Did PolyBuzz get banned? A calm, honest answer

By Jerry Shlocks · Last reviewed

Is PolyBuzz banned right now?

No. Nothing on file shows PolyBuzz being banned, pulled or shut down. In the latest facts on file, dated 23 September 2026, PolyBuzz is listed on the web, on iOS and on Android, and its membership page was still selling plans. The company behind it is Singularity Mutual Entertainment Culture Media Limited. That is not what a banned app looks like.

Here is the short list of signs of life on file:

  • It runs on three platforms: web, iOS and Android
  • The free plan offers text chat on the Standard model with ads, two free voice plays, and a single image generation for starters
  • Paid plans go from the Poly Standard Weekly Plan at $4.99 up to Poly Ultimate Year (web) at $299
  • Its own FAQ explains how to cancel through Apple and through Google Play

My take: when a rumour says an app got banned, look for the boring evidence first. Live prices, a working cancel page and store listings beat any screenshot passed around online. I'd rather hand you a dull "no" than a dramatic "maybe".

What I can't give you is a promise about next month. Nothing on file predicts the future of any app, and I won't pretend otherwise. If the facts change, this page changes with them.

One practical thought if the rumour made you nervous: the real worst case with a chat app is losing conversations you care about. It helps to know how your data leaves an app before you ever need to. My walkthrough on clearing out Character AI chats shows what that process looks like on a big rival, and the same two questions apply here: what can you remove, and what stays behind?

The table right after this section puts PolyBuzz next to Candy AI and OurDream AI. Use it to see the basics side by side, in case you ever want a second app you can open without a second thought.

App Free option Lowest monthly cost Allowed
PolyBuzz Yes $8.25 Unconfirmed
Candy AI Yes €3.99 Mature chat, paid plans
OurDream AI Yes $9.99 Mature chat permitted
Nomi AI Yes $8.33 Mature chat permitted
GirlfriendGPT Yes $12.00 Mature chat, paid plans
SpicyChat Yes $5.00 Mature chat permitted

Did PolyBuzz get banned on the App Store?

There's no sign of it. PolyBuzz is listed for iOS, and its FAQ tells iPhone users to cancel from the Settings app, through their Apple ID subscriptions. The Poly Standard Weekly Plan at $4.99 is an in-app purchase listing too.

On Android, PolyBuzz has a Google Play listing, and it agrees with the FAQ that there is no published daily message cap.

So was PolyBuzz banned from either store? Nothing I have says so. If the app ever vanishes from a store search on your phone, here is what I'd look at before panicking:

  • Whether the web version still opens, since PolyBuzz also runs in a browser
  • Whether your store region matches the one you normally use
  • Whether you typed the exact name, PolyBuzz, rather than a lookalike
  • Whether your subscription still shows under your Apple ID or Google Play subscriptions

That last one matters most for your wallet. A subscription that still renews is a subscription you are still paying for, whatever happens to the listing.

Is PolyBuzz banned in the US?

Nothing on file points to a US ban. Its web plans are priced in US dollars, from $9.90 for Poly Standard Monthly up to $29.90 for the Poly Ultimate Monthly Plan, and the web checkout listed its yearly plans on 23 September 2026. That is everything I can say with facts behind it, and I'd rather stop there than guess about laws or regions.

My honest view: nothing on file shows PolyBuzz announcing anything of the kind, so I treat the US question as a worry, not a news story. I understand the worry, though. If you've built characters you're fond of, the idea of losing them overnight is not fun.

But a worry isn't evidence, and I don't want you cancelling a plan you enjoy over a rumour with no source.

If you're deciding whether PolyBuzz is worth paying for in the first place, my full PolyBuzz review goes through the free plan, the three paid tiers and what the memory upgrades buy. Can you get banned from PolyBuzz?

This is the question I'd actually think about, because it's the one you control. An app being banned and your account being closed are two different things. The first is not on file for PolyBuzz. The second can happen on any service with terms of use, and PolyBuzz has terms, including a strict line on refunds.

PolyBuzz's content policy is on the soft side: it is not an app built for fully explicit chat. That gap is where most account trouble starts on apps like this, when people push a character past what the app allows. I won't share tricks for that, and I'd gently ask you not to go hunting for them.

