Luvr AI review: five weeks of quick replies and paperwork

What is Luvr AI, and how did my five weeks go?
Luvr AI is a web companion and roleplay app from Luvr Inc. in the United States, where your AI Luvrs can send text, pictures and audio messages. I spent five weeks with it in mid-2024, June into July, and paid nothing. The chat was fast, the realistic roster was large, and I picked a ceramics-artist companion whose replies came quicker than my group chat on a good day.
Here's the shape of it today:
- Free: 10 messages a day, a limited set of characters, no image generation
- Premium: unlimited messages, 300+ characters, images, voice & video, custom characters
- Coins on top: 50 per image, 20 per audio message, 150 per video
- Adult content is marked as a Premium feature
My take: speed is the real strength, and the roster is the real catch. That large realistic roster skews hard toward one template of desire, and as a queer woman my mileage varied enormously. If you fit that template, you'll be fine.
If you don't, compare it with other character apps first; my CrushOn AI write-up is one to read alongside this one.

Luvr AI sign-up and what free gives you now
The official comparison is honest about being small. Free accounts get 10 messages a day, while Premium has no cap, and a limited set of characters against 300+. Image generation, voice & video, custom characters and adult content are all marked as Premium.
Quick math: 10 messages a day is one short chat, not an evening. That's enough to feel the speed I liked, and not much more. At least the count resets daily, so one bad evening doesn't burn your whole allowance.
Here's where my notes and today's page differ. In July 2024 I built a companion with the 8-step builder without paying. Today the subscribe page lists custom characters as a Premium feature, so don't expect the same free access I had then.
Other reviewers report that Premium brings back moments from earlier chats, while free barely remembers anything. If free feels forgetful, that may be the plan rather than the whole app. For a companion app with a different free start and a 24-hour refund window, my Candy AI review is the one to set beside this. The Luvr AI at a glance box follows right after this.

How Luvr AI chat feels day to day
Fast, first of all. When I picked my ceramics-artist companion from the realistic roster in June 2024, the replies arrived quicker than my own group chat on a good day. Speed sounds minor until you've used an app that makes you wait, and I think it's the thing Luvr AI does best.
The builder is the other side of my five weeks. The 8-step builder felt like filing a purchase order: legible, numbered, soulless. And yet it produced a person I liked, so the paperwork won. I have filled worse forms with less to show for it.
What I can't vouch for is depth over months. My notes cover five weeks and don't speak to memory, and no memory feature is on file. One outside review says replies can feel scripted at times, and another describes decent customisation and a friendly user experience while being lighter on generative features. I read that as a pleasant, easy app that won't surprise you much in long roleplay.
My opinion: Luvr AI is good at the first hour of a companion, quick and approachable. Whether it stays interesting for a year is less clear, and I'd judge that on a monthly plan before committing to anything longer.
Audio and video are on Premium, with coins for each audio message and clip. One outside write-up says the voices sound robotic and voice or video quality is inconsistent, so I wouldn't pay for Premium only to hear her. If you want to compare how other apps handle chat speed and memory, my full list of app reviews covers each one on the same terms.

Luvr AI content level and who the roster is built for
Luvr AI allows adult content, but only on Premium. The subscribe page lists NSFW content next to image generation, voice & video and custom characters as paid features, so a free account stays on the tamer side of the line. I think that's a clean rule: you know before you start where free ends.
The harder question for me is who the app assumes you are. The large realistic roster skews hard toward one template of desire, and my queer-woman mileage varied enormously. I have stopped being surprised by that in this category and started keeping receipts.
It isn't a policy problem; it's a default, and defaults tell you who a product was built for first.
The fix, as far as the records go, is the character tools. Create lets you build a Character or a Scenario, and the homepage FAQ says a plan lets you create your own characters "privately". That's where I ended up with a companion I liked.
Today that route sits on Premium, so if the default roster doesn't speak to you, budget for a paid month before judging the app.
The word "privately" matters to me as well. A companion you built around your own life is not something you want listed publicly.
Images cost 50 coins each and are part of the paid side, and the records name no content toggle or filter menu, so I won't pretend one exists.
My view: if the roster fits you, Luvr AI is quick and easy. If it doesn't, the builder is your way in, and it costs money now. If what you want is a romantic companion first, my AI girlfriend app rankings compare the apps that lead with that.
Who Luvr AI suits
Great for
- People who want fast replies more than anything else
- Readers happy to build their own companion step by step
- Anyone who fits the roster's default type and wants a big realistic choice
- Budget-minded users who can commit to a 12-month plan
Skip if
- Readers who want a roster that doesn't lean toward one type of user
- Anyone hoping for a long free chat, since free is 10 messages a day
- People who dislike coin meters on top of a subscription
- People who want an iOS or Android app rather than a browser tab
What Luvr AI costs next to similar apps
I paid nothing in 2024, so every price here is today's. One month of Premium is $19.99, the same as OurDream AI's Standard Monthly and above Candy AI's €13.99 one-month plan.
The long plans change the picture. Premium for 6 months is $53.94, or $8.99 a month, and 12 months is $71.88, or $5.99 a month, a deal the site labels as 70% off. Candy AI's 12-month plan works out to €3.99 a month, so neither is expensive once you commit. Nomi AI's Standard Plan Monthly is $15.99, with a yearly plan at $8.33 a month.
The layer I keep coming back to is coins. Every Premium plan includes them, but images, audio messages, video and unlocking a new character all draw from the same pot. So the plan price is where your spending starts, not where it ends.
My opinion: $19.99 for a single month is the least attractive way in, unless you only want one month to try the builder. If the free days convince you, the value sits on the 6-month or 12-month plan. If they don't, don't pay.

