI chat apps is the better starting point.

• Making your own characters: a story needs a cast you shape yourself, so custom characters weigh heavily.
• Image generation: illustrated scenes are what many readers want, so apps that generate images rank higher, with video as a bonus.
• The free start and the price: how much you can do before paying, and the cheapest plan worth paying for.
• Memory: long stories fall apart when an app forgets.

If you want an uncensored AI writer, pick an app whose policy already offers the content level you want, rather than fighting one that doesn't. That's the honest route, and usually the cheaper one too. If you'd rather keep your stories plot-led and lighter, my list of AI chat roleplay apps is a good place to look.

On paper, free gets you text chat without a cap on the Default model, though ads and waiting lines can appear, 4K memory and replies up to 180 tokens. Images and voice are paid-only. As an AI chat story generator that's plenty for short scenes, but long plots will hit the memory ceiling.

The paid plans scale by context, which is what matters most for NSFW AI stories. Get a Taste at $5.95 drops the ads and gives you a memory manager. True Supporter at $19.95 takes context up to 8K and brings semantic memory 2.0, plus longer replies and in-chat images with no cap. That's my pick for serious story writers, but only after a month on Get a Taste.

The catch is quality control. A 2/5 Trustpilot rating is cited elsewhere, with complaints about repetitive replies and rushed scenarios, although other reviews call the roleplay well-paced and character-driven. Fees are non-refundable once the account has been used, so start free.

Skip SpicyChat if you want pictures on a budget. And if you're after a steady companion more than a plot, my list of the best AI girlfriend apps is the better fit.

The homepage puts short, medium and long-term memory at the centre, and other reviewers describe proactive recall, with a "Mind Map" the app builds on its own after roughly 500 messages. For a serial story that runs over weeks, that matters more than a big context number on a plan page. Paid accounts can also run up to 10 group chats, so several Nomis can share a scene.

The free plan is permanent: 50 messages a day, each up to 400 characters. That cap is tight for descriptive prose; paid messages go to 800 characters. Standard costs $15.99 a month or $99.99 a year, about $8.33 monthly.

Where it fits less well is illustration. Images are clothed-only on every tier and chosen from a ready-made set, not prompted. Now the honest limits for a story list. Adult content sits behind the paywall, and the free account stops at about 5 messages in total, so you can't draft anything real before paying. Memory is the bigger problem for plots: other reviewers say consistency lasts roughly 10-20 messages before details slip. Long, branching stories will need constant reminders, while short scenes suit it far better.

On the money side, the 1-Month Plan is €13.99 with unlimited text messages and 100 tokens a month, and the 12-Month Plan averages €3.99 monthly. Text costs 0 tokens, so the writing itself is covered; tokens go on pictures at 2 each, or 4 on the upgraded engine, and on video clips from 12 tokens. About 1 image in 8 is reported to show visible errors, with no free retry.

Refunds outside the EU and UK close after 24 hours or 20 tokens, so decide quickly. Skip it for long-form fiction. My Candy AI review has the full plan details.

The free start is a mixed bag. Character creation is free to start and you get 6 image generations, but they're lifetime, not monthly, and the images are stored for 7 days. Sign up free and your Neuron balance reads 10; I couldn't find any cap on free chat messages.

Other reviewers report that free-tier chat feels stiff and forgetful, while paid chat is warmer and holds context across a session. My take: use free to peek around, and don't judge the app by it.

The plan worth paying for is Premium at $13.99 a month. It adds better chat models, improved chat memory, one free custom-character creation and about 50 image generations a month. For a writer who wants pictures in the story, I think that's a fair price.

The catch is money back and misfires. Subscriptions are generally non-refundable once activated, and reviews say a failed image attempt still spends Neurons. Skip Joi AI if you only write text. The free start is thin. Sign-up and browsing are free, the account opens with 55 Dreamcoins, and each message costs 1 Dreamcoin. Other reviewers report that a free tier seen in 2025 was much thinner in a 2026 retest. My honest view: 55 messages is enough to meet a character, not to write a story.

The plan worth paying for is Standard Monthly at $19.99, with unlimited messages with any AI character, image and video generation and 1,000 dreamcoins a month. Standard Annual is $119.88, or $9.99 a month, which I'd only choose once a first month has won you over. Deluxe Annual adds 3x chat memory, which long stories would love, but at $359.88 a year it's a big step.

The catch is how fast coins go. Video is described as short and coin-hungry, and voice calls reportedly drain coins fast. On the plus side, the 14-day Quality Guarantee means you can request a credit, a replacement or a refund, decided per case.

