Two spicy apps that sell you very different things

Candy AI and CrushOn AI both do romantic roleplay and both let you create your own companion, but they charge for different things. Candy AI sells a full package: unlimited text, voice calls, pictures and video, all on a paid plan. CrushOn AI sells message credits and leaves pictures out entirely.

My take: decide first whether you want to see her or mostly talk to her, because that one question settles most of this.

The free start is where they split hardest. Candy AI's free account is a taster: 5 messages overall that never refill, and a dated free-tier check on 2026-09-22 counted 3-5 messages and 3-5 images, with no video. Adult content on Candy AI is paid-only.

CrushOn AI hands out 100 message credits each month, tops that up with coins for daily tasks, and its policy allows adult chat without a subscription. If you want an honest free trial of the chat itself, CrushOn AI wins that round easily.

Price is less clear-cut. Candy AI costs €13.99 for one month, but the 12-month plan works out to €3.99 a month, billed €47.88 upfront. CrushOn AI's ladder begins with Standard ($5.99 monthly) and tops out with Elite ($89.99), so a heavy chatter can spend far more there than on Candy AI.

What bothers me on each side? On Candy AI, it is how little the free account shows you before it asks for a card. On CrushOn AI, it is the strict refund rule and the complaints about billing and support, which I go through in my full CrushOn AI review and further down this page. Neither is a deal-breaker for me, but I'd want you to have both in mind before checkout.

One thing I like about both: custom characters are on the feature list, so you shape your companion yourself instead of settling for a preset. The table right after this text lines the two apps up one row at a time, so scan it for the feature you care about most.

Will she remember what you told her?

Candy AI lists memory as a feature, while CrushOn AI marks it as limited. CrushOn AI is at least open about the size: 8K memory on Free, 16K memory models on Standard and Premium, and 24K memory models on Elite. Candy AI publishes no number.

Other reviewers report that Candy AI's character consistency holds for roughly 10-20 messages and can then drop details in longer chats. If that is right, I would not pick either app for a long slow-burn story without planning to remind her of the key facts. For memory alone I lean CrushOn AI on a paid plan, simply because the figures are public.

Custom companions and group scenes

On each app you can make your own characters, which is my favourite part of this matchup: you decide who your companion is rather than taking whoever the app pushes first. CrushOn AI adds group chat on its paid plans, while the Free plan has none. The Candy AI record says nothing about group chat, so I would not count on it there.

Pictures, voice calls and how far the chat can go

Here Candy AI is clearly ahead. Its paid plans include adult image and video generation, voice calls and 100 tokens a month. Reviewers praise the realistic images and a look that stays consistent, but they also count about 1 in 8 generations coming back with visible errors and no free retry, so I would budget tokens for re-rolls.

The full image story is in my Candy AI review. CrushOn AI has no images or video at all. Its voice calls are limited, although the Free plan includes unlimited AI voice replies. On content, CrushOn AI allows adult chat on every plan, while Candy AI keeps it behind the paywall.

Privacy and the bank statement

Candy AI bills as EverAI, which I find nicely discreet. CrushOn AI shows up as CRUSHON SUB, which is far more obvious if someone else reads your statement. There is also an unconfirmed claim that CrushOn AI uses chat logs for AI training and advertising; no official CrushOn AI page says so.

I treat it as unproven, but on either app I'd leave your real name and private details out of the conversation regardless.

Candy AI: the all-in-one pick, if you pay

Candy AI comes from EverAI Limited, a company registered in Malta, and runs on the web only. It is built as a companion and roleplay app, and the paid plan is where it all happens: unlimited text messages, custom companions, adult image and video generation, voice calls and a monthly token allowance. For someone who wants one companion they can chat with, hear and see, it covers more ground than CrushOn AI does.

Honestly, the free account feels to me like a demo, not a true free tier. A handful of messages will not tell you whether the chat suits you. So I would treat the free start as a look at the interface, then decide on price.

And the price is where Candy AI gets interesting. The monthly plan at €13.99 is ordinary for this market. If you already know you like it, the smart buy is the 12-month plan, €3.99 monthly, and right now it is shown as a 70% discount, verified on 2026-09-23.

The catch is the upfront bill of €47.88 and the refund window: outside the EU and UK, the terms give you 24 hours after payment to ask for your money back. That is short, so decide before you commit, not after.

Reviewers also flag that replies come back much slower on the free account than on paid, 15-30 seconds against 3-5 seconds. I would not judge the chat speed from the free start alone.

Cancelling is simple on paper: Settings, then Unsubscribe, inside your account. If you are weighing it against other apps too, my list of head-to-head comparisons has Candy AI against several rivals.

CrushOn AI: generous chat, shaky trust

CrushOn AI is run by TECHIEPIE LTD and works on the web and on Android. It is a roleplay and companion app with a big character side, and it is text first: no images, no video. What it does well is give you room to chat before paying, with 100 message credits a month on Free plus coins from daily tasks, and adult chat allowed on every plan.

For a reader who mainly wants spicy conversation and a wide cast, that is a very fair start.

The paid ladder is long. My first pick would be Standard, $5.99 monthly: 2,000 credits, 16K memory models and group chat. Premium adds credits, Luxe adds adjustable reply length, and Elite at $89.99 a month is only worth it if you chat all day.

Here is what bothers me. According to its terms, CrushOn AI refunds no usage fees, and unused time earns no partial refund either. Other reviewers report a Trustpilot score around 1.8-2 out of 5 from about 17-22 reviews, with complaints about double charges, slow support and filters that trigger on harmless roleplay.

That is a small sample, but it lines up with a strict refund rule, so I would start on the monthly plan rather than a yearly one.