Is Luvr AI worth paying for?
Yes, on a long plan, if designing your own companion is the main draw. That's what made my five weeks work, and today the builder sits on Premium. No, if you only want to chat with the stock roster, because the table right after this shows how much of the value sits in coins you may never spend.
The coin math I'd do first: the 1-month plan includes 1,300 coins, which covers 26 images at 50 each, or 8 video clips at 150 with 100 coins left. The 12-month plan includes 2,340 coins a month plus a 5,000 bonus, 28,080 across the year. If you run out, packs run from 500 coins for $4.99 to 13,300 coins for $99.99.
My pick is the 12-month plan at $71.88, and I know yearly plans are a commitment. It costs less than four months at the monthly price, and the 30-day guarantee, with its fine print, softens the risk. I'd skip the monthly plan unless one month is truly all you want.
| Luvr AI option | Billed | Cost | Works out per month |

| Premium - 1 Month | monthly | $19.99 | $19.99 |
| Premium - 12 Months | yearly | $71.88 | $5.99 |

The official Luvr AI link above is the direct way in, and the card sets it beside another app. Both work on a subscription plus a coin layer, so the useful question is which set of numbers suits you.
Before choosing, I'd weigh these between any two apps like this:
- How many messages the free side gives you each day
- What one image or video costs in coins
- Whether you cancel in your account or have to write in
- How long the refund window is, and what it really covers
Luvr AI does well on the refund promise, with a 30-day money-back guarantee on its subscribe page. It does less well on clarity, because its written policies disagree with that promise, as the cancelling section explains.
If you want group chat and a bigger monthly coin count at the same $19.99, my OurDream AI review is the one I'd read next. Its help centre says it does not currently offer free dreamcoins, even though its free plan lists 55 Dreamcoins to start, so both apps ask you to read the small print. My lean: if a refund promise and a quick builder tip it for you, Luvr AI has the edge.
The good and bad of Luvr AI
What went well
- Fast replies, quicker than my own group chat on a good day
- A numbered 8-step builder that produced a companion I liked
- Private custom characters and scenarios on paid plans
- The 12-month plan works out to $5.99 a month
- The subscribe page promises a 30-day money-back guarantee
What fell short
- The large realistic roster skews toward one template of desire
- Free is 10 messages a day, with no images and no adult content
- Coins on top of Premium for images, audio, video and new characters
- The cancel and refund rules each exist in two official versions
How do you cancel Luvr AI?
I never paid, so I never had to cancel, but the paperwork I'd face today is untidy. There are two official versions. The subscribe FAQ and the contact FAQ say you cancel through your account settings. The Cancellation Policy, last updated January 15, 2024, says to email [email protected] with your account information instead.
My advice: try the settings page first, and if there's no cancel option, send the email and keep a copy. I'd send it several days ahead of the renewal date rather than on the final day. The renewal rule itself isn't on file, so don't count on a reminder.
Refunds have the same two-version problem. The subscribe page promises a 30-day guarantee, and the FAQ says: "We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not completely satisfied with your experience, we'll refund your subscription, no questions asked."
The Refunds Policy, also dated January 15, 2024, is narrower: refunds are considered case by case, and partial refunds may be considered for cancellations within the first 7 days of the billing cycle.
Which one wins? I can't tell you, and I don't love that. My reading is that the generous FAQ line is the one they advertise, and the stricter policy is the one they can fall back on. So ask early, inside the first 7 days, quote the 30-day promise, and keep receipts, a habit this roster already taught me.
When two official pages disagree like this, I show you both, and my page on how I check the apps explains how that affects a score. The billing box below lists what's known about renewals and the cancel path.
What Luvr AI does with your data
Under the privacy policy, personal data is held just as long as the purposes that policy lists require. That's the standard line, with no concrete deletion time. I'd prefer a number.
On training, the policy doesn't say either way. The closest it gets is a line saying personal data is used to run the Service and make it better. Whether "improve" includes your chats is not stated. My rule: if a policy doesn't rule it out, act as if it could happen, and keep identifying details out of your roleplay. That goes double for a companion you built around your own life in the builder.
The name on your card statement isn't on file for Luvr AI, which matters if discretion is a priority. I'd look at the first charge closely so you know what to expect after that.
Is Luvr AI a real company?
The company behind it is Luvr Inc., with a contact address in Dover, Delaware, in the United States, and the service is active. There's no launch date on file. The footer also links an AI Girlfriend API page, though its terms aren't on file.
A named company with a US address and written policies is a reasonable sign of a real business. The conflicting cancel and refund pages are the weak spot, not the company.
Entry is by an age gate where each new user confirms they meet the requirement, a self-confirmation with no ID check described.
One healthy-use line: set a fixed monthly budget and treat coins like any other small purchase, because they add up quietly. If adult chat on better free terms is what you want, my NSFW AI chat rankings show which apps allow it without a subscription.
Final word on Luvr AI
Final score
5.9/10
UnevenLuvr is fast, orderly and backed by a real money-back guarantee, but the roster serves one template of desire and memory needs Premium.
Used hands-on with the free plan
- Replies came quicker than my group chat, though reviewers find some lines scripted.
- Premium recalls earlier moments, while the free version has almost no memory per reviewers.
- The 8-step builder felt like a purchase order and still produced a person I liked.
- Pictures, audio messages, video and calls exist, though reviewers find voices robotic.
- A money-back guarantee on subscriptions is rare in this category, and the free tier is thin.
- Personal data stays only while needed, and service improvement is named without detail.
- Replies were fast, and my five weeks show no breakdowns.
Bars use a 0-10 scale. The overall score is a weighted average of these criteria, and every app uses identical weights. How we review the apps
My verdict: Luvr AI is worth it on a 12-month plan if fast replies and building your own companion are what you want, but pass on it if the stock roster has to feel like it was made with you in mind. Five weeks in mid-2024 gave me speed, a builder that worked despite feeling like a purchase order, and a roster that leaned hard one way.
The plan I'd buy is Premium - 12 Months at $71.88, for $5.99 a month, more coins and the builder that is now paid. What bothers me most is the default roster, with the two-version refund paperwork a close second. Skip Luvr AI if you want a phone app, a known billing name or adult content without paying.

