Eternal AI alternatives: 13 apps compared

Every app on this list combines companion chat, roleplay and image generation, and every one allows adult content under its policy, Candy AI on paid plans only. So the real differences are the free start, what pictures cost you and how the app bills you. That's what I focus on below.

One more thing: some of these apps sell passes you pay once, like Gening AI, while others renew every month. I flag which is which, because a surprise renewal is the fastest way to regret a switch. If you like the drawn style more than realistic pictures, my anime AI chat list is sorted for that.

• Same content policy: all thirteen allow adult content, Candy AI on paid plans only, so this one barely separates them here.

Where reviewers elsewhere report on memory, voice or image quality, I pass that on as their report, next to my opinion. If long, story-led chats matter more to you than pictures, my AI chat roleplay rankings are built around that.

My bias, openly: I favour clear free limits and fair refund rules, and I like apps that let you build the character yourself instead of assuming one kind of user.

What differs is the size of the free allowance and the price of pictures. If a free plan feels tight, the fix is a different plan or a different app, not a workaround.

It's a text-first switch, though. Free has no images or voice, 4K memory and replies up to 180 tokens. Get a Taste at $5.95 a month ($5.00 yearly) drops ads and queues and adds a memory manager.

Pictures start at True Supporter for $19.95, with anime or semi-realistic styles and custom prompts, and outside reviews say the same character can look different in each image. There's no video on file and no phone app, only the web.

The huge community library and a builder for your own characters make up for a lot. Refunds are for exceptional cases once the account is used, and the charge reads NDAI.CHAT.

The free plan is permanent and published: 50 messages a day, up to 400 characters each, no ads and 2 images a day. Standard costs $15.99 a month, $39.99 a quarter or $99.99 a year, which is $8.33 monthly, and adds unlimited messages, voice calls, group chats, 40 image credits a day and image-to-video clips of about 5 seconds for 6 or 10 credits.

The trade-off is adult media. Nomi's policy allows adult chat, but images are clothed only on every tier, and one review says they come from a ready-made gallery rather than your prompts. Voice replies are reported to lag 15 to 20 seconds. Payments aren't refunded for dissatisfaction, and the terms let Nomi use your chats to improve the system.

The real cost is easy to read. The 1-Month Plan is €13.99, the 3-Month Plan €26.97, and the 12-Month Plan €47.88, which is €3.99 a month, all with 100 tokens monthly. Outside sources put an image at 2 or 4 tokens, a short clip at 12 and a long one near 80, so video-heavy users will buy packs, reported from 100 tokens for $9.99.

Reviews describe the images as realistic, though about 1 in 8 is said to come out with visible errors.

The catches: the free start is up to 5 messages in total, adult content is paid-only, and memory is reported to hold for roughly 10 to 20 messages. Outside the EU and UK, a refund must be asked for within 24 hours. The statement reads EverAI, which gives nothing away.

Its free start is built around trying the pictures. You get 6 image generations, and they're lifetime, not monthly, with images stored for 7 days. Character creation is free to start and the account shows 10 Neurons. No free-chat message cap could be found, but reviews call free chat stiff and forgetful, so I wouldn't judge the chat before paying.

The single paid plan on file is Premium at $13.99 monthly, and it's a sensible one: roughly 50 image generations each month, better chat models, improved memory and a free custom character. Voice calls cost extra.

The catch sits in the details. Faces and eyes can stop matching the character, and Neurons go even when an image fails. Subscriptions are generally non-refundable once activated, and after 7 days with an unpaid renewal you're back on Basic. To cancel, open My Subscriptions in your account, which is simple enough.

Here's the money side. The one official plan is Deluxe at €49.90 a month. It covers endless chat with the 70B model, as many images as you like and voice, while video is charged per use in Souls.

Two cheaper tiers, Just Chatting at €11.99 and Premium at €24.99, show up only in 2026 third-party reviews, not on Soulkyn's pricing page. A free account exists, yet Soulkyn itself warns it can only offer free accounts to a limited extent, and no free numbers are published.

My take: €49.90 is a lot to pay without a clear trial, and I'd want to see a cheaper plan at checkout before committing. Reviews add that memory keeps one scene together for a sitting but loses it over weeks, that heavy image use eats credits, and that the voice ranges from flat to decent. The refund page itself couldn't be read, which doesn't help.

Skip Soulkyn if you're on a budget. If a steady one-on-one companion matters more than features, my AI girlfriend list is the better place to start.

The homepage promises a generous free tier, with basic features and messages each day, and you can start without a credit card. No official number is published, and secondary sources disagree, so I'd call it a trial of unknown length.

The plan I'd pick is Unlimited at $15.99 a month. That buys unlimited messages, 400 tokens daily plus 3,000 bonus tokens, as many as 5 companions and a 2,000-picture allowance. The yearly version is $99.95, or $8.33 a month, a fair deal once you're sure. Basic makes sense only if 200 daily tokens and 2 companions are plenty for you.

