How to delete your PolyBuzz account, the safe way
Can you delete a PolyBuzz account?
Yes. PolyBuzz has a delete option right in the app: Settings > Delete Account. That is the whole official path on file, and I'm glad it sits in the regular settings rather than behind a support ticket or an email form.
The part that trips people up is not the button. It is everything around it. PolyBuzz sells plans through the App Store, Google Play and its own website, and nothing on file says that deleting the account also stops those charges. So the order you do things in matters more than the deletion itself.
Here is the short checklist I'd follow before you press anything:
- Cancel any paid plan where you bought it, whether that is the App Store, Google Play or the web
- Remember that coins and plan time already paid for will not be refunded
- Copy out any character details or story notes you want to keep, since no export is described
- Then open Settings and choose Delete Account
My take: deleting is easy, and cancelling is where the money is. A weekly plan at $4.99 renews fast, so if you are on one, do the cancel step today rather than next week. The deletion itself can wait a day; the renewal will not.
One more thing worth knowing: some data may outlive the account for a while. Per the privacy policy, backup copies can hang on until the next time the backup updates. I explain what that means further down.
If you are clearing out more than one app, my guide on wiping your Character AI chat history covers that platform step by step. The table right after this section lines PolyBuzz up against the other apps I cover, which helps if you are deciding where to go next rather than leaving companion apps altogether.

How do I delete my PolyBuzz account, step by step?
The official path is short: open Settings, then tap Delete Account. That is exactly how the privacy policy describes it, and it is the only path on record. What the records do not give is the wording of any confirmation screen, so I won't pretend to know what you will see after the tap.
What I can give you is the order that protects your wallet, based on how PolyBuzz bills:
- Bought a monthly plan on iPhone? In the phone's Settings app, tap your Apple ID, then Subscriptions, pick PolyBuzz and choose Cancel Subscription
- Bought it on Android? Go to the Google Play Store app, open the menu, then Subscriptions, pick PolyBuzz and cancel
- Bought a yearly plan on the web? That cancel path is not on file, so contact PolyBuzz before deleting
- Only on the free plan? Go straight to Settings > Delete Account
I like that the store routes are spelled out in the official FAQ. I don't like that the web route for the $99, $199 and $299 yearly plans is missing. Those are the biggest charges PolyBuzz takes, and they deserve the clearest exit.
How to delete your PolyBuzz account on PC or in Chrome
PolyBuzz runs on the web as well as on iOS and Android, so a PC or a Chrome window is a perfectly normal place to manage it. The records describe one deletion path, Settings > Delete Account, and they do not say it changes between the web and the apps. On a computer, I'd sign in on the official website, find Settings and look for the same option.
The billing catch is sharper on a PC, though. Yearly plans are sold through the web checkout, and their cancel path is the gap I mentioned above. If you paid on the web, sort that out with PolyBuzz first and only then delete. Deleting first could leave you with a plan you can no longer see from the account.
If you are still on the fence about leaving, my full PolyBuzz review covers what the free plan, coins and paid tiers really give you. The feature table below compares PolyBuzz with other apps on memory, voice and images.

Does deleting your account cancel your PolyBuzz subscription?
Not according to anything on file, and I would never assume it does. Under the terms, a premium plan renews on its own unless you cancel it by the final day of the subscription period at the latest. Deletion is not mentioned as a way to cancel.
Store subscriptions also live with Apple or Google, not inside the PolyBuzz account, which is why the official cancel steps start in the phone's Settings app or in Google Play.
So treat cancelling and deleting as two separate jobs. Here is how the PolyBuzz plans split by where you pay:
- Weekly and monthly plans: sold as in-app purchases, so they are cancelled through Apple or Google
- Yearly plans at $99, $199 and $299: sold through the web checkout, with no cancel path on record
- Coins: bought separately, from 1,000 coins for €2.59 up to 20,000 for €20.99
- Free plan: nothing to cancel, so deletion is the only step
After you cancel, you keep your benefits through the rest of the billing cycle you are in. That makes the timing easy: cancel as soon as you decide, then delete the account whenever you are ready.
One small tip: take a screenshot of the cancel confirmation in the store before you delete anything. If a charge ever shows up later, that screenshot and the store purchase history are your proof, and neither depends on a PolyBuzz account you no longer have.
The refund rule is the part I find mean. Under the terms, a completed purchase earns no refund without due reason, and cancelling the subscription afterwards doesn't bring the money back either. On a monthly plan that stings a little.
On a yearly Ultimate plan at $299, it is a real loss, which is why I'd never buy the year before a few months on monthly.
If price or the soft content level is what is pushing you out, you don't have to give up character chat altogether. My ranked list of apps like PolyBuzz sorts the options by what they do better and what they cost. The box right below sums up OurDream AI, one of the apps people often move to for group chat and video.

