Talkie AI, my podcast era

Talkie AI had four months of my ears, spring into summer 2026, and I call it my podcast era. Talkie AI is a character chat app from SUBSUP PTE. LTD. in Singapore where you talk with AI personas by text or voice, or build your own.

It launched in 2023, runs on the web and Android, and you may know it by its store names, Talkie: Soulful AI or Talkie: Creative AI Community.

Here is the short version before the details:

  • The free web version voiced every message for me, and other sites put the free cap near 50 messages a day
  • An outside source lists Talkie+ for $9.99 a month and Talkie+ Pro for $24.99
  • I paid $95.99 for a year in April 2026
  • A clean content policy, with no adult content on any tier
  • Fees are non-refundable, and cancelling happens only in the store you paid in

My take: Talkie AI is the app I'd hand anyone who wants a story playing in one ear while their hands are busy. It is not the app for spicy roleplay, and I'd rather say that up front than let you find out later. For how it sits among everything else, my complete review index lines up every app I cover.

Talkie AI online free: what the web version gives

I started on the free web version in April 2026, and every reply came voiced. That alone makes it one of the more generous free starts around, because you get a narrator along with the chat. Talkie AI names a "Free Use" tier in its Terms of Service next to the paid Talkie+ tier, but it publishes no numbers for it.

Two outside sources agree the free limit is roughly 50 messages daily, refreshed every 24 hours, so treat that as a guide rather than a promise. The same pool of sources adds a 60-day chat-history sync limit and a free-tier memory context near 10,000 tokens, and one site alone claims a limit of 2 active characters. So is Talkie AI unlimited chat free? Not by those reports.

My view: roughly 50 voiced messages a day is a fair free start for a character app, and the Talkie AI web version is where I would begin. Where these numbers come from, and how much weight an outside source gets, is explained on how I check the apps. The Talkie AI at a glance box follows right below.

How I check the apps

What a Talkie AI chat sounds like

Sound is the point here. Every message came voiced on the free web version, so I plugged in an earbud while doing chores and let an atmospheric horror-mystery play like personal radio. Fiction in my ears, a tradition older than the printing press. It turned housework into story hour, and I mean that as high praise.

The same feature has a funny downside. Voice on every message means your typos become spoken-word bloopers. The bot once solemnly vowed to protect me from the dashers instead of the darkness, and I kept the clip. If you type fast and loose on a phone, expect a few of those.

Voices vary by character. Other reviewers report that a few sound pleasant, while others come out wooden or land on the wrong emotion, so audition a few personas before you settle. The character generator lets you set name, persona, skills, appearance and voice yourself, which makes a Talkie AI girlfriend, a Talkie AI boyfriend or a friend who is neither equally easy to build. I love that nothing assumes who the user is.

Memory is the soft spot. One review says the AI sometimes lost track of where a long story was; another rates short-term memory solid and long-term moderate; a third says free-tier memory is throttled to about 10,000 tokens against a 1-million-token model context. For a serialized mystery that matters, and I'd expect the plot to wander if a story runs long.

Stability has been a question as well. On a Google Play Community thread, users say the app vanished from app stores at times between 2024 and 2026. My explainer on whether Talkie AI got banned in 2026 goes through what is and is not on record.

18+ readers only. Here we look at AI companion apps that include NSFW features; there are no explicit images.

Talkie AI content rules: clean by design

Talkie AI's adult-content policy on record is "none", on the free tier and on both paid tiers, and my four months matched it: no adult content. Frankly, the dashers blooper was the romance. I don't count the policy as a flaw. It is a choice, and knowing it upfront saves you an evening and a subscription.

So who is it good for? People who want playful, romantic or story-led chat without adult scenes. My atmospheric horror-mystery never needed more than that. If you want the filter gone, it never will be here, and no plan changes that. There is no setting on record that loosens it.

The creative tools deserve a note. The platform lists image creation, and the character generator produces avatars from the appearance you describe. The Google Play listing also names AI video generation, as a general content tool rather than video calls with a character.