The catches are memory and voice. Reviews describe memory as a rolling window of roughly 50+ recent messages, with details from earlier sessions fading. Voice messages are decent when short and flatten when long, there are no voice calls, and voice cloning is labelled alpha. Pictures are stylised rather than photorealistic.

Nastia AI treats every purchase as final unless the law says otherwise or a technical error stopped delivery, and the statement shows NASTIA.AI ST-LAURENT.

The free start is a trial for new users that shows the basic features. DreamGF publishes no numbers, secondary sources describe a daily claim streak of free messages, and reviews say the free messages were gone before they could get a real feel for a character. Treat it as a look at the builder, not the chat.

The prices on record are intro prices: the Monthly Membership at $12.99 with 100 tokens a month, voice calls and messages, and faster image generation, the 3-Month Membership at $29.97 ($9.99 monthly), and the Annual Membership at $71.88 ($5.99 monthly). Once the first payment is through, a recurring cost applies unless you cancel, and I'd read that number carefully at checkout.

The catch is depth. Reviews say DreamGF is better at visuals than long, emotional conversation, and that the pictures were watermarked portraits on an empty backdrop that often ignored the request. Refunds are at the company's discretion.

Skip DreamGF if the conversation matters more than the look. For a free start that lasts longer, my free AI chat list has better options.

Start with the free plan, because it's clearer than most. The plan data on the official subscription page shows 30 messages a day, 2 images a day and a daily allowance of talk time, on the base chat engines, with no Hearts. That's a real daily habit, not a one-off trial, and I like that.

The paid plans are cheap for what they include. Pro costs $7.99 monthly and includes unlimited messaging, pictures and video, voice features, the Pro and Advanced chat engines, plus 100 Hearts every month. Paid quarterly it's $21.99, and yearly $79.99, or $6.67 a month.

Ultra at $13.99 adds voice cloning and 200 Hearts, and Max at $19.99 adds an experimental chat engine and 300 Hearts.

My pick is Pro, paid monthly for the first month. One review found 100 Hearts ran out after roughly seven days of everyday chats on a premium engine with a few pictures, so if you generate a lot, Ultra's 200 Hearts may be the more honest budget.

The catches are memory and voice. Memory reportedly drifts over longer conversations and across sessions, and one review saw a long roleplay hold for 25-30 messages before replies turned generic around message 35. Voice is called the weak point, with replies that can sound rushed and flat. There's no group chat.

Billing is tidy. The statement reads SDAI, which is discreet, and cancelling sits under Billing in Profile or Settings, where the official guide tells you to click through each confirmation screen and save the last one. That's good advice for any app.

Then look at the free rows: Kalon AI gives 50 coins on sign-up and 50 a day, Secret Desires AI 30 messages a day, and Dream Companion only 10 to 20 messages in total. Last, count the second currency: coins, chips, credits, Hearts, Neurons and Souls all buy extras on top. My rule: one month first.

Free starts vary. Kalon AI's FAQ says its free plan includes adult chat, with 50 coins on sign-up and a 50-coin daily reward. Secret Desires AI gives 30 messages and 2 images a day.

Gening AI allows chat without logging in, with 20 free credits a day per its price page, or 30 for logged-in users per its login dialog, at 2 credits a message. Lovescape offers chip-free text chat on its Lite model plus 80 starting chips. Dream Companion stops at 10 to 20 messages in total.

The paid entry points cluster between $7.99 and $19.99. Secret Desires AI's Pro is $7.99, Dream Companion's Premium $11.99 with 6,000 text messages, Nastia AI's Basic $11.99, Xeve.ai's Membership and Gening AI's 1 Month pass $12.99 each, Joi AI's Premium $13.99, Kalon AI's Monthly $19.97 and Lovescape's Premium $19.99. Soulkyn's Deluxe at €49.90 sits far above.

Yearly deals like Gening AI's 12 Months at $47.88 look tempting, but I'd pay monthly first, because refund rules here are strict: Kalon AI, Xeve.ai and Nastia AI call payments final or non-refundable, with a 14-day EU withdrawal right on Kalon AI and Xeve.ai.

My call: start with Joi AI. The price is a fraction of Soulkyn's, and the free images let you judge the pictures before paying. Move to Soulkyn only if you know you'll use voice and group chat every week, because at that price you should.

• Names that give it away: Nomi AI shows NOMI.AI, Joi AI shows joi.com, Nastia AI shows NASTIA.AI ST-LAURENT, and Xeve.ai bills as CURJay Web Developm. or CCBill.com xeve.ai.
• Not on record: Soulkyn, DreamGF, Kalon AI, Lovescape and Gening AI have no statement name on file yet, and Gening AI names no company either.
• Leaving cleanly: Nastia AI's cancel option sits in a Danger Zone under Membership, and Secret Desires AI's guide says to keep your final cancel confirmation. Gening AI's one-time passes need no cancelling at all.

Who runs the app matters too: Dream Companion is run by Miracle AI UG, DreamGF by DreamAI SRL in Bucharest and Secret Desires AI by Playhouse Media LLC in Delaware, with a Maltese entity.
