What is Xeve.ai, and what was it like on camera?

Xeve.ai is a browser companion site built around live AI video chat, where the character shows up on camera and answers with lip sync, gestures and action-based reactions, plus image and video generation paid with credits. It's run by Jay Web Development & Services in Germany, and the interface comes in 14 languages. I spent two weeks with it in November 2025 on the quarterly membership, $26.97, or $8.99 a month. In my notes it's simply "the video-call one".

My short version:

  • Membership is $12.99 a month or $26.97 for 3 months
  • Live video chat is the reason to come; lag can break the lip-sync
  • Credits pay for generation: 5 per image, 20 per video
  • The privacy policy says chats are not used to train AI models
  • Refunds are a firm no outside the EU withdrawal right

My take: the first time the face on my screen made eye contact while I talked, I froze mid-sentence, and I have never fully recovered from knowing I blinked first. Nothing in text-only apps does that. If you mostly want text roleplay, though, compare it with my CrushOn AI review, because the two put your money in very different places.

Starting Xeve.ai before you pay

The FAQ keeps it vague: you can look through characters and open their pages without paying, and "some actions can be tried without paying". No numbers are published. One review site reports 5 welcome credits and about 30 messages in total per free account.

My take: that's a taster, not a free tier you can live on. Around 30 messages will tell you if a character's style clicks, and it won't show you much of the video side, which is the whole reason to pick this app. I went straight to the quarterly membership, and I'd tell you to decide quickly too, rather than stretch the free bit.

Creating a character needs no payment, and I like that a lot. The FAQ calls it a structured character builder, so you can shape the companion you actually want before spending anything. For anyone who doesn't fit the default mould, building first and paying later is a real kindness.

The Xeve.ai at a glance box right after this sums up the plans, the platform and the billing name.

How I check the apps

Xeve.ai video chat: does it feel real?

At its best, startlingly so. In November 2025 I used the real-time video chat with lip-sync for two weeks. On screen, the character responds as you talk, moving its lips in sync, gesturing and acting things out, and voice replies come through ElevenLabs, which the privacy policy names. The first time that face made eye contact while I talked, 29-year-old me froze mid-sentence.

Talking out loud to a face at midnight made my apartment feel populated. That was either the feature or the warning, and a woman who lives alone with a cat knows the difference matters. My advice to a friend: enjoy the company, and notice how much you lean on it.

Then there's the catch. Latency breaks the spell. When the lip-sync lags, you're suddenly in a dubbed film about your own solitude, and I have watched enough foreign cinema to recognise the genre. My notes put it plainly: lag broke the lip-sync at times. For me, that's the main flaw.

On the chat itself, other reviewers report that conversations are lively and descriptive, and that faces stay consistent across photos. Consistent faces matter more than people expect; they're why a companion still reads as one person across a whole run of pictures.

Memory is the trade-off. Nothing official describes it, and one comparison site says long-term memory and story roleplay get less attention on Xeve.ai than on some other companion platforms. My two weeks were about the video, not about testing recall, so I'd treat it as an app for evenings you enjoy in the moment rather than a slow-burn story.

To see how other apps handle voice, video and memory, my full list of app reviews lays each one out the same way.

18+ readers only. Here we look at AI companion apps that include NSFW features; there are no explicit images.

Xeve.ai content level and the credit side

The content policy allows adult content, and nothing on record names a separate switch for it, so I'll stick to the level: this is an adult companion site, not an SFW one. What makes it different is where that level applies. Image generation, generated video and live video chat all live on the same platform, which is more than most apps offer.

How you pay for each part matters. Membership unlocks broader access to companion features, including chat and live video chat. Credits pay for generation-heavy actions: 5 per AI image and 20 per generated video. The official example pack holds 500 credits, which Xeve.ai says covers roughly 100 images or 25 videos. The maths checks out, and I like that the example is published.

Here's where my notes and the current docs part ways. When I paid, it felt like flat pricing with unlimited video on every plan, the fairest metering in the genre: $8.99, no anxiety math, and I appreciated the arithmetic for once. Today's pricing docs describe membership as covering chat and live video chat, while generated videos and images cost credits.

The word "unlimited" isn't in the current docs, so read mine as what I saw in November 2025.

My view: if seeing a companion is the point, few apps give you more of it. If you plan to generate lots of videos, budget credits separately, since one video costs as much as four images.

On comfort, the builder lets you design your own companion before paying, and the site speaks 14 languages, which makes it more welcoming than most. If you want a romantic companion with more focus on memory, my AI girlfriend app rankings put those first.

Who Xeve.ai suits

Great for

  • Anyone who wants live video chat with an AI companion
  • People who like to design a character before paying
  • Readers who care that chats are not used for AI training
  • Anyone who wants a statement line that doesn't describe the app

Skip if

  • Readers who want long-term memory and slow-burn stories
  • People easily thrown by lag in a live conversation
  • Anyone looking for a phone app rather than a website
  • Readers who want refunds outside the EU withdrawal right

What Xeve.ai costs next to other apps

Membership is $12.99 for one month or $26.97 for 3 months, which is $8.99 a month. The quarterly plan is what I paid in November 2025. Each includes chat, live video chat and a monthly allowance of generation credits, though the size of that allowance isn't published.