The free tier gives access to all current AI models with limited monthly and daily credits and a 4,000-token context. The homepage calls it generous, but the free credit numbers aren't published, and reviews elsewhere say it runs out in an afternoon of use. I'd treat it as a sample of the writing, not a place to live.

The plan worth paying for is Starter at $7.83 a month: a 5,000-token context, 375 monthly credits and 45 extra daily credits. If your stories run long, Advanced at $19.35 triples the context to 15,000 tokens. That jump is the real reason to upgrade.

What I like most is the money side. You can cancel whenever you like and keep your paid access right up to the last day, and DreamGen gives prorated refunds, something too few apps do. The catch is the learning curve: the Scenario Wizard is praised, but new users need time, and one review saw a secondary character's name forgotten after about 50 turns.

Skip it if you want a chatty companion. For other categories, my ranked lists of the best apps are the quickest way in.

So why is it fifth? Price and fog. Free accounts exist, but Soulkyn's own FAQ says its ability to offer them is limited, and the landing page pitches premium as the way to get unlimited messaging with no daily limits. The exact free limits aren't published on any official page on record. I don't like buying blind, and that's what the free start asks of you here.

The one plan confirmed on the official pricing page is Deluxe at €49.90 a month, which bundles uncapped chat on the 70B model with uncapped images and voice. Video is pay-per-use in Souls on top. Third-party reviews in 2026 mention cheaper plans, Just Chatting at €11.99 and Premium at €24.99, but the official page doesn't confirm them, so I wouldn't plan a budget around them until you see them at checkout.

For long stories, memory is the weak spot. Reviews elsewhere say a scene stays together during one session, but threads don't survive over weeks, and lots of images burn through credits quicker than the advertised price implies. Opinions on the voice are split, from flat and monotone to decent. My read: Soulkyn suits evening-length scenes with lots of pictures, not a slow saga.

There's also no readable refund policy on record, which makes a €49.90 first payment a bigger leap than it should be. Skip Soulkyn if you want a clear free allowance or a cheap first month. If text stories on a small budget are your thing, my SpicyChat review shows a much gentler way in.

Joi AI runs on Neurons, OurDream AI on dreamcoins, JuicyChat on JuicyCoins and Secret Desires AI on Hearts, and that's where a cheap plan can turn into an expensive one. My rule: pay monthly first, and go yearly only after a month you enjoyed.

For text-first stories, the cheap end is close together. SpicyChat's Get a Taste is $5.95 a month, DreamGen's Starter is $7.83 with a 5,000-token context, and Secret Desires AI's Pro is $7.99 with unlimited messaging. Of those three, I'd pick DreamGen for pure story writing, because it's built around scenarios and offers prorated refunds.

Illustrated stories sit in a different band. Nastia AI's Basic is $11.99, JuicyChat's Premium is $12.99 with 6,000 JuicyCoins a month, DreamGF's Monthly Membership is $12.99 as an intro price, Joi AI's Premium is $13.99 and OurDream AI's Standard Monthly is $19.99. Chub AI has one plan, Mars, at $20 with unlimited multimedia generation.

At the top end, Soulkyn's Deluxe is €49.90 and JuicyChat's Diamond is $88.99.

What comes on top matters more than the sticker price. A photo on JuicyChat costs 30 coins. A failed Joi AI image still spends Neurons, according to reviews. And one report says 100 Hearts on Secret Desires AI covered roughly a week of chatting every day on a premium engine, with a few images.

My view: pick one app and one plan, not three trials at once. The table right after this, "The apps side by side", shows which apps offer images, video, memory and group chat, so you can see what the money buys.

Refunds settle it for me when the two feel even. Joi AI subscriptions are generally non-refundable once activated, while OurDream AI offers a 14-day Quality Guarantee that it judges request by request. So I'd call OurDream AI the safer first payment, and Joi AI the better value if you're sure.

• Not on record: DreamGen, Soulkyn, DreamGF and Chub AI have no statement name on file yet.

Who runs the app matters too, because different countries mean different rules. SpicyChat's company is in Montreal, DreamGF's in Bucharest, and Secret Desires AI's in Dover, Delaware, with an EU trading entity in Malta.

Whatever app you choose, keep your real full name, address and workplace out of your stories, and sign up with a separate email. That protects you whatever a privacy policy says, and it costs nothing. If discretion on your bank statement is your top need, I'd lean toward SpicyChat or Secret Desires AI.