Other reviewers report that the video and creative features live mostly in a separate companion app, Talkie Lab, while the main app puts character chat first.

On image quality, one outside review prefers the anime-style pictures; the realistic ones, it says, can come out stiff or too glossy. If a realistic look matters to you, keep your expectations modest.

My view of the whole package: a character hub with a voice for everything, some creative extras and firm content lines. Judge it on the stories and the voices, not on what it was never built to do. And if the voices suddenly go quiet one evening, my page on why Talkie AI is not working today shows our latest check, run twice a day, so you can see whether the problem is on their side.

Who Talkie AI suits

Great for

  • Listeners who want every reply voiced, like a radio drama
  • Multitaskers who chat with an earbud in while doing chores
  • People who prefer romantic or story chat without adult scenes
  • Anyone who likes building a persona with its own look and voice
  • Web and Android users

Skip if

  • Anyone looking for adult roleplay or adult images
  • Fast typists who would hate hearing their typos read aloud
  • People who want a refund if a plan disappoints
  • Readers who need long storylines remembered for months

What Talkie AI costs, and what I paid

In April 2026 I bought the year for $95.99, which works out to $8.00 a month. That is my own receipt. Talkie AI has no official pricing page on record, so today's tiers come from an outside source: Talkie+ (Standard) at $9.99 a month and Talkie+ Pro at $24.99 a month.

Next to its rivals, Standard is on the cheap side. OurDream AI's Standard Monthly is $19.99, Nomi AI's Standard Plan Monthly is $15.99 and Candy AI's 1-Month Plan is €13.99. Pro at $24.99 costs more than all three, and without an official list of what it adds, I can't tell you it is worth that.

Then there are Diamonds. The official guide for a feature called Talkie Claw says it is billed in Diamonds by response length after a free allowance. An outside source prices Diamond packs between $1.99 and $19.99 but never says how many Diamonds each holds. I cannot tell you what a Diamond buys, and that bothers me.

My year cost less per month than Standard, but I stopped using the app after four months, so the yearly math only works if you stay.

No official pricing page: tiers are from an outside source. My $95.99 yearly price dates from April 2026. Diamonds cost extra.

Is Talkie+ worth paying for?

I bought the year in a fit of earbud optimism, and I would not repeat that exact move. I stopped after four months, and with no refunds for partial periods, the rest of a yearly plan simply sits there.

My advice: stay on the free web version while it covers you. If you hit the daily cap often and still love the voices, I'd pick Talkie+ (Standard), $9.99 monthly, and renew it one month at a time. At that price, the no-refund rule stings less, and you can walk away the moment your podcast era ends.

I'd skip Talkie+ Pro at $24.99 for now. The tier differences are not published officially, so you would pay two and a half times Standard without a clear list of extras. Leave Diamond packs alone too, until you know which feature needs them. The table right after this, What each Talkie AI plan costs, shows the tiers on record.

Talkie AI option Billed Cost Works out per month
Talkie+ (Standard) monthly $9.99 $9.99
Talkie+ Pro monthly $24.99 $24.99

Talkie AI earned 5.5/10 in my hands-on review and starts at $9.99/mo. I have no referral deal here, so the link is a normal one. Go to the official Talkie AI site

The closest alternative I would suggest

That card sets a partner app beside Talkie AI, and for me the choice comes down to what you want in your ears and on your screen:

  • Stay with Talkie AI if you want free chat where every reply is voiced
  • Stay with Talkie AI if clean, story-led roleplay suits you
  • Look elsewhere if adult roleplay is the point, since the policy rules it out
  • Look elsewhere if you want prices and token costs published officially

Where a partner can win is openness about money and adult content. Talkie AI has no official pricing page, its Diamonds have no published value, and its fees are non-refundable. An app that publishes its own plans and offers a refund window is a gentler first purchase.

If you want another big character site to weigh, my SpicyChat review is the page I'd open next.

