It's a roleplay app with custom characters and group chat, like Character AI, but its policy allows adult content, and its paid plans include image and video generation. If the content policy or the lack of video is what you wanted to "fix", this is a real answer rather than a workaround.

The case against is mostly about cost. Character AI lets you chat for free without limits. OurDream AI's free plan lists 55 Dreamcoins at 1 Dreamcoin a message, and its help centre adds that it doesn't currently offer free dreamcoins, so the two sources disagree. I'd plan on paying.

Standard Monthly is $19.99, with unlimited messages and 1,000 dreamcoins a month, or $119.88 a year on Standard Annual.

Here's the part that makes me cautious. Other reviewers report voice calls draining coins quickly, including auto-generated images during a call. If your frustration with Character AI was paying for things you didn't expect, keep an eye on that meter.

On the plus side, OurDream AI bills as DREAM STUDIO LLC AL, lets you cancel with a button on your profile page, and you still have access until the paid period runs out. Compared with Character AI's customer portal route for web subscribers, that's a shorter path.

My verdict: fix first, switch second. Give memory pins and a recap habit a fair go on Character AI. If what you need is outside its rules, OurDream AI makes a sensible landing spot, as long as you start monthly.

The Deluxe plans, at $59.99 a month or $359.88 a year, add voice minutes, videos and 3x chat memory, but I'd leave those alone until Standard has shown you it's worth keeping.

First, stop and wait a few minutes before sending again. Rapid retries tend to make these errors last longer, not shorter. Then reload the page or reopen the app.

If it keeps happening at the same time each day, it may simply be peak load, which lines up with the slow mode the free plan already mentions. c.ai+ lists the highest daily limits and no slow mode, so if the message keeps coming back and you use the app daily, that's the legitimate route.

The same honesty applies to reading mode. Nothing in the records describes a reading mode or how to fix one, so I'd rather not invent menu steps. If a view changed and you want it back, the app's own help centre is the place to look.

Make sure you're using the same sign-in method you used when you created the account. Update the app from the App Store or Google Play, then try again. If the phone app won't let you in, try the web version, since Character AI runs on web, iOS and Android.

If none of that works, contact support through the app's help centre, and have your account email ready.