Trying to get around an app's policy breaks its terms, and breaking the terms is exactly how an account gets closed.

Here is what I'd keep in mind so you never have to find out:

  • Stay within the content level PolyBuzz allows, even when a scene tempts you further
  • Treat filter workarounds as a risk to your account, never as a clever hack
  • Keep in mind a paid plan rolls over on its own unless you cancel it by the final day of the period
  • Know that refunds are refused for a completed purchase without due reason

That last point is the one that stings. PolyBuzz says a payment made under its rates and policies will not be refunded, so a closed account is very unlikely to mean money back. If you pay, you carry that risk yourself, which is one more reason to keep things within the rules.

If you want to know what the filter really covers and what you can change in the app's own settings, my guide to the PolyBuzz chat filter explains it without the risky stuff.

And if you're an adult who wants more than PolyBuzz's level, the respectful move is a different app, not a fight with this one. My roundup of apps like PolyBuzz sorts them by what their policies allow. OurDream AI, summed up in the box below, is one whose policy allows adult content, and it also has group chat and custom characters.

For me, picking the app that says yes is simply kinder to your account and to your evenings.

What happens to your money if PolyBuzz, or your account, goes away?

This is the part of the ban question that deserves the most attention, because it is where your real money sits. Every PolyBuzz plan renews by itself; to stop it, cancel no later than the subscription period's final day. A rumour doesn't cancel anything. Neither does deleting the app from your phone.

Cancelling goes through whoever took your money. On iOS that means the Settings app and the subscriptions under your Apple ID. Android users go to Subscriptions in the Google Play Store app. Web plans go through PolyBuzz's own web checkout, and the cancel steps on file cover the two app stores.

Refunds are tight. Per the terms, a completed purchase earns no refund unless there's due reason. My read: plan as if money spent is money gone.

That changes which plan I'd pick. The Poly Standard Weekly Plan at $4.99 looks cheap, but it works out to $21.62 a month, more than double Poly Standard Monthly at $9.90. If you're nervous about the app's future, monthly is the smart middle: you're never locked in for long, and you skip the weekly markup.

I'd hold off on the yearly plans at $99, $199 or $299 until you're sure you'll stay a full year, because under that refund rule a long plan is a long bet.

OurDream AI, in the box above, handles this more gently. Its refund policy has a 14-day "Quality Guarantee": contact support within 14 days of purchase and it decides case by case on a credit, replacement, rectification or refund. That is not a promise of money back, but it is softer than PolyBuzz's line.

Its charge shows as DREAM STUDIO LLC AL, worth knowing if discretion matters to you. PolyBuzz's statement name is not on file.

Candy AI sits in between. Non-EU/UK users have 24 hours after paying to ask for a refund, and no refund is issued after that.

If this feels like a lot to keep straight, my help guides on billing and cancelling take it one app at a time, in plain steps. Honestly, the calmest thing you can do today is write your renewal date down somewhere you'll see it, then relax and enjoy your chats.

Is PolyBuzz getting banned, or is it just a rumour?

I can't point you to a source for the rumour, and I'd be making one up if I named it. Nothing on file announces a ban, a shutdown or a removal. The facts on file show the opposite: a company selling weekly, monthly and yearly plans, with prices listed on 23 September 2026.

So why does the question keep coming up? I can only speak in general terms here, not about events on file. A chat app holds something personal: characters you shaped, long roleplays, a scene you were halfway through. When something feels off, people reach for the biggest explanation first.

A changed content rule, an app missing from one store search or an evening when it won't load can all turn into "it got banned" by the time the story travels.

My view: be kind to yourself about the worry, and strict about the evidence. A ban would show up as the app disappearing everywhere at once, web included, not as one glitchy night.

How can you tell a ban from an outage or a login problem?

Start with the web version. PolyBuzz runs in a browser as well as on iOS and Android, so if the site opens and your chats load there, the app is still around and the problem sits with your phone or your store.

Next, look at your subscription in the place you bought it: your Apple ID, Google Play or the web account. If it still shows as active and set to renew, nothing has been shut down on the billing side, and you are still being charged for it. That's worth knowing either way.

