Rubii AI Review: Three Weeks in the Workshop
Has a free plan
starts at $7.99/mo
What is Rubii, and why did I call it my workshop?
Rubii was my workshop app: three weeks in June 2025, spent building rather than just chatting. The character builder, image, voice and video tools all sit in one place, and you can choose the model for each reply. Picking the narrator for each beat is my love language. I assign call numbers for a living, and I believe everything deserves the right label.
Rubii is a character hub for chat, roleplay and image and video generation, launched in 2025, with YoMio Tech Limited and EIGENVECTOR LTD running it jointly. My take in one line: the richest toolbox I've had in a SFW app, and also the one that asks the most of your free time.
What the official pages show:
- You can browse public characters and explore without an upfront purchase
- Free Rubies come from sign-up (50), daily logins (30 each) and a few bonuses
- Plus runs $7.99 monthly, with 800 Rubies and enhanced memory
- It runs on web, iOS and Android, in 10 interface languages
- The content policy allows no adult content
If adult roleplay is what you're after, Rubii isn't built for it, and my CrushOn AI review covers a rival with a different content line.

Is Rubii AI free? What my $0 bought, and the rules today
My three weeks cost $0. I built a character and made video clips without paying, which is the happy part. The careful part: the pricing page today lists video generation under the paid tiers, so what I did free in June 2025 may not be free for you now.
The free start itself is real. According to the homepage FAQ, browsing public characters, entering the web app and exploring need no upfront purchase. Free use runs on Rubies, the same currency the paid plans use: 50 on sign-up, 30 per daily login, 200 with a referral code and 300 for linking Discord or QQ. A free image quota for non-members isn't stated.
I like a free start that grows with daily visits more than a hard wall after a few messages. For scale, Rubii estimates the 800 Rubies in Plus at about 1,600 messages, so the free drip is modest but useful.
The Rubii at a glance box right after this has the short facts. For a companion that offers voice calls and one monthly plan instead of a currency, my Candy AI review is the contrast I'd read.

How good is Rubii at chat, memory and media?
Rubii's best trick is choice. You pick which model writes each reply, and the paid tiers give free daily use of named models: the Rubii Plus model 200 times a day on Plus, the Pro model added on Pro, and the Ultra model on Premium. For someone like me, who likes every beat labelled and shelved properly, that control is a joy.
Memory is a paid feature. Every paid tier lists enhanced chat memory, along with "Edit memo" and "Regenerate memo". Being able to correct what a character keeps about you is the kind of control I value. Other reviewers report that characters retain context across sessions. How memory behaves on the free side isn't documented.
Images come with a daily free quota on paid plans: 5 on Plus, 15 on Pro and 50 on Premium, all watermark-free. Video generation sits on the paid tiers, and the video tool quotes a cost before you generate, which I appreciate. Voice calls aren't on record, though the voice tools I used live in the same toolbox.
Now the friction, and it's my own. The breadth demands a weekend of mastery, and my weekends are spoken for: holds on Saturdays, fanfic on Sundays. A woman of twenty-eight has hours, not weekends. That's why I stopped. The tools needed more time than I had, not more polish.
The character side is what I remember best. You can create a girlfriend, a boyfriend or an original character, and the homepage names all three up front, which I love. Creators even earn 12% of what others spend on their characters. For how other apps compare on memory and media, my app review index collects them in one place.
18+ readers only. Here we look at AI companion apps that include NSFW features; there are no explicit images.
Rubii NSFW policy: a clean line, and why I like it
Rubii's content policy on record is no adult content, so I'd describe the level as SFW: companion chat and roleplay without anything explicit. No content filter setting is named on the official pages, and I won't guess at one.
For me that clean line was a feature. No adult content makes it a shareable playground at $7.99 for Plus. I built a friendly ghost tour guide and sent the clips to my book club, who assumed it was a work project, and I let them. Good luck doing that with the typical app in this niche.
That's the reader I'd send Rubii to: someone who wants to create, show friends what they made, and not worry about what pops up on screen. It works just as well for someone after a boyfriend as for someone after a girlfriend, since the builder names both, plus original characters. As an LGBTQ+ friendly reader, I notice when an app doesn't assume one kind of user, and Rubii doesn't.
The flip side is simple. If you want spicy roleplay, Rubii will disappoint you, and no plan changes that. It's better to know which camp you're in before you spend Rubies.
One more thing on the media side: other reviewers report the art and chat halves are woven into one, which suits anyone keen to see a character as well as chat with it. That matches the workshop feel I got from it.
If a looser content line is what you need, my uncensored AI rankings cover apps built for exactly that.
Who Rubii suits
Great for
- Makers who enjoy building characters and clips from scratch
- Anyone who wants to choose the model for each reply
- People who want a girlfriend, boyfriend or original character
- Readers who want a SFW app they can show friends
- Phone users, with apps for iOS and Android
Skip if
- Anyone looking for adult content, which the policy doesn't allow
- People with only an hour here and there to learn the tools
- Anyone who needs a guaranteed refund rule
- People who want a published web cancel path
What Rubii costs, and what Rubies really buy
Rubii sells three monthly memberships, Plus, Pro and Premium, also called Rubii+, Rubii+ Pro and Rubii+ Ultra. What each one really sells is a bundle of Rubies plus daily free use of certain models.
Plus at $7.99 gives 800 Rubies, which Rubii estimates at about 1,600 messages or 400 images. Pro at $14.99 gives 3,000 Rubies, and Premium at $29.99 gives 6,600. The deal improves as you go up: Pro gives almost four times the Rubies of Plus while costing under double. Memberships also stack, so buying Plus and Pro together gives 800+3000=3800 Rubies.
What I don't like: Rubii doesn't publish what one message or one image costs, so those "about" estimates are all you have to plan with. And a note from my own three weeks: the money wasn't what limited me, time was. If your evenings look like mine, a cheaper plan you actually use beats a bigger one gathering Rubies.

