Checked twice a day, every 12 hours. About this check
Is Talkie AI down right now, or is it just you?
The box above answers the first half of that question. It shows a state chip, the time of the latest reading in UTC, how fast the Talkie AI website responded, uptime for the last 7 days and 30 days, and a strip of daily results. My advice is to look at the timestamp first.
The check runs twice a day, so a green chip from hours ago tells you less than it seems, and the box marks a reading Out of date once it is more than 14 hours old. The response time is worth a glance too, because it shows whether the Talkie AI website answered briskly or dragged, even while the chip itself stays green.
Here is how I read each state:
- Up: the Talkie AI website answered normally. If Talkie AI is not working for you anyway, the cause is probably closer to home: your network, your browser or an old app build.
- Slow: an answer came back, but late. Chats may still load, just with a delay.
- Down: a server error, a timeout or a failed connection. This is the one state that points at Talkie AI itself.
- Unknown: the server turned away the automated request. That is a bot filter doing its job, and it is never scored as an outage.
One thing I wish were different: Talkie AI has no official status page on record, so there is no company feed of Talkie AI server status I can send you to. The terms name the operator, SUBSUP PTE. LTD., but no public incident page. I think a character app with a paid tier owes its members that much. Until one exists, this box and the app's own error messages are what you have.
Keep the platform in mind too. Talkie AI is on record for the web and Android. The box reads the website, so an Android problem after an update can slip past it. If the chip says Up and your phone still shows a spinner, go to the quick fixes further down before you assume the servers are gone.
I also trust the daily strip more than any single reading. One bad reading is noise. Several failed days in a row is a pattern, and if you pay monthly, a pattern is a fair reason to rethink the plan.
If you landed here while deciding whether Talkie AI deserves your evenings at all, my Talkie AI review with the free tier and both paid plans sets out what the records show about pricing, memory and voices.
Why a Talkie AI outage is a money question for Talkie+ members
Free users lose nothing but patience on a dead evening. Talkie AI's terms name a "Free Use" tier next to the paid Talkie+ tier, and no official page publishes its limits. Secondary sources put the free allowance at about 50 messages a day, but Talkie AI itself has not published that number, so treat it as a rough guide.
Either way, waiting out an outage on the free plan costs no money: there's nothing to cancel and nothing to claim back, and the evening itself is all you lose.
Paid members are in a different spot, and I want to be straight about it. The two paid tiers on file are Talkie+ (Standard) at $9.99 a month and Talkie+ Pro at $24.99 a month. Both prices come from secondary sources, because no official pricing page was found on the Talkie AI website. That bothers me a little.
I like knowing the price before I reach for a card, and here you meet it in the store checkout rather than on a page you can read calmly first.
The billing rules are strict. Under the terms, renewal fees keep going to the payment method you set up through the marketplace, automatically, until you cancel. Apart from what the terms expressly provide, they also rule out refunds on every fee as far as the law permits.
Nothing in the records promises credit for downtime, so an outage in the last week of your month is simply lost time.
Now the part I do like. You can only change or cancel Talkie+ through the app marketplace where you bought it. That sounds restrictive, but it means cancelling runs through the store, not through Talkie AI's servers. If the app is down and you have had enough, the store can still take the cancellation. No in-app click path is published, so open the subscriptions area of the store you paid through.
My take on the plans: if outages worry you, stay on the free tier, or on Standard at $9.99, until the history strip shows you a clean month. Pro costs $15.00 more every month, and I would not pay that extra for an app with no public status page and no refunds. That is the plan I'd skip for now.
If the strip keeps turning red, my shortlist of AI chat apps like Talkie, ranked by how close they come is worth a look before your next renewal date.
How this check works
The status box reads stored results from an automated request that our own server sends to the official Talkie AI website twice a day, every 12 hours. Each check records whether the site answered, the HTTP code and the response time. Slower than 3 seconds is Slow.
No answer within 10 seconds, a server error or a broken connection is Down. A blocked or rate-limited request (HTTP 401, 403 or 429) is Unknown. Results are kept for 30 days for the uptime figures and the daily strip.
Two design choices matter to me. Opening this page sends nothing to Talkie AI, because your browser only reads saved results. And a blocked request is shown as Unknown, not Down. The same method runs on every page of my is it down hub for AI chat apps.
Days without any reading show as not checked in the strip, so a gap is never passed off as good news.
What the box does not do: it does not log in, it does not open a chat, and it does not look inside the Android app. It only tells you whether the front door of the website answers. Two checks a day can also miss a short outage in between, so if Talkie AI fails right now, look at its official social channels and the quick fixes below.
When Talkie AI won't load: checks on your side
Say the box shows Up and you are still asking why isn't Talkie AI working: the fault usually sits on your side of the connection. Work through these in order:
- Switch networks. Move from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or the other way round, and turn off a VPN if you run one.
- Close the tab or the Android app fully, then open it again. A hard refresh in the browser clears a page that got stuck.
- Update the app. An old build can fail against a newer server, and that is my first suspect when trouble starts right after an update.
- Try the other door. If the Android app fails, open Talkie AI in a browser, and if the browser fails, try the app.
- Give it a little while, then look at the box again before you reinstall anything.
If none of that helps and the box shows Down, the problem is on Talkie AI's side, and no reinstall will fix it. That is the moment to stop fiddling with your phone and either wait or open a backup. Note the time on the chip first, so you can compare it with the next reading when you come back.
Talkie AI's weak spots that can look like an outage
Not every bad session is a server failure. Some of what feels like a broken app is Talkie AI behaving as designed, and it helps to tell the two apart before you start reinstalling.
