FunFun AI: three weeks of fun, then a plan I forgot

In October 2025 I paid $71.88 for a yearly FunFun AI plan on the website and used it actively for three weeks. Then I stopped opening it, and the annual plan kept quietly running for eleven more months until my September subscription audit caught it. $71.88 wiser, which is $5.99 times twelve, and yes, I did the math twice.

So this is a review from someone who liked the app enough to pay and then forgot it was there. Both halves matter. My quick take: the characters and the one-tap pictures are genuinely fun, and a yearly plan is very easy to lose track of, so plan your exit on the day you buy.

What I cover below:

  • What the free start gives you, and why nobody can tell you its size
  • How the chat and the preset characters felt in my three weeks
  • Premium on iOS next to the web price I paid
  • The 24-hour refund rule and what becomes of your data once you leave

If you want a chat-first comparison open in another tab, my CrushOn AI write-up is the natural second read.

What does FunFun AI give you for free?

A free tier exists, but the site never says how big it is. The only clue is that Premium lists "Unlimited messages" as a benefit, which means free messaging has a cap. Outside sources call the free tier limited, without numbers.

My own time with the app was on the paid plan, so I cannot fill that gap from experience either.

I find that frustrating. A free start is only honest if you know where it ends, and here you find out when it stops. My advice: open a chat with the one character or feature you care about and skip the small talk.

You can sign up in a browser or through the iOS app; no Android app is listed, so Android readers use the browser. Credits pay for media, and the site does not publish what an image or a new character costs. The FunFun AI at a glance box collects the rest, including the content policy and platforms.

If you would rather know the price of every message up front, OurDream AI and its coin-per-message model at least spells it out: 1 Dreamcoin per message.

How I check the apps

Is FunFun AI fun to talk to?

The preset companions have real personality, and that's the chat's strongest point by far. The one I picked roasted my taste in fantasy sequels with the confidence of a regular patron, and I respected it enough to almost renew on purpose. Almost. For a text chat, that kind of cheek is exactly what I want.

Building your own is a different mood. The character wizard has 7 steps, and it reads exactly like the acquisition forms I file at the library, which is either laziness on their part or targeted outreach to me specifically. Other reviewers report that what a character costs in credits is only revealed near the end of that setup flow. I would rather see a price on step one than on step seven.

The creation page sits behind a Premium benefit literally called "Create AI Girlfriends", and that name assumes one kind of reader. I would love the wording to be as open as the 14-language interface, which runs from Arabic and Hebrew to Korean and Swedish.

On memory, the iOS listing promises companions will remember your likes and dislikes, and one outside review found that short-term recall worked, with a stated preference remembered later in the chat. I would call that promising rather than proven.

The bigger gap is sound. There is no live voice-call feature on the official pages; the Terms mention AI-generated voice messages and nothing more. If you need to hear her, look elsewhere, and better to learn that now than after paying.

For how other companions compare on chat and memory, my full shelf of app reviews sets them side by side.

18+ readers only. Here we look at AI companion apps that include NSFW features; there are no explicit images.

What does FunFun AI allow, and how do the pictures work?

FunFun AI allows adult content, and its policy does not reserve that for a special tier. What Premium adds is "remove image blur", which tells you free users see some images blurred. I prefer a visible difference like that to fine print. The age gate in the Terms is a self-declaration, with no ID step described.

The pictures are the part I would warn a friend about, in a nice way. One-tap picture requests are dangerously frictionless. I generated my companion holding my to-be-read stack, and it is still my wallpaper, which I, twenty-nine and queer, lie about at parties like a professional.

That is the app at its best: quick, playful and a little too easy to keep tapping. Credits pay for media, so frictionless also means easy to spend.

The ready-made library leans one way. Other reviewers report it is photoreal only, with 337 characters, no anime and no search. If you like stylised characters, building your own with the wizard is the way around it, credit cost and all.