Credits sit on top. Packs are one-time purchases from $4.99, and the official example is 500 credits for $22.99. One review site saw 500 credits at $29.99 in the app, so sources differ, and I'd check the in-app price before buying.

Next to rivals, $12.99 is friendly: one month runs €13.99 on Candy AI, $15.99 on Nomi AI and $19.99 on OurDream AI. None of those offers live video chat as its core feature, and that's what you're really paying for here.

The catch is predictability once you generate a lot. A light user may pay only the membership, as I did. A heavy one will be buying packs on top. If you'd rather have images and video bundled into one plan with voice calls, my Candy AI review is worth a look before you decide.

Membership covers chat and live video chat. Images and videos use credits: 5 per image, 20 per video. Credit packs are extra, from $4.99.

Which Xeve.ai plan I'd choose

I'd start with the one-month membership at $12.99. It unlocks chat and live video chat, which is the reason to be here, and it's the smallest commitment. My own two weeks told me a lot about the video, so one month gives you plenty of room.

I went quarterly at $26.97 straight away, and I'd only recommend that if you already know the video side is for you. At $8.99 a month it's the better price, but refunds are off the table, so a wrong guess costs the full amount.

Hold off on credit packs at first and see how far the included credits go. If you need a pack, the smallest from $4.99 is the low-risk way to learn your own usage. Credits last one year from the day you buy them, so a giant pack you never use is money lost.

The refund docs also mention non-renewing one-time payments covering 30, 90 or 365 days. The table right after this lists each plan and its price.

The closest alternative I would suggest

The card above sets the official Xeve.ai site beside a partner app, and the choice comes down to video versus simplicity. My version:

  • Go with Xeve.ai if a live face on camera is the main thing you want
  • Go with Xeve.ai if keeping your chats out of AI training matters to you
  • Go with the partner if you want long-term memory and story roleplay
  • Go with the partner if you want generation included in one monthly plan

OurDream AI shows the other model. For $19.99, its Standard Monthly gives you unlimited messages, image and video generation, and a monthly allowance of 1,000 dreamcoins. Group chat and voice calls are listed too, along with a 14-day Quality Guarantee that is decided case by case, while refunds here are a firm no outside the EU withdrawal right. My OurDream AI review covers its plans in detail.

I think both are good apps for different people. Xeve.ai is the one I'd suggest to someone who wants to see and hear a companion react in real time, and who can forgive the odd lag. OurDream AI is the one for someone who wants a single plan and a story that builds.

The good and bad of Xeve.ai

What went well

  • Live AI video chat with lip sync and gestures, genuinely striking at its best
  • Image and video generation at a published credit price
  • Privacy policy says chats are not used to train AI models
  • Chat sessions deleted automatically twelve months after the last message
  • Creating a character needs no payment

What fell short

  • Lag can break the lip-sync mid-conversation
  • Credits on top of the membership for images and video
  • Subscriptions, one-time payments and credits are non-refundable as a rule
  • Web only, with no phone app on record

How to cancel Xeve.ai

The cancel path is published in the refund docs, and it's clear. Log in on the main page of xeve.ai, open My Membership in the left menu, then Membership Details, and click Cancel Membership. You keep access until the paid billing period runs out.

A subscription keeps renewing on its own until you cancel ahead of the next billing cycle. The one-time options (30, 90 or 365 days) never renew, which I like for anyone who'd rather not remember a cancel date. If I were starting again after my two weeks, that's the option I'd look at first.

Refunds are strict. The docs answer the question with "As a rule, no": nothing comes back for subscriptions, one-time payments or credits, and unused time isn't prorated. EU consumers have a 14-day withdrawal right.

Outside the EU, assume the money is spent once you pay, which is why I'd never buy a longer plan before you've had a proper evening on camera.

Credits have their own rule: they expire one year after purchase. That's generous next to monthly expiry, but it's still a deadline, so don't stockpile.

Payment is by card, handled through CCBill, which matters for the statement line I cover below.

My plan for a newcomer: start with one month or a one-time payment, buy credits small, and cancel a few days before the cycle ends, not on the last evening. Only the refund rule strikes me as harsh, and it pulls down the billing score; my page on how I check the apps explains how. The billing note right below has the renewal, cancel and refund wording in one place.

What Xeve.ai shows on your statement

The statement descriptor on record comes in two parts: "CURJay Web Developm.", then "CCBill.com xeve.ai". So the entry shows the German company or the payment processor, and may show the site's domain. It doesn't spell out what kind of app it is, which many readers will find reassuring.

If someone who shares your card knows the name xeve.ai, though, they'll recognise it. For card billing, that's about as discreet as it gets.

Is Xeve.ai safe with your conversations?

This is its strongest section. The privacy policy promises that conversations are never sold, never used for ads, and never used to train its AI models. That's a specific promise covering selling, advertising and training in one sentence, and I rate it highly.

Retention is spelled out too. Chat sessions are deleted automatically twelve months after the last message. Account data is kept until you delete your account, which you can do in account settings. Financial records follow German retention periods, up to ten years, which is normal for tax rules.