Memory is the big one. Other reviewers report that memory is weak in long conversations and that the AI can lose track of where the story was. A kinder summary on file calls it solid short-term memory with moderate long-term memory. On the free tier, other reviewers report memory throttled to about 10,000 tokens against a 1-million-token model context.
If your character forgets the plot late in a long evening, that limit is the likelier cause, not an outage. My take: it is a real catch for anyone who loves long story arcs, and worth knowing before you pay.
Voices are the other soft spot. Some character voices are described as good, while others sound stiff or miss the emotional tone. A flat voice line is annoying, but it is not downtime either.
Everything here comes from official pages and published reports rather than my own sessions, and my page on how the facts on this site are gathered explains where each one comes from.
Where to chat while Talkie AI is down
If the box really does show Down, I would not sit there refreshing. Pick a backup that matches what you came for.
For voice and a companion who remembers, Candy AI is the one I'd open first. Memory and voice calls are both on record, it runs in the browser, and you can sample it on a free account before any card comes out. For longer roleplay with several characters at once, OurDream AI lists group chat, memory and voice calls, though its images and video sit behind paid plans.
If you want a free allowance the company itself publishes, Nomi AI offers 50 messages a day on a permanent free plan, on web, iOS and Android.
A backup is not a breakup. Your Talkie AI characters will still be there when the servers come back, so use the quiet hour to see whether something else suits you better.

Why Candy AI is my first backup when Talkie AI stalls
Candy AI is a companion and roleplay app run by EverAI Limited in Malta, and it lives on the web. That matters on a page like this one: when an Android app misbehaves, a browser-based backup is one tap away on the same phone.
What I like is the fit for anyone who came to Talkie AI for voice and a steady character. Voice calls and memory are both on record. Other reviewers report that voice and phone-call audio sound top-tier and expressive, while memory holds for roughly 10-20 messages before details can slip.
So it is stronger on sound than on long stories, and I would pick it for an evening of chat rather than a sprawling plot.
The free start is small, and I'd rather you know that up front. A free-tier check on 2026-09-22 showed 3-5 messages and 3-5 images on a free account, with no video. Treat that as a sample, not as a place to spend a whole outage. Adult content is paid-only, so the free account stays on the tame side.
On price, the 1-Month Plan is €13.99. A current sale takes 70% off the 12-month plan, which brings it to €3.99 a month, billed as €47.88 for the year, verified on 2026-09-23. My take: if a Talkie AI outage is the only reason you are here, start with the monthly plan and see whether you still open Candy AI once Talkie AI is back. If you do, the yearly deal is the smart buy.
Two billing details I like. Cancelling is published: Settings / Unsubscribe inside your account. Outside the EU and UK, the terms give you 24 hours after payment to ask for a refund, which is short, so decide fast.
If more than one app is failing tonight, my Character AI outage page is the next place I would look.
- Starting free: Free tier
- Lowest price: €3.99 monthly (12-Month Plan)
- Allowed: mature chat, paid plans
- Runs on: web

My short advice before you close this tab
Here is what I'd tell a friend staring at a frozen Talkie AI screen. Read the chip and its timestamp first. If it says Up, the fix is almost always on your phone or network, so switch connections, update the app and try the browser. If it says Down, stop tapping and wait, because nothing on your side will help.
If you pay for Talkie+, keep the billing rules in mind. There is no refund on record and no credit for lost hours, and cancelling only works through the store you bought it from. That store route still works during an outage, which I count as a small mercy.
And if the daily strip turns red more often than you like, that is useful information, not bad luck. A free start somewhere else costs you nothing, and your Talkie AI characters will wait. Bookmark this page if Talkie AI is part of your evenings. The next time the app hangs, one look at the chip can save you a pointless reinstall.
Talkie AI outage questions
Is Talkie AI down today?
Look at the status box at the top of this page and read the time next to the chip first. Down means the Talkie AI website returned an error, timed out or refused the connection at the last reading. Up means it answered normally, so your network, browser or app version is the more likely culprit. Unknown means the server blocked the automated request, which is not counted as an outage.
Is Talkie AI still down?
The box keeps 30 days of results, so the daily strip shows whether a problem is a single blip or has lasted several days. If the latest reading still says Down, give it time and come back here rather than reinstalling. There is no official Talkie AI status page on record, so there is no company estimate of a fix time to quote.
Why is Talkie AI not working on Google Play?
Talkie AI is on record for the web and Android. If the Android app from Google Play fails while the box says Up, update the app, close it fully and reopen it, and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If it still fails, open Talkie AI in a browser on the same phone.
If the web version works, the problem sits with the app on your device, not with the servers.
Why is Talkie AI down for me but not for other people?
A real outage hits everyone at once, while a local fault only hits you. A VPN, a weak network, an old app build or a stuck browser tab can all make Talkie AI look down when it is not. If the box shows Up, work through the quick fixes on this page.
If it shows Down, the problem is on the Talkie AI side and waiting is the only fix.
Do I get a refund for Talkie+ when Talkie AI is down?
Not according to the records. The Terms of Service rule out refunds on fees as far as applicable law allows, except where the terms expressly say otherwise, and nothing on file promises credit for downtime. Talkie+ renews automatically through the marketplace until you cancel, so if outages keep eating your evenings, cancel in the store where you bought it before the next renewal.
Does Talkie AI have an official status page?
Not one on record. Neither Talkie AI nor its operator, SUBSUP PTE. LTD., has a public incident page on file, so the box on this page and the messages inside the app are the best signals you have. I would welcome an official page, and if one appears it belongs right next to this check.