Video comes from "Image to Video" in the AI Art Generator. An outside write-up describes it as animating a still rather than building a full scene, so expect a short moving picture, not a film. Premium lists both image and video generation, and the credit packs cover anything beyond the monthly free credits.

My take on this section: the media side is where FunFun AI earns its price, and also where the money goes fastest. If what you want is a romantic companion more than a picture studio, my AI girlfriend app rankings put companion-first apps on top.

What FunFun AI costs next to the alternatives

FunFun AI sells one subscription, Premium, plus credit packs. On iOS, Premium costs $19.99 monthly or $89.99 yearly, about $7.50 a month. On the website I paid $71.88 for a year in October 2025, $5.99 a month.

The web billing page could not be re-checked on 23 September 2026, so treat that price as what I saw then, not a promise now.

Next to the rivals, the yearly price is the draw. Candy AI's 12-Month Plan is €47.88, Nomi AI's Standard Plan Yearly is $99.99, and GirlfriendGPT's yearly Premium is $144.00. At $89.99 on iOS, FunFun AI sits at the cheaper end for an annual plan, and my web price was lower still.

Monthly is a different story. $19.99 matches OurDream AI's Standard Monthly and costs more than Nomi AI's $15.99, and FunFun AI has no voice calls to justify it. I think that monthly price is steep for what you get.

Credits sit on top of either plan: the iOS packs run from 100 credits for $9.99 to 3800 for $299.99, and per-action costs are not published.

Is FunFun AI Premium worth paying for?

For three weeks, it was worth it to me. The trouble was the other eleven months. A yearly plan is the smart buy on paper: $89.99 on iOS is $7.50 a month against $19.99 monthly, and the $71.88 I paid on the web in October 2025 was cheaper still. But yearly only pays off if you keep using it, and I did not.

My plan pick: buy the single month at $19.99 first. If you are still chatting when it ends, switching to yearly saves money, provided the renewal date goes straight into your calendar, because the Terms say plans renew automatically for the same duration. I would skip the big credit packs.

The 2500 and 3800 packs cost $199.99 and $299.99, and any tokens you haven't spent run out when the billing period closes after you cancel. The plan table lays out every option side by side.

FunFun AI option Billed Cost Works out per month
Premium (Monthly) - iOS in-app monthly $19.99 $19.99
Premium (Yearly) - iOS in-app yearly $89.99 $7.50

The closest alternative I would suggest

That official link takes you to FunFun AI's own site. Before you pay, here is my checklist, written by someone who learned the last item the expensive way:

  • Refunds close 24 hours after payment, and earlier if you use more than 20 tokens.
  • Choose monthly or yearly by your real habits, not your best intentions.
  • Spend your credits before you leave: remaining tokens expire after cancelling.
  • Add the renewal date to your calendar the same day you buy.

That last point comes straight from my own story. My yearly plan ran unused for eleven months, and only a subscription audit caught it. None of that is FunFun AI cheating anyone; the Terms say plainly that plans renew automatically. It is just very easy to stop opening an app and keep paying for it.

If you want a comparison with a cancel path and a statement name written down, Candy AI and its euro plans list a Settings / Unsubscribe route and bill as EverAI. Its refund window is also only 24 hours for non-EU/UK users, so neither app gives you long to change your mind.

The good and bad of FunFun AI

What went well

  • Adult content allowed by policy, and Premium removes image blur
  • Image generation plus image-to-video in Premium
  • Interface in 14 languages, on the web and iOS
  • Yearly Premium on iOS works out to $7.50 a month
  • A clear cancel path: Settings, then the Unsubscribe button

What fell short

  • The free allowance is not published
  • No live voice calls
  • Refunds only within 24 hours, and not after 20 tokens are used
  • Chats and images are permanently deleted after a subscription ends

How to cancel FunFun AI before a yearly plan runs on

The route itself is simple. Per the Terms, you can cancel whenever you like under "Settings" in your account by activating the "Unsubscribe" button, and you keep access until the billing period is over. Without that step, the plan renews automatically for the same duration.