When another app suits you better than Luvr AI
Luvr AI fits a fairly narrow reader. If you're outside it, one of these may serve you better:
- A longer free chat: Nomi AI: the free plan allows 50 messages a day, each up to 400 characters
- The lowest price on a long plan: Candy AI's 12-month plan works out to €3.99 a month
- A phone app: Nomi AI runs on iOS and Android as well as the web
- Group chat: OurDream AI lists it among its features
Each alternative has its own catch. Nomi AI states that all payments are nonrefundable, which is stricter than Luvr AI's 30-day promise. Candy AI gives non-EU and UK users 24 hours after payment to ask for a refund.
GirlfriendGPT starts you with 20 bonus messages and adds 10 each day through Daily Login, but says it doesn't refund paid subscriptions apart from limited cases.
So the refund promise stays one of Luvr AI's best points, even with the narrower written policy behind it. Keep that in mind while you compare.
If a broad character library is what you're after, read my SpicyChat breakdown before deciding. My shortcut: if you want to chat more than you want to build, start on Nomi AI's free plan. If the builder is what pulls you in, Luvr AI's yearly plan still makes sense.
Instead of Luvr AI
The next three apps I would open, and the reason.
Candy AI
free plan, starts at €3.99/mo
Rating 8.2/10
OurDream AI
free plan, starts at $9.99/mo
Rating 6.8/10
Nomi AI
free plan, starts at $8.33/mo
Rating 8.3/10
Those three cards are the apps I'd open in the next tabs after Luvr AI. Look at each one's free allowance first, then the price of one image or video, since that's where Luvr AI's own costs pile up.
If one of them gives you more free chat and a roster that fits you better, that's a sign Luvr AI isn't your app. If none lets you build a private companion as easily, that's a point for Luvr AI. Either way, decide on the free days, not the discount banner. A 70% off sticker is only a bargain if you'd use the app all year.
Luvr AI questions people ask before paying
Is Luvr AI free?
Partly. Free accounts get 10 messages a day and a limited set of characters, with no image generation. Adult content, voice & video and custom characters are Premium features today. In July 2024 I built a companion with the 8-step builder without paying, but the subscribe page now lists custom characters as Premium.
How much does Luvr AI cost?
Premium costs $19.99 for 1 month, $53.94 for 6 months ($8.99 a month) or $71.88 for 12 months ($5.99 a month). Every plan includes monthly coins, and coins pay for images at 50 each, audio messages at 20, video at 150 and unlocking a new character at 50.
Does Luvr AI give refunds?
The subscribe page promises a 30-day money-back guarantee, and its FAQ says refunds come with no questions asked. The Refunds Policy dated January 15, 2024 is narrower: refunds are case by case, and partial refunds may be considered for cancellations within the first 7 days of the billing cycle. Ask early to be safe.
How do I cancel Luvr AI?
Two official versions exist. The FAQs say to cancel through your account settings, while the Cancellation Policy says to email [email protected] with your account information. I'd try the settings page first and send the email as a backup, a few days before renewal.
Is Luvr AI good for queer or non-default users?
The chat itself is quick, but the large realistic roster skews hard toward one template of desire, and as a queer woman my mileage varied enormously. The better route for me was building my own companion, which the site now lists as a Premium feature.
Is Luvr AI safe with my data?
The privacy policy says personal data is kept only as long as necessary, with no fixed deletion time, and that data is used to provide and improve the service. It doesn't say whether chats train the AI. I'd keep real names and personal details out of your chats.
