Character AI jailbreak prompt: what to do instead

A prompt that tries to trick the model is working against the app's own rules, and that is how accounts get banned.

Think about what sits on a typical account before you gamble it:

• Every character you built yourself, plus the group chats you set up
• Your whole chat history with each character
• Up to 30 memory pins on either paid tier, (c.ai) lite or c.ai+
• A subscription you can't get refunded, unless the law says otherwise

That's a lot to risk for a trick that, at best, bends one reply. The official FAQ promises every user free messaging with no cap, which is genuinely generous. I'd much rather keep that than lose it over a pasted script.

Unlimited free chat is not something every app offers, and once an account is closed, there is no guarantee you can simply start again with the same history.

So what's the honest route if you want a different content level? Pick an app whose policy allows it. Just below this section, a comparison table sets Character AI beside five apps with a different content policy, so you can see at a glance which ones allow adult content and whether they want a subscription for it.

Here's what each plan changes, and what it doesn't:

• Free: no message cap on PipSqueak 2 or PipSqueak 2 Rawr, paid for with full ads, slow mode and fewer daily features
• (c.ai) lite, $4.99 monthly: a set number of premium chat-style messages each day, fewer ads, 30 memory pins, chat customization
• c.ai+, $9.99 monthly: no ads, unlimited premium chat styles, the highest daily limits, no slow mode, premium support
• c.ai+ Annual: $94.99 up front, roughly $7.92 a month

Not one of those plans lists a change to the content level. So if someone tells you c.ai+ loosens the filter, I'd be sceptical. What you pay for is speed, memory and fewer interruptions. I actually think $4.99 or $9.99 is fair for that, as long as you know what you're buying.

The mistake is paying in the hope that the content line moves, then finding out the payment can't be refunded.

My take is that Character AI is a good app used for the wrong thing when people try this. It has voice calls, image features, group chat and characters you build yourself, all on file. Used for adventure, drama, slow romance or plain conversation, few apps in the category give you this much for free.

• Nomi AI allows adult content under its policy and has a permanent free plan of 50 messages a day, each capped at 400 characters, with no ads. Standard is $15.99 monthly or $99.99 yearly.
• SpicyChat allows it too. The Default model chats free without limit, though you'll see ads and may wait in a queue; paid plans cost $5.95 up to $29.95 monthly.
• OurDream AI allows it. The free plan lists 55 Dreamcoins to start at 1 Dreamcoin a message, but its help centre says it does not currently offer free dreamcoins, so treat that start as uncertain. Standard Monthly is $19.99.
• GirlfriendGPT allows it on paid plans only; Premium at $15.00 a month lists NSFW chat and 5,000 messages.
• Candy AI keeps it for subscribers. The 1-Month Plan is €13.99, and the 12-month plan is €47.88 upfront in its current sale.

For someone coming from Character AI, I'd look at SpicyChat first. It feels closest in spirit: character-driven roleplay and a free plan that doesn't count your messages. Other reviewers report that few free tiers they covered come close to its generosity, which fits what the official pages say.

Nomi AI is my pick if you care more about one steady companion than a big character library. A cap of 50 messages a day is enough for an evening, and no ads on free is rare.

I'd hold off on Candy AI and GirlfriendGPT until you know you'll use them, since the adult side only opens after you pay. Check their refund rules first: Candy AI's non-EU/UK terms give 24 hours to ask for a refund.

The cost of a ban is bigger than it looks. You lose the characters you created, the chats that hold your stories, and any memory pins you set up. A c.ai+ subscriber loses money as well.

Character AI keeps payments unless the law says it must return them, and per the help centre, refunds for store purchases go through Apple or Google rather than Character AI. So a banned paying account may simply mean a subscription you can't get back.

There's also a quieter risk. Prompts copied from forums and comment threads are written by strangers, and you have no idea what else is in them. My advice is to never paste a long script from an unknown source into an app that holds your chat history. That's just basic caution with anything you run.

The same goes for browser add-ons or third-party tools that promise to unlock things: if the app's own settings don't offer it, I would leave it alone.

My opinion, plainly: the trade isn't worth it. Character AI gives unlimited free messaging, and that alone is worth protecting. If the filter is a dealbreaker for you, the grown-up move is to keep your Character AI account for the chats it's good at and open a second account on an app built for adult content.

One more thing that helps: be clear about what you actually want. If it's romance with some heat, a soft or adult-policy app will serve you better. If it's long adventure stories, Character AI may already be the right place, and the filter will rarely get in your way.

Build your own character instead of using a popular one. A clear personality and a well-written backstory give the model something to work with, and it's fully within the rules. Give the character a goal, a few habits and a voice of their own, and the replies tend to follow that shape across a long chat.

Use group chat for stories with several characters. That's on file as a feature, and it suits adventure and drama well.

If memory frustrates you, look at what (c.ai) lite gives for $4.99 a month: 30 memory pins and fewer ads. That's the cheapest way to make long stories hold together. Other reviewers report long conversations sometimes drift even with Auto Memories switched on, so I'd keep expectations modest.

I'd rather put your time into something that lasts. Either shape your stories to fit Character AI's line, or pick an app where the line sits where you want it. Both are honest options. Chasing prompts isn't.

What I'd say to a friend: if Character AI's characters are what you love, keep using it for the stories it's built for. Adventure, mystery, slow-burn romance and banter all work fine inside its line. You don't need a trick for any of that.

Here is the short path I'd take instead:

Stay on Character AI's free plan if unlimited character chat is what you value most. It costs nothing and there's no message cap on file.

Try Nomi AI or SpicyChat on their free plans if adult content matters to you. Both allow it under their policy, so there's nothing to get around.

Pay for Candy AI or GirlfriendGPT only after you know you'll use them, since their adult content sits behind a subscription.

If you're torn, give each free plan a few evenings before any subscription. Nomi AI's yearly plan at $99.99 brings the monthly cost down, but I'd only commit once you're sure.

That's it. Keep the app you like for what it does well, and use a different one for what it won't do. It's cheaper, safer and a lot less frustrating than chasing a script that stops working next week.
