How much does an AI girlfriend app cost? Real prices, plainly

Here is the rough map I would keep in your head:

• Free: every app here, though some free tiers are generous and some end after a handful of messages
• First paid month: mostly between €13.99 and $19.99, with SpicyChat's $5.95 as the low outlier
• Yearly plans: as low as €3.99 a month on Candy AI's 12-Month Plan, billed €47.88 upfront
• Top tiers: $50.00 a month for GirlfriendGPT Elite and $59.99 for OurDream AI Deluxe Monthly

My take: the monthly sticker price is only half the story. Several apps add a currency on top, like tokens, coins, dreamcoins or Neurons, and those pay for images, video or voice. That is where a $15.00 plan can quietly become something bigger, and it is the part I would look at before you pay.

Voice is a good example. Nomi AI keeps voice calls on its paid plan, and OurDream AI's Deluxe Annual bundles 100 minutes of voice calls. If talking out loud is what you want, check which plan includes it, because it changes the real price a lot.

Candy AI lists voice calls as a feature too, but nothing on file says how much calling each plan covers, so read the plan page before you count on it. My explainer on how AI companion voice calls work covers what to expect from them.

The table right after this section puts all six apps side by side, with their starting prices, so you can see the spread at a glance.

• Nomi AI: 50 messages a day, up to 400 characters each, 2 images a day, and no ads, with no end date
• SpicyChat: as much text chat as you like on the Default model, with ads and sometimes a queue, but no images or voice
• GirlfriendGPT: 30 coins when you join, 20 bonus messages with no expiry, and Daily Login adds 10 a day
• OurDream AI: 55 Dreamcoins to start, at 1 Dreamcoin per message, though its help centre says it does not currently offer free dreamcoins, so that number may change
• Candy AI: a total of 3-5 messages plus 3-5 images, never reset, and no video

Joi AI sits apart: a free account starts with 10 Neurons in the balance and includes 6 lifetime image generations, stored for 7 days.

The others are previews, and I'd rather say so plainly. The few messages Candy AI gives you show its style, not to get to know a character. OurDream AI's starting coins cover 55 messages, if they are offered when you join.

GirlfriendGPT gives more, especially if you log in daily, but its terms say that once you hit the limit you cannot continue chatting without earning more credits.

My advice: use the free plans to judge tone and comfort before you pay anything. Does the app let you shape the character the way you want? Does it feel welcoming for you, whoever you like? Cheapest is not automatically best. Get a Taste drops the ads and brings a memory manager, but in-chat images only arrive with True Supporter, at $19.95 a month. The Nomi AI plan includes voice calls and 40 image credits a day. So compare what you would actually use, not the entry number.

For me, a fair first month for a full-featured companion lands somewhere between €13.99 and $19.99. Anything above that should earn its price with voice minutes, video or a lot more memory. I would also ask one question before paying: does the plan let you build the character you want, with the look and personality that suits you? If not, the price is wrong at any level.

The Nomi AI Standard Plan Yearly is $99.99, or $8.33 a month. Get a Taste on SpicyChat drops to $5.00 a month when paid yearly.

Those are good prices. The catch is refunds, which are strict almost everywhere. Nomi AI says all payments are nonrefundable except as stated in its agreement. GirlfriendGPT won't refund a paid subscription, apart from a few limited cases.

If you buy a year and stop enjoying the app in week two, that money is usually gone.

My rule: one paid month first, then the year only if you are still opening the app every few days. The saving is worth it once you know. It is a gamble before you do.

What the records mostly do not give is the price of each action in tokens. So I cannot tell you that a picture costs a set number of tokens on each app, and I will not guess. What I can tell you is what other reviewers report about how fast the currencies go.

One OurDream AI account says voice calls eat through coins quickly, and on Joi AI the Neurons are gone even when an image fails.

On Candy AI, about 1 in 8 image generations reportedly come back with visible errors, with no free retry. If that is right, I would budget for re-rolls rather than assume every token turns into a usable picture.

If you mostly text, the subscription is close to your real cost. Unlimited text is included on Candy AI, OurDream AI Standard and Nomi AI Standard, so the sticker price is the whole bill.

If you want pictures now and then, look at the monthly allowance that comes with your plan and treat it as your budget. A small allowance used well beats a big one wasted. When it runs out, you either wait for next month or buy more.

Costs climb fastest when calls or video are what you're after. OurDream AI's Deluxe Annual bundles 50 videos with 100 voice-call minutes, which is a clearer deal than paying per use, but it is $359.88 a year.

Outside the EU and UK, Candy AI allows a refund request within 24 hours of paying. OurDream AI has a 14-day "Quality Guarantee", where support looks at requests case by case. Nomi AI says payments are nonrefundable and it does not refund for lack of usage or dissatisfaction. SpicyChat will not refund fees once you have used the account. Joi AI treats a subscription as generally non-refundable from the moment it is activated.

