AI romantic chat apps ranked for memory, voice and pictures

Joi AI is a strong pick for flirting. Reviews say its paid chat turns warm and flirty and matches your texting style, which is most of what romance is. Candy AI makes the top three partly on price: pay for the 12-Month Plan and it averages €3.99 monthly, plus voice calls that reviews call expressive.

All ten apps here are companion apps with memory and some form of voice or pictures. That's the bar. If a looser content policy matters more to you than romance, my uncensored AI rankings are built for that.

Can you hear her voice on a call, and can she send a picture? Apps with all four come first.

Then the practical side. What does the free start really give, and does the app publish it? What does the cheapest plan with voice and memory cost, and do coins or tokens sit on top?

And last, the part nobody thinks about on a first date: the name on your bank statement, how you cancel and whether a refund is possible.

The order weighs these facts from each app's official pages, with outside reviews covering what those pages leave out, such as how memory holds up. It isn't built on hands-on testing, and I'd rather be upfront about that. How I check the apps explains where every fact comes from.

If you want the lowest yearly price, Candy AI. If discretion on your bank statement matters most, Secrets AI. And if you want a free romantic AI partner to talk to every day, Nomi AI. The other four, Kindroid, Soulkyn, EVA AI Soulmate and Uncensy, sit in the tables.

Memory is where the plans split. Free keeps 4K of context and caps replies at 180 tokens, which suits quick flirting more than long evenings together. Get a Taste, at $5.95 a month or $5.00 a month billed yearly, adds a memory manager that saves the details that matter, and it removes the ads and the queue. For a romance, that's the plan I'd look at first.

The limits are real, though. No plan lists live voice calls; the closest is spoken replies through text-to-speech on Im All In at $29.95. Pictures start at True Supporter for $19.95, and outside reviews say one character can look different from picture to picture.

Free users may wait in line at peak hours, and once a paid account has been used, refunds are rare.

After around 500 messages, it builds an automatic Mind Map of what it has learned, without you having to ask for one. That's the closest thing on this list to a partner who remembers.

It also has one of the best free starts here. The free plan is permanent: 50 messages a day, up to 400 characters each, no ads. That makes it the free romantic AI I'd point a friend to first, because you can build real rapport before spending anything.

Standard costs $15.99 a month or $39.99 a quarter, and the $99.99 annual bill comes to about $8.33 monthly. For that you get unlimited messages of up to 800 characters, voice calls, as many as 10 Nomis at once, group chats and 40 image credits a day. For a romance with voice, that's the plan, and the yearly price is fair once you know she's worth keeping.

So what holds it back? Pictures and voice. Other reviewers report that you can't prompt your own pictures, only pick from a ready-made gallery, and that voice calls lag 15-20 seconds between message and reply. For a romance built on hearing her voice, that lag is a real cost. One reviewer also waited as long as three days for a checkout payment to clear.

Refunds aren't given for lack of use or dissatisfaction, and you must cancel before the period renews. Billing shows as NOMI.AI, which is plain enough for most people.

The free start is tiny. On paper you get 5 messages, once, and they never refill; a check on 2026-09-22 counted 3-5 messages plus 3-5 images, with no video. That's enough to see her face, not to fall for her.

The price is where Candy AI wins. The 1-Month Plan is €13.99, the 3-Month Plan €26.97, and the 12-Month Plan €47.88, which is €3.99 a month. Whichever plan you choose, texting has no cap and you get 100 tokens every month.

I like the yearly price, but I'd start monthly: outside the EU and UK you get only 24 hours after paying to ask for a refund.

The real catch for romance is memory. Reviews say it holds for roughly 10-20 messages and can then drop details in longer chats, and free replies are much slower than paid ones. If being remembered is the whole point, that hurts. Adult content is paid-only here.

The free start won't show you much of that. You can join and browse for free, but each message costs 1 dreamcoin, and the help centre says free dreamcoins aren't handed out by default, even though the plan list mentions 55 to start. My advice: don't judge the romance on the free tier.