My honest take: for voiced stories, Talkie AI is the easier start. For adult content, do not wait for Talkie AI to change its policy; pick the app whose rules already fit what you want.

The good and bad of Talkie AI

What went well

  • Every reply voiced on the free web version, like personal radio
  • A free tier that outside sources put near 50 messages a day
  • Detailed character generator: name, persona, skills, appearance and voice
  • Talkie+ (Standard) listed at $9.99 a month
  • Interface in 15 languages

What fell short

  • Voice on every message turns typos into spoken bloopers
  • No adult content on any tier
  • Fees are non-refundable, including partial months
  • No official pricing page, and Diamond values are not published

Cancelling Talkie AI: set the alert the day you pay

Here is my cancelling story. I bought the year in April 2026 and set a calendar alert named "cancel talkie" before it renewed. The alert went off while I was setting up a program at the library, and a room of patrons watched me make a face. Embarrassing, but it did its job, and I recommend the habit to anyone on a yearly plan.

Talkie AI keeps cancelling strict. The Terms of Service say changes and cancellations happen solely in the app store where you first bought the subscription, and Talkie publishes no click path inside the app. Paid through Google Play? You cancel in Google Play.

Renewal is automatic: the Terms say the store keeps billing your chosen payment method on its own until you cancel. Deleting the app on its own does not stop that.

Refunds are where I get uneasy. The Terms make every fee non-refundable as far as the law allows, and nothing comes back for a partly used month. The FAQ adds that recharges usually aren't refunded either, with system errors and duplicated transactions as the exceptions. Keep your receipts, because a duplicated charge is the one case the FAQ names.

My three rules: cancel in the store where you paid, set the alert on the day you buy, and buy Diamonds only when you know what they are for. If you want a character hub with clearer money rules, my AI chat character rankings compare the bigger libraries.

What will a Talkie AI charge look like?

The statement descriptor is not on record, so I cannot tell you what name appears. Payment goes through the app marketplace, which means the store you bought from handles the charge. If discretion on a shared card matters to you, look at your store's receipt after the first payment and decide from there.

Is Talkie AI safe with your stories?

On training, the honest answer is that it is unclear. The privacy policy talks about letting your AI chatbot learn from how you interact with it, so your conversations get better. That could mean personalising your own chats, or it could mean more, and the policy does not spell it out. I don't like guessing when private chats are involved.

Retention is vague too: the policy says personal information stays only as long as its original purposes need it, and no deletion timeframe is on record. That gap bothers me more than anything else in the Talkie AI privacy picture.

So, is Talkie AI safe? As a registered company active since 2023, with a published privacy policy and terms, it is a legit, working service. As a place for secrets, I'd be careful. Keep your full name, address and workplace out of your chats, and sign up with an email you don't use for anything important.

On stability, a Google Play Community thread has users describing store removals at various points in 2024-2026. That is one reason I'd lean on the web version at the Talkie AI official website, where my own four months began. If the app ever disappears on you, my list of AI chat apps like Talkie has the closest replacements lined up.

Final word on Talkie AI

Final score

5.5/10

Uneven

Talkie voices every message, even free, which makes it great for chores and stories, though typos become bloopers and memory is thin.

Used hands-on with a paid plan

  • An atmospheric horror mystery played in my earbud like personal radio.
  • Reviewers found memory weak over long stories, with free memory throttled.
  • The character generator sets name, persona, look and voice.
  • Every message comes voiced on the free web version, typos and all.
  • Voice on free is generous; I paid $95.99 for the year and set a cancel alert.
  • Its policy says the bot learns from your chats, with no clear opt-out.
  • Users report it being pulled from app stores at times.

Bars use a 0-10 scale. The overall score is a weighted average of these criteria, and every app uses identical weights. How we review the apps

My verdict: Talkie AI shines as a free way to have clean character stories read aloud while you get on with your day. For adult roleplay or a refund safety net, go elsewhere.