If only your account won't open while the app works for everyone else, that's a different story. That points to your account, not the app, and it's the moment to reread what the content policy allows before you contact support.

I weigh facts like these the same way on every app: official pages first, rumours never. If you're curious how that works in practice, here is how the apps on this site are checked, including why a missing fact stays missing instead of being guessed. Nothing fancy, just patience and official sources.

Should you keep a backup app, just in case?

Honestly, you don't need one because of this rumour. But if PolyBuzz has become a daily habit, a free backup costs nothing and takes the fear out of any future headline. I'd pick one with a real free start, so the backup never turns into a second bill.

Three that fit that brief, each with its own flavour:

  • SpicyChat keeps text chat unlimited on its free plan, with ads and possible waiting lines, and like PolyBuzz it is built around roleplay
  • Nomi AI has a permanent free plan of 50 messages a day with no ads, and it runs on web, iOS and Android, the same spread as PolyBuzz
  • GirlfriendGPT gives 20 bonus messages that never expire, and Daily Login adds 10 a day on top

My personal lean is SpicyChat for anyone who loves PolyBuzz for its character variety. If you care more about one steady companion, Nomi AI is the kinder start. Both let you make your own characters, which matters to me: you decide who your companion is, in whatever shape suits you, instead of taking a default someone else picked.

A calm caution: Candy AI, OurDream AI, SpicyChat and GirlfriendGPT are not on iOS. If an app-store phone app matters to you, that narrows the field fast.

Does a stricter filter mean an app is being banned?

No, and this mix-up feeds a lot of ban talk. A filter is a policy choice the company makes about what its characters will write. Tightening it, or keeping it tight, is a business decision, not a sign the app is in legal trouble. PolyBuzz's policy is soft, and nothing on file says that has anything to do with a ban.

The same confusion shows up around bigger apps. People see a strict content line and assume the app is on its way out. For how that plays out on another app, my piece on Character AI and NSFW content takes the question apart.

My advice is simple. Enjoy PolyBuzz for what it is, keep your renewal date in view, and if you want a different content level, choose an app whose policy already offers it. That way no rumour, filter change or headline can catch you off guard.

Common questions

Is PolyBuzz still available in 2026?

Yes, as far as anything on file shows. PolyBuzz is listed on the web, iOS and Android, and on 23 September 2026 its web checkout listed yearly plans, including Poly Premium Year (web) at $199. Its FAQ still explains how to cancel through Apple and Google Play. Nothing on file mentions a ban or a shutdown.

Is PolyBuzz shutting down?

I see no sign of that. There is no announcement of a shutdown, a sale or a removal from any store. I can't predict the future of any app, so my advice is practical: pay monthly rather than yearly if you're uneasy, and keep your renewal date where you can see it.

Will I get a refund if my PolyBuzz account is closed?

I wouldn't count on it. PolyBuzz's terms say that without due reason, nobody is owed a refund on a completed purchase, and that payments made under its rates and policies will not be refunded. The safest way to protect your money is to stay within the content policy and avoid long plans until you're sure.

Which PolyBuzz plan is the safest buy if I'm unsure about its future?

Poly Standard Monthly at $9.90. It keeps you flexible without the weekly markup, since the Poly Standard Weekly Plan at $4.99 works out to $21.62 a month. The yearly plans are cheaper per month, but with a strict refund rule they only make sense once you know you'll stay.

Who runs PolyBuzz?

PolyBuzz is run by Singularity Mutual Entertainment Culture Media Limited. The company sells Standard, Premium and Ultimate tiers, with monthly and yearly options, plus a weekly Standard plan. Its statement name on a card bill is not on file, so check your bank app after the first charge if discretion matters to you.

What can I use if PolyBuzz stops working for me?

For a roleplay feel, SpicyChat has unlimited free text chat with ads. For one steady companion, Nomi AI gives 50 free messages a day and runs on web, iOS and Android. If you want adult content under the app's own policy, OurDream AI allows it, starting with 55 Dreamcoins, though its help centre says it does not currently offer free dreamcoins.