Is Rubii worth paying for?
My pick for most people is Plus at $7.99. It unlocks video generation, enhanced memory and 5 free images a day, and it's the price I'd pay to keep a SFW playground like mine going. If you only have hours, not weekends, Plus is enough toolbox.
Pro at $14.99 is the value sweet spot for heavy makers: 3,000 Rubies, the Pro model 200 times a day, 15 free images daily, and room to archive 2,000 items where Plus stops at 200. Premium at $29.99 is for people who live in the app.
One tip: where you buy matters. Cancelling runs through the marketplace you bought from, and anything bought via Apple or Google falls under that store's refund policy, so choose your checkout on purpose. The table right after this lays out every tier side by side.

| Premium (Rubii+ Ultra) | monthly | $29.99 | $29.99 |

The plain link next to this goes to Rubii's official website, and the card beside it is an app I'd rate for a different reader.
Rubii is a community platform first: public characters, creators who earn a share, and chat and art drawing from one wallet. That makes it lively and cheap to enter. It also makes the money side a little abstract, because per-action Ruby costs aren't published.
Things worth finding out while you're on free Rubies:
- How far 50 sign-up Rubies go with your chat style
- Whether the public characters suit your taste
- How much time the builder and video tools ask of you
- Whether you'd rather buy on the web or through an app store
If you want adult content, which Rubii doesn't allow, OurDream AI is the useful contrast: its policy allows it, and its Standard Monthly is $19.99 with 1,000 dreamcoins and group chat. My OurDream AI review covers its costs. For a SFW creative hub, though, I'd stay with Rubii.
The good and bad of Rubii
What went well
- Builder, image, voice and video tools in one place
- A choice of model for each reply
- Create a girlfriend, boyfriend or original character
- A free start with Rubies for sign-up and daily logins
- Web, iOS and Android apps in 10 interface languages
What fell short
- The breadth of tools takes real time to learn
- Per-message and per-image Ruby costs are not published
- You cancel in whichever marketplace sold you the plan
- Refunds are case by case, with no promises
How do you cancel Rubii, and can you get a refund?
I never subscribed, so my exit was simply closing the tab when my weekends won. If you do pay, read this part first. Under Rubii's terms, changing or ending a paid subscription happens only in the marketplace that sold it to you. Subscribed in the App Store?
You cancel there. Google Play works the same way. A web cancel path isn't published, and that's the gap I'd most like fixed. If you buy on the web, find out how to cancel before you pay, not after.
Renewal is automatic. Per the terms, the marketplace keeps charging renewal fees to your saved payment method until you cancel, so a monthly plan just keeps rolling. For the first two or three months I'd put a note in my calendar ahead of each renewal date.
Refunds are genuinely case by case. The refund policy, dated 2026-05-08, says Rubii evaluates every request individually and doesn't commit to refunds in advance, but doesn't categorically refuse them either. Store purchases are governed by Apple's or Google's own refund rules.
I appreciate the honesty, but a promise of nothing isn't much comfort, so if a refund route matters to you, buy through a store whose policy you already know.
The statement descriptor isn't on record, so I can't tell you how a charge appears on your card. If a discreet statement matters, ask support before your first purchase.
Where these billing details come from is explained in how I check the apps. The box below repeats the essentials.
Is Rubii private?
The strongest privacy line Rubii publishes is about deletion: once you deactivate, every conversation and record linked to your account is erased for good. That's clear and firm, and I like it. If you ever want out, your chats go with you, at least by that promise.
What I can't tell you is whether Rubii trains AI models on your chats. Nothing on record from the privacy policy says either way. Until it does, write each chat assuming someone you don't know could see it: no real names, no addresses, nothing you'd mind seeing again. My ghost tour guide was fiction from top to bottom, and that's the spirit I'd recommend.
Linking Discord or QQ earns 300 Rubies, and I'd weigh that against privacy, because linking ties your Rubii use to another profile. If discretion matters to you, those Rubies aren't worth it. The daily login bonus gets you there more slowly, with nothing linked.
Is Rubii legit, and is it here to stay?
Rubii launched in 2025, so it's a newcomer. YoMio Tech Limited and EIGENVECTOR LTD operate it together, and the company country isn't on record, which I'd like to see stated. On the reassuring side, it offers an iOS app, an Android app and a public refund policy with a date on it.
A newer service carries more risk that terms or prices change, so I'm glad Rubii sells only monthly plans. You never prepay for a year you might not want.
One line on balance: use it for fun and creativity, and keep plenty of life outside the app, book club included. If a big library of ready-made characters is what draws you, my AI chat character rankings put Rubii next to its closest rivals.
Final word on Rubii
Final score
6.6/10
OkayRubii is a safe-for-work workshop with builder, image, voice and video tools under one roof, great if you have a weekend to learn it.
Used hands-on with the free plan
- Picking the model for each reply let me choose the narrator for every beat.
- Paid tiers add memory notes you can edit, and reviewers saw context carry across sessions.
- The builder made me a friendly ghost tour guide worth sharing.
- Image, voice and video tools all live in one place.
- $7.99 gets you in, and free daily Rubies cover a taste.
- Deactivating the account erases conversations permanently.
- Nothing flaky reported; the breadth just takes a weekend to learn.
Bars use a 0-10 scale. The overall score is a weighted average of these criteria, and every app uses identical weights. How we review the apps
My verdict: Rubii is worth it for makers who want builder, image, voice and video tools in one SFW place, with a model choice for every reply. Pass on it if adult content is the goal, or if you only ever have an hour to spare.
The plan I'd buy is Plus at $7.99: enough Rubies, video and enhanced memory for a hobby that fits into evenings. Heavy makers should look at Pro at $14.99.
What bothers me most is the billing: cancelling runs through the marketplace you bought from, the web path isn't published, and refunds are case by case. My own reason for stopping comes second: the tools deserve weekends I don't have.