Start on the free web version, as I did. If you outgrow the daily cap, my choice would be Talkie+ (Standard) for $9.99, paid month by month; my $95.99 year showed me that four months of use does not fill twelve. What bothers me most is money without detail: no official pricing page, no published Diamond value and a firm no-refund rule. Skip it too if typos read aloud would drive you up the wall.

Better picks when Talkie AI is not the fit

Talkie AI does one thing wonderfully: voiced, clean character stories. If your goal is different, here is where I'd point you, based on what each record shows:

  • GirlfriendGPT if you want adult chat with a free start: 20 bonus messages, a Daily Login top-up of 10 a day, and adult chat on paid plans
  • Candy AI for pictures and video in a single plan: the 1-Month Plan at €13.99 includes both, though the free start is only 5 messages
  • Nomi AI if memory matters most: 50 free messages a day, and reviewers praise its proactive long-term memory
  • OurDream AI if you want a refund window: a 14-day Quality Guarantee, with each request judged on its own

Every app on this list has its prices on record, a real step up from Talkie AI. If voice is what you love most, Candy AI lists voice calls and Nomi AI puts them on its Standard plan, so you would not lose the sound entirely.

If the content policy is your reason to leave, my guide to uncensored AI chat apps covers apps with a very different approach. Wherever you go, start free first, and set that calendar alert the day you pay.

Instead of Talkie AI

The next three apps I would open, and the reason.

Those three cards are where I'd look if Talkie AI does not fit, each covering a gap it leaves open: adult content, images or a longer memory. For me, the missing detail on money is the gap that matters most, so I'd open the card with the clearest refund rule first. My own notes run from April to July 2026, while prices and policies here are from September 2026; where my yearly price and today's tiers differ, I have shown both.

Before you commit to any of them, read the refund rule and start on the free tier, just as I did here.

Talkie AI questions, answered after four months of listening

What is Talkie AI?

Talkie AI is a character chat app from SUBSUP PTE. LTD., a company in Singapore. You chat with AI personas by text or voice and can build your own with a name, persona, skills, appearance and voice. It runs on the web and Android, and its store names include Talkie: Soulful AI and Talkie: Creative AI Community. I used it from April to July 2026, mostly as voiced stories.

Can I use Talkie AI online free?

Yes. Talkie AI has a free tier, and it works on the web as well as Android; on the free web version, every reply came voiced for me. Talkie AI does not publish the limits, but outside sources put it at about 50 messages a day, resetting every 24 hours, with chat history synced for 60 days. Paid plans are listed from $9.99 a month.

When was Talkie AI made?

Talkie AI launched in 2023. It is run by SUBSUP PTE. LTD., registered in Singapore. The app has appeared under several store names, including Talkie: Soulful AI, Talkie: Creative AI Community and Talkie AI: Chat With Character, with a separate creative app called Talkie Lab.

What happened to Talkie AI in 2026?

According to users in a Google Play Community thread, the app went missing from stores more than once during 2024-2026. The service itself is active, and the web version on the official website is the steadiest way in. If the app is missing from your store, try the browser.

Does Talkie AI allow NSFW chat?

No. Talkie AI's adult-content policy on record is none, on the free tier and on both paid tiers, and there is no setting on record that changes it. My four months stayed clean the whole way. It suits romantic or story chat without adult scenes. For adult roleplay, look at an app like GirlfriendGPT or OurDream AI instead.

Can I get a refund from Talkie AI?

Usually not. Under the Terms of Service, fees stay non-refundable wherever the law permits, and partial months get no refund. Per the FAQ, a recharge is only refunded after a system error or a duplicated transaction. Cancel only through the store where you paid, and set a reminder before renewal.

How much does Talkie AI cost?

Outside sources list two tiers: Talkie+ (Standard) at $9.99 a month and Talkie+ Pro at $24.99 a month, and Talkie AI has no official pricing page. I paid $95.99 for a year in April 2026. Some features, such as Talkie Claw, are billed in Diamonds after a free allowance, and Diamond pack sizes are not published.