The third party is worth knowing about. The privacy policy names ElevenLabs for voice replies, so voice content passes through another company. With a feature that listens to you talk out loud, I'd keep that in mind.

My advice is still to keep identifying details out of your chats. A good policy is a strong start, not a reason to share your address. Delete your account when you're done rather than waiting for the twelve-month clock.

The company is a German business with a tax number on record, and access is by self-declaration with no ID check described. There's no launch date on record, so I can't speak to how long it has run. If adult text chat matters more to you than video, my NSFW AI chat rankings have stronger story-focused picks.

Final word on Xeve.ai

Final score

6.9/10

Okay

Xeve delivers real-time video chat at a flat, fair price, and when latency holds, it is uncanny company; when it lags, the spell breaks.

Used hands-on with a paid plan

  • Talking out loud to a face at midnight made my apartment feel populated.
  • Reviewers say long-term memory gets less focus here than on story-first apps.
  • A structured character builder is free to use.
  • Real-time video chat with lip-sync made eye contact while I talked, and I blinked first.
  • Flat pricing at $8.99 with unlimited video on every plan is the fairest metering I have seen.
  • Conversations are not used for training per its policy, and old chats are deleted automatically.
  • Latency broke the lip-sync at times, which snapped me out of it.

Bars use a 0-10 scale. The overall score is a weighted average of these criteria, and every app uses identical weights. How we review the apps

My verdict: worth it if watching and hearing a companion react in real time is the draw and privacy matters to you, and skip it if you want deep memory, a phone app or any refund safety net. My two weeks in November 2025 were the video-call ones: a face that made eye contact, an apartment that felt populated at midnight, and lag that now and then turned it into a dubbed film.

The plan I'd buy is the one-month membership at $12.99, then quarterly at $8.99 a month once you know the video is for you. What bothers me most is the refund rule: outside the EU, nothing comes back. Skip it too if a lagging face would ruin the evening for you.

Xeve.ai earned 6.9/10 in my hands-on review and starts at $8.99/mo. I have no referral deal here, so the link is a normal one. Go to the official Xeve.ai site

The closest alternative I would suggest

When another app suits you better than Xeve.ai

This app is built for live video and visuals. If that isn't what you want most, these apps cover the gaps:

  • Strong long-term memory: Nomi AI is praised for proactive memory and has a free plan of 50 messages a day
  • One plan with images and video: Candy AI lists both on its €13.99 1-Month Plan, plus unlimited text messages
  • Group chat and a refund window: OurDream AI has group chat and a 14-day Quality Guarantee
  • A phone app: Nomi AI runs on iOS and Android as well as the web

The difference with these picks is focus. They put memory, stories or bundled plans first, where Xeve.ai puts a live face first. Neither approach is better in general; it depends on whether you want to watch a companion react or build a long story with one.

For a big platform built around characters and roleplay, my SpicyChat review is a useful next stop.

My advice, friend to friend: if seeing and hearing your companion is the dream, this is one of the few apps built for it. If you'd rather have a companion that recalls you month after month, pick Nomi AI or OurDream AI and begin on their free start before paying.

Instead of Xeve.ai

The next three apps I would open, and the reason.

The three cards above are my picks to set next to Xeve.ai. Each fills a gap this page points out: long memory, bundled generation or a softer refund rule. Open the card that fixes whatever bothers you most and skip the rest.

If a live face on camera is the whole point for you, you may already be in the right place, lag and all. If memory or one price for everything matters more, one of these will suit you better. Every card leads to a full review with plans, billing and privacy wording.

Xeve AI questions, answered

Is Xeve.ai free?

Partly. Looking around the character pages costs nothing, and some actions can be tried without paying. Creating a character needs no payment. No numbers are published, but one review site reports 5 welcome credits and about 30 messages in total per free account. The live video side is what you pay for.

How much does Xeve.ai cost?

Membership is $12.99 for one month or $26.97 for 3 months, which is $8.99 a month. I paid for the quarterly membership in November 2025. It covers chat and live video chat plus a monthly allowance of credits. Credit packs are extra, from $4.99, with an official example of 500 credits for $22.99.

How good is the Xeve.ai live video chat?

At its best, striking: the character reacts on video with lip sync and gestures, and the first time it made eye contact while I talked, I froze mid-sentence. The catch is latency. When the lip-sync lags, the spell breaks, and in my two weeks that happened at times.

Does Xeve.ai use my chats for training?

No. Per the privacy policy, chats aren't sold, aren't used for ads and aren't used for AI training. Chat sessions are deleted automatically twelve months after the last message, and you can delete your account in settings.

What will Xeve.ai show on my bank statement?

On record, the card line reads "CUR*Jay Web Developm." with "CCBill.com *xeve.ai" after it. It shows the company or the CCBill payment processor and may include the site's domain, but it doesn't describe what the app is.

Can I get a refund from Xeve.ai?

As a rule, no. Subscriptions, one-time payments and credits all count as final sales, and unused time isn't prorated. EU consumers have a 14-day withdrawal right. Cancel through My Membership, then Membership Details, then Cancel Membership.