For most people I'd pick Standard: $19.99 a month, or $9.99 a month on the $119.88 yearly plan, with unlimited messages and 1,000 dreamcoins a month. If voice calls are the heart of it for you, Deluxe Annual at $359.88 is the plan with voice minutes built in, but that's a big step.

The catch: reviews say voice calls burn coins fast, even generating images during a call that nobody asked for. That's the part I'd watch. The 14-day Quality Guarantee helps if the app disappoints.

Skip it if you want a romance that costs nothing. If price matters more, my Candy AI review shows the cheaper route.

The free account is a preview. You get a balance of 10 Neurons, 6 lifetime image generations kept for 7 days and free character creation, and no chat cap is published. But reviews call free chat stiff and forgetful, so a romance started on free will undersell the app.

Premium - Monthly at $13.99 is where it comes alive: improved memory, better chat models, one free custom character, and about 50 images and 5 videos a month. Voice calls are paid, and reviews rate the live video calls as low latency when they work.

The catch is the money rules. Subscriptions are generally non-refundable once active, a failed image still costs Neurons, and a renewal that still hasn't gone through after 7 days sends the account back to Basic. Billing shows up as joi.com.

Skip it if you want to stay free. If the romance you have in mind is mostly adult, my NSFW AI chat list is a better match.

The romance side is solid. It has memory, voice calls that one review rates top-tier and another says keep a real-time transcript for continuity, plus images and video on paid plans. Memory is average, though: fine over a short span, and in a week-long test it got the facts right while keeping less of the fine detail that the top apps hold on to.

The free plan gives 20 messages a day with all companions and basic memory. Premium costs $19.99 monthly (or $109.99 if you pay annually) and adds unlimited messaging, 8,000 Moments and image and video generation. That's the plan I'd pick. Ultimate at $39.99 adds group chats and personas, which a one-to-one romance doesn't need.

The money rules are firm: no partial refunds, and Moments purchases are final. You can cancel any time in account settings.

Nomi AI's Standard plan, for example, includes voice calls, while on OurDream AI the voice minutes sit on Deluxe. Then look for coins, tokens or Neurons on top, since pictures and calls often spend them faster than the plan price suggests.

Coins on top of a plan. OurDream AI's Standard includes 1,000 dreamcoins a month, and reviews say calls drain them. Secrets AI's Premium includes 8,000 Moments. Candy AI's plans include 100 tokens a month.

If you mostly text, the plan price is close to your real cost. If you call every night, it isn't.

Paying per message. EVA AI Soulmate charges 2 Neurons to read a "romantic message", even in chat. I don't like that at all: it puts a meter on exactly the part of the app you came for. Joi AI also uses Neurons, and a failed image still spends them.

Flat and predictable. Nomi AI's Standard at $15.99 includes voice calls and 40 image credits a day, and Uncensy's Spark at $7.99 includes unlimited chat, images, video and voice with 50 diamonds a month. Kindroid sells extras as packs, such as 500,000 audio credits for $14.99, which is at least honest about what voice costs.

My take: if you want to hear her and see her, and you'll plan around coins, choose OurDream AI. If the words matter more than the extras and you want a lower monthly bill, choose Joi AI. What the records do show:

• The bank statement. Candy AI bills as EverAI, Secrets AI as S LABS INC. and OurDream AI as DREAM STUDIO LLC AL, none of which names a companion app. Nomi AI shows NOMI.AI and SpicyChat NDAI.CHAT.
• Anonymous options. Secrets AI has an anonymous sign-up and crypto payment option, and scored 8.5-9/10 on privacy in two independent reviews.
• Where you cancel. To change or cancel EVA AI Soulmate, you go back to wherever you bought it, the app marketplace or its website. Candy AI cancels under Settings / Unsubscribe.
• Same company, two apps. Joi AI and EVA AI Soulmate are both run by Novi Limited, good to know if both are on your phone and want to think about where your data sits.