I do not love these rules. OurDream AI's 14 days is the kindest, Candy AI's 24 hours is tight, and the rest are close to no refunds at all. So the smart move is to treat every first payment as final. Plan for that, and nothing on this list will surprise you.

Then check the billing name. Each app shows a name on your card statement: EverAI for Candy AI, DREAM STUDIO LLC AL for OurDream AI, NOMI.AI for Nomi AI, NDAI.CC for GirlfriendGPT, NDAI.CHAT for SpicyChat and joi.com for Joi AI. If you share a card or a banking app, a neutral name like EverAI is easier to live with.

On Candy AI, it is Settings, then Unsubscribe. On OurDream AI, it is your profile page and "Cancel subscription". On Nomi AI's web version, it is the Profile icon, Subscription tab, Manage Subscription, then Cancel Subscription. On SpicyChat, Profile then Manage Subscription, which sends you to the payment platform. On Joi AI, look for My Subscriptions in your account.

What you get for it is broad. Every plan includes unlimited text messages, custom companions, image and video generation, and 100 tokens a month. Adult content needs a paid plan, so the free account will not show you that side of the app.

The free account is the weak spot for me. You get 3-5 messages and the same number of images for the whole account, and they don't reset daily. You will know whether you like the style, but not whether the memory holds up.

And memory is the question I would want answered. Other reviewers say a character stays consistent for about 10-20 messages, then details can slip as chats get longer. They rate the voice and call audio highly too, calling it expressive, which counts for a lot if you want to hear your companion.

My verdict on value: if you already know you like Candy AI, the 12-Month Plan at €47.88 is very hard to beat on price. If you do not know yet, pay for one month at €13.99 first. The refund window outside the EU and UK is only 24 hours, so a full year bought on a whim is a risky way to save money.

Candy AI is a web app with no iOS or Android version, so no store subscription sits in the middle; you deal with Candy AI directly. For me, the custom companion tools are the part that justify the price. You build the character yourself, which makes it easy to shape someone who fits you rather than a default the app picked for you.

Deluxe Annual goes much further: 5,000 dreamcoins monthly, 50 videos, 100 voice-call minutes and 3x chat memory, at $29.99 a month billed as $359.88 a year. Deluxe Monthly costs $59.99.

The free start is small and uncertain. Its free plan promises 55 Dreamcoins to start and charges 1 Dreamcoin per message, yet the help centre says no free dreamcoins are currently offered. One reviewer who looked at it in 2025 and again in 2026 describes the free tier as much thinner now. I would go in expecting a short preview.

The coin meter is my main caution. Images, video and voice all run on coins, and one account describes voice calls draining them fast, including images the reviewer had not asked for during a call. If voice is your thing, Deluxe's bundled minutes make more sense than topping up.

The good news is that OurDream AI's refund policy is the friendliest on this page: a 14-day "Quality Guarantee" with case-by-case credits or refunds. Cancelling takes one click on your profile page, and the plan stays usable for the rest of the period you paid for. The charge appears as DREAM STUDIO LLC AL.

For someone who likes building from scratch, the price buys a lot of creative room: custom characters and group chat are both included features. I like that you can set up a companion who fits you, whoever you are into, rather than picking from someone else's idea of a girlfriend.

My verdict: if you want images, video, voice and group chat in one place, I'd give OurDream AI one paid month on Standard, then a look at your coin balance before deciding on Deluxe. It also runs on web, iOS and Android, the widest choice of devices on this page. Nomi AI even lists an API, which matters more to tinkerers.

Paying makes sense once the daily cap starts to pinch. For $15.99, the Standard Plan Monthly lifts the message cap, allows 800 characters a message, voice calls, up to 10 active Nomis, up to 10 group chats and 40 image credits a day. Quarterly works out to $13.33 a month and yearly to $8.33, billed as $99.99.

The quarterly plan at $39.99 is the middle ground I would pick if a full year feels like too much: it saves money against monthly without locking you in for 12 months.

What you are paying for is mostly conversation. Published reviews call its chat natural and fluid, with a long-term memory that raises things on its own. Images are weaker: a ready-made gallery, no prompts of your own, and voice calls reportedly lag 15-20 seconds between message and reply. If voice is your priority, that is worth knowing before you pay.

Two cautions on money. Nomi AI says all payments are nonrefundable, with no refunds for lack of usage or dissatisfaction, so the free plan is your only real trial. And one reviewer describes payment taking up to three days to process because of a card error unrelated to their own card.

My verdict: start free, stay free as long as 50 messages a day feels like enough, and go yearly only once you are sure. Patience pays here. On a statement it shows as NOMI.AI.