What happens to your data after you delete PolyBuzz?
The box above shows how another app lays out its basics. PolyBuzz is less tidy on privacy, and this is the section I would read twice before deleting. Personal information, per the privacy policy, is held only as long as its listed purposes need, unless the terms or the law say otherwise. There is no fixed number of days. Backup copies can also linger until the backup system gets its next update.
In plain words: pressing Delete Account removes the account, but some of your data may linger in backups for a while. How long that is, the records don't say. I'd like a clear number, the way some apps publish one, and its absence is a genuine weak spot.
It also helps to know what PolyBuzz collects in the first place. Input text is on the privacy policy's list of collected data, and the policy says photos and precise geolocation are collected to train its AI algorithm. It adds that third parties who help deliver features, the Chat-GPT platform among them, may receive information.
Whether your chat messages themselves train a model is not stated plainly, so I treat that as unclear rather than a no.
What does that mean for you? If you are deleting because of privacy worries, deletion is still the right move, just not a perfect eraser. For the time between now and when the backups roll over, there is nothing more you can do from the account side.
Going forward, on any app, my advice is the same: keep real names, addresses and photos of yourself out of chats, and don't give location access unless a feature truly needs it.
If you ever sign up again, you can start as a guest instead of registering. That keeps less tied to you from day one, and to me that's the wisest way to try an app like this.
For the same kind of plain steps on other apps, from cancelling plans to clearing data, my help guides for companion apps collect them app by app. I'd bookmark the one for any app before you hand it a card number.
Should you delete PolyBuzz or just stop paying?
It depends on why you are leaving, and I'd be honest with yourself about that before you tap anything permanent. If the problem is money, cancelling the plan may be all you need. Ordinary text messages on PolyBuzz never cost coins, and the free plan keeps text chat on the Standard model with ads, so you can step down without losing your characters.
If the problem is privacy, deletion is the stronger move, even with the backup caveat above. And if you simply don't use the app any more, I lean towards deleting too. An account you have forgotten about is still an account holding your data.
My rule: cancel for money reasons, delete for privacy reasons, and do both if you are done for good.
How does leaving PolyBuzz compare with leaving other apps?
Cancelling looks different on every app on this page, and PolyBuzz sits in the middle. Nomi AI spells out a web path from the profile icon to Manage Subscription and Cancel Subscription. SpicyChat sends you from Profile to Manage Subscription and then to the payment platform. Candy AI says you can cancel at any time under Settings / Unsubscribe. OurDream AI puts a "Cancel subscription" button on your profile page.
PolyBuzz explains the store routes well and leaves out the web route for its yearly plans. That gap matters most for the people who paid the most, which is exactly backwards in my view.
Refund rules differ even more. Candy AI gives users outside the EU and UK 24 hours after payment to ask for a refund. OurDream AI offers a 14-day Quality Guarantee, which it judges case by case. PolyBuzz, Nomi AI and SpicyChat lean towards no refunds.
If a clean exit matters to you, those differences are worth more than a dollar or two on the monthly price.
If you want to see how I weigh cancel paths and refund rules when I rate an app, my method for reading app records explains it. A clear exit is one of the things I value most, because it tells you how a company treats people who leave.
Leaving PolyBuzz because of the content level?
That is a common reason, and a fair one. PolyBuzz keeps its content on the soft side, and paying for a higher tier does not change that. If you want something more grown-up, deleting and moving on is more sensible than hunting for workarounds, which break an app's terms and can cost you the account anyway.
Among the other apps on this page, SpicyChat, Nomi AI and OurDream AI list adult content as allowed, and Candy AI and GirlfriendGPT allow it on paid plans. SpicyChat is the closest in spirit to PolyBuzz, with unlimited text chat on its free plan and a roleplay focus, so it is where I would look first if you love the community side.
A lot of people leaving character apps are also weighing Character AI, which has its own strict rules. I answer that one in will Character AI allow NSFW?, so you don't swap one soft app for another by accident.
Can you get a deleted PolyBuzz account back?
The records do not say, and that silence is itself my answer: plan as if you cannot. Nothing on file describes a grace period or a way to restore a deleted account. Treat Delete Account as final, and make sure you have everything you want before you use it.
Also, uninstalling is not the same as deleting. Removing PolyBuzz from your phone leaves the account, your characters and any running plan exactly where they were. If you want out properly, use Settings > Delete Account first and uninstall afterwards, never the other way round.
The characters you built are the thing most people regret losing. Nothing in the records describes an export, so copy the personality, story and appearance notes somewhere safe first. If you ever come back, starting over is not too painful: making a character on PolyBuzz is free, and the app can import characters from Character.AI, Pygmalion and other services.
Coins deserve a thought too. Nothing on file says unspent coins survive a deletion or can be refunded, so I would use them up or accept losing them. The questions below cover the rest of what people ask before deleting a PolyBuzz account.
Common questions
Can you delete a PolyBuzz account?
Yes. PolyBuzz lets you delete your account under Settings > Delete Account. Before you do, cancel any paid plan where you bought it, because nothing on file says deletion stops the billing. Backup copies can survive until the next backup update, so deletion is not instant everywhere.
How do I delete my PolyBuzz account on PC or Chrome?
PolyBuzz works on the web, so you can sign in on a computer and use the same path: Settings, then Delete Account. The records describe one deletion path and do not say it differs by device. If you bought a yearly plan through the web checkout, sort out that subscription with PolyBuzz first, since its cancel path is not on file.
Does deleting my PolyBuzz account cancel my subscription?
Nothing on file says so. Plans renew automatically unless cancelled on or before the last day of the period. On iOS, cancel in the Settings app under your Apple ID and Subscriptions. On Android, cancel in the Google Play Store app under Subscriptions. You keep the benefits until that billing cycle runs out.
Can I get a refund when I delete PolyBuzz?
Very unlikely. The terms say users are not entitled to a refund for a completed purchase without due reason, and that payments are not refunded even if the subscription is cancelled later. Cancel early and avoid yearly plans unless you are sure.
What does PolyBuzz keep after I delete my account?
Only as long as its stated purposes need, per the privacy policy, unless the terms or the law say otherwise; it gives no fixed number of days. Backup copies can stick around until the next backup update. The policy also lists input text among collected data.
Can I restore a deleted PolyBuzz account?
No way to restore one is described anywhere on file, so treat deletion as final. Save any character notes you want to keep beforehand, since no export is described. If you return later, creating characters is free and PolyBuzz can import characters from Character.AI and other services.