Reviewers also describe many of the listed chat models as buggy or outdated, so expect to switch models until one feels right. The default voices get good marks, while custom voice cloning from your own sample does not.

To cancel a web subscription, go to Profile, then My Subscription, Manage and Cancel Subscription. For how I weigh official pages against reviewer reports, see how I check the apps.

Each app's prices appear in the currency it bills in, with no conversion. Price sorting only compares apps that share a currency.

Candy AI prices are in euros and CrushOn AI prices in US dollars, as each app lists them; yearly plans are billed upfront.

Comparing the two on price is a little awkward, because Candy AI charges in euros and CrushOn AI in US dollars. So I look at it by how you would use each app.

If you only want to chat, CrushOn AI is cheaper. The Free plan may be all a light user needs, and for $5.99 monthly, Standard brings 2,000 message credits. Paid yearly, Standard comes to $4.91 a month, but since refunds are off the table, I'd hold off on a full year until one month has gone well.

If you want pictures, video and voice, CrushOn AI is simply not in the running, and the question becomes which Candy AI plan. Monthly, €13.99 is a normal subscription. The 12-month plan brings it to €3.99 monthly (€47.88 charged upfront), the best value on this page, provided you are already sure.

Between those sits the 3-Month Plan, €8.99 monthly, which I'd skip: you pay more each month than on the yearly option and take on barely less risk.

Tokens are the thing to watch on Candy AI. The plan includes 100 tokens a month, and if roughly 1 in 8 images fails with no free retry, some of those tokens go to re-rolls. Budget for that.

Heavy chatters on CrushOn AI face the opposite problem: credits. Premium at $14.99 gives 6,000 a month, Luxe at $39.99 gives 20,000, and Elite at $89.99 gives 55,000. Those top plans cost far more than any Candy AI plan.

If image-heavy use is your thing, my Candy AI and OurDream AI face-off is worth a read too, since OurDream AI sells images and video through coins.

CrushOn AI Adult chat on the free plan, 100 credits a month · 5.3/10, starts at $4.91/mo Try CrushOn AI for free

I like CrushOn AI's free start more than Candy AI's, and I will say it plainly: it is the one to open first if chat is what you want. 100 message credits a month is not unlimited, yet it's plenty to judge if the characters and the roleplay suit you, and adult chat is part of the free plan rather than a paid unlock.

The catch is money after that point. The refund terms are strict, and billing complaints come up in reviews, so I would move to Standard at $5.99 a month and stay monthly until the app has earned your trust. Keep an eye on the renewal date, since subscriptions are charged automatically each month.

Two more things to know before you tap the button. Many of the listed chat models are described as buggy or outdated, so if the first one feels flat, try another model before writing the app off. Also, free users get 8K memory and no group chat, so long stories and group scenes are a paid-plan thing.

If the chat does not click, you have lost nothing but an evening.

If a friend asked me for a quick steer between Candy AI and CrushOn AI, I would keep it to this.

  • Want to see and hear her? Candy AI: the 12-month plan when you're certain, a single month when you're still unsure.
  • Want to chat for free first? CrushOn AI, with its 100 monthly credits and adult chat on the free plan.
  • Worried about your bank statement? Candy AI's EverAI reads more discreetly than CRUSHON SUB.
  • Scared of being stuck with a charge? Neither is gentle, but Candy AI's 24-hour refund window beats CrushOn AI's no-refund rule.
  • Want an Android app? CrushOn AI has one; Candy AI is browser-only.

The one mistake I would avoid is paying for a year on either app before the free start has told you something. On Candy AI that means reading the free account as a preview, and on CrushOn AI it means spending your 100 credits first.

My own lean is Candy AI for anyone who already knows they want the full companion package, and CrushOn AI for anyone still figuring out what they like. Both let you build your own character, which I value a lot, since it lets you make a companion that fits you rather than a template.

If you are open to a companion that is more about memory and daily chat than pictures, read my Candy AI vs Nomi AI comparison as well.

Common questions

Is CrushOn AI vs Candy AI a fair fight on the free plan?

Not really. On CrushOn AI you get 100 message credits monthly and some coins from daily tasks, and adult chat is fine without paying. Candy AI's free account stops at 5 messages overall, never reset, and a dated check on 2026-09-22 counted 3-5 messages and 3-5 images, with no video. Adult content on Candy AI needs a paid plan. For a free start, CrushOn AI is clearly more generous.

Does CrushOn AI make pictures?

No. The CrushOn AI record lists no image or video generation. It is a text chat app with AI voice replies and limited voice calls. If pictures matter to you, Candy AI's paid plans make images and video and come with 100 tokens monthly.

Which app is cheaper per month?

It depends on the plan. CrushOn AI Standard costs $5.99 a month, or $4.91 a month billed yearly. Candy AI costs €13.99 for one month, €8.99 monthly over 3 months, or €3.99 monthly over 12 months (€47.88 charged upfront). For chat only, CrushOn AI is cheaper; for pictures and voice, the best value is a year of Candy AI.

What name shows up on my bank statement?

Candy AI charges appear as EverAI. The CrushOn AI charge reads CRUSHON SUB. If discretion matters to you, the Candy AI descriptor gives away much less.

Can I get a refund from Candy AI or CrushOn AI?

Outside the EU and UK, Candy AI's terms allow a refund request within 24 hours of paying, and none later. CrushOn AI's terms rule out refunds of usage fees, and unused time gets neither a partial refund nor a credit. In both cases, decide before you pay rather than after.

How do I cancel Candy AI or CrushOn AI?

On Candy AI, go to Settings, then Unsubscribe, inside your account. On CrushOn AI with web billing, go to Profile, then My Subscription, Manage and Cancel Subscription. Neither plan stops on its own: each one renews until you cancel it.