When another app suits you better than Rubii
Rubii is great for SFW character making with art and video on the side. If that isn't the whole picture for you, these are the apps I'd look at instead:
- Nomi AI for a steady free plan of 50 messages a day, with voice calls on its paid plan.
- Candy AI for voice calls and adult image generation on its paid plans.
- OurDream AI for group chat and adult content; its paid plans add image and video tools.
- GirlfriendGPT if you want lots of messages: Premium at $15.00 includes 5,000 a month.
My honest take: if you're happy in a SFW space, none of these records show Rubii's mix of per-reply model choice, community library, creator rewards and 10 languages. Switching makes sense when one missing feature really matters: adult content, voice calls or simply fewer tools to learn. Pick the app that fills your specific gap, and don't pay for extras you won't use.
For a different take on character roleplay with a huge community library, my SpicyChat review is worth a read before you decide. The cards below list each alternative's starting price and score.

My advice to a friend curious about Rubii: Start free, collect the daily Rubies for a week, build one character and make one clip. If you enjoy the making as much as the chatting, Plus is a fair $7.99. If you'd rather just talk, you'll find the toolbox more than you need.
It's a warm, open community that welcomes a boyfriend as readily as a girlfriend, and I value that. If you want a simpler companion with a clear message count, my GirlfriendGPT review is a good next stop. The FAQ below covers Rubies, plans, cancelling and privacy.
Rubii AI: your questions, answered
Is Rubii AI free?
You can start free. Per the homepage FAQ, public characters, the web app and general exploring are open with no upfront purchase. Free use runs on Rubies: 50 on sign-up, 30 per daily login, 200 with a referral code and 300 for linking Discord or QQ. I spent three weeks in June 2025 for $0, though video now sits on the paid tiers.
How much does Rubii cost?
Plus is $7.99 a month with 800 Rubies, Pro is $14.99 with 3,000 Rubies, and Premium is $29.99 with 6,600 Rubies, all from the official top-up page on 2026-09-23. Each tier also includes free daily use of certain models and a daily free image quota of 5, 15 or 50. Memberships can stack.
What are Rubies used for?
Rubies cover chatting as well as making images or videos. Rubii estimates 800 Rubies at about 1,600 messages or 400 images, but exact per-action costs aren't published. The video tool does quote a cost before you generate, and you can also enter a redemption code to add Rubies.
Does Rubii allow adult content?
No. The policy on record allows no adult content, so treat Rubii as a SFW app for companion chat, roleplay and art. That made it easy for me to share my clips with friends. If adult content is what you want, look at the alternatives above, such as OurDream AI, which allows it on its plans.
How do I cancel Rubii?
Per the terms, a paid subscription is cancelled only in the marketplace that sold it, for example Apple's App Store or Google Play. Renewal fees are billed automatically until you cancel. A web cancel path isn't published, so if you buy on the web, find out how to cancel before paying.
Can I get a refund from Rubii?
Maybe. The refund policy, dated 2026-05-08, says Rubii evaluates every request individually and doesn't commit to refunds in advance, but doesn't categorically refuse them. If you buy through Apple or Google, their refund rules apply instead, so choose your checkout with that in mind.
What happens to my chats if I delete my Rubii account?
Rubii promises that deactivating wipes every chat and record linked to your account permanently. Nothing on record says whether it trains AI on conversations, so leave real personal details out, deletion promise or not.