On a yearly plan, that means a year at a time, and my September 2026 audit showed me how quietly eleven months can slip by.

Refunds are tight. You have 24 hours from payment to ask, a subscription refund is off the table once more than 20 tokens are used, and a credit pack cannot be refunded once any of its tokens are used. Only card purchases qualify; UPI payments in INR are not refundable.

By the time an audit catches a forgotten plan, every one of those windows is long shut. I think that refund rule is mean, and I would plan as if there were none.

Leftover credits are the next trap: whatever tokens are left die with the billing period once you've cancelled. Spend them first.

The last point matters most. The billing page says that when a subscription ends, all your data, including conversation history and images, is permanently deleted unless you renew. Save anything you love, like a wallpaper-worthy picture, before the end date.

Payment options include card, instant bank payment and crypto on the web, plus Apple in-app purchase on iOS. The statement descriptor is not on record, so how the charge will look on your card is still an open question. The page on how I check the apps explains why I quote the Terms line by line in a section like this.

What happens to your FunFun AI chats and pictures?

The clearest privacy fact is also the harshest. Once a subscription lapses, your chat history and images are wiped for good after the end date, unless you renew. In one way I like that: your chats do not sit on a server forever after you leave. In another, it means there is no pause button. Keep paying, or lose it.

On training, the privacy policy is vague. It lists using data to "improve, personalize, and expand our website", and it neither says chats train models nor rules it out. I would treat that as a maybe and keep real names and anything identifying out of your chats and your picture prompts.

Payment choices help a little with discretion: besides card, the web lists instant bank payment and crypto, and iOS uses Apple in-app purchase. The missing statement descriptor is the gap I would most like filled.

Is FunFun AI legit?

Yes, on the published facts. There is a named company, Chaindesk SAS in France, an iOS app with in-app purchases, numbered Terms and a written refund policy, strict as it is. My own $71.88 bought exactly what the Terms describe: a yearly plan that kept running until I caught it.

My feeling is that it is a real, focused product, very open about its content and much less open about its free tier and credit costs. That makes it legit but not transparent, and I would like it to be both. A named French company is a real plus in a field where many apps name no one at all.

If adult chat matters more to you than pictures, my ranking of NSFW AI chat apps sorts the rivals by exactly that.

Final word on FunFun AI

Final score

5.6/10

Uneven

FunFun has presets with real bite and pictures a tap away, but its annual plan renewed without me noticing, so set a reminder.

Used hands-on with a paid plan

  • The preset I picked roasted my taste in fantasy sequels with real confidence.
  • It recalled stated preferences in short tests; long-term depth is unproven.
  • The 7-step wizard reads like an acquisition form, thorough if slightly dry.
  • One-tap pictures are dangerously easy, video animates images, and there is no voice.
  • The annual plan quietly ran on for eleven months until my audit caught it at $71.88.
  • Training use is unclear, though data is deleted after a subscription lapses.
  • The service kept running without complaint, billing included.

Bars use a 0-10 scale. The overall score is a weighted average of these criteria, and every app uses identical weights. How we review the apps

My verdict: a good buy for a few playful weeks of chat and one-tap pictures, and a skip if you want voice calls or a published free allowance. The preset companions won me over; the character that roasted my fantasy sequels nearly got me to renew on purpose. The plan I would buy is one month at $19.99, then yearly at $89.99 on iOS only if you are still opening the app.

What bothers me most is how easily a yearly plan fades from view while the refund window is just 24 hours. My own $71.88 bought three good weeks and eleven idle months. Anime fans and anyone who needs voice should start elsewhere.

The closest alternative I would suggest

When another app fits better than FunFun AI

FunFun AI does pictures and personality well and leaves some needs open. If one of these is yours, I would look elsewhere first:

  • Voice calls: Candy AI lists voice calls and memory, and its 12-Month Plan works out to €3.99 a month.
  • A free plan with a known size: Nomi AI gives 50 messages a day and 2 images a day on its permanent free plan.
  • Group chat with image and video: OurDream AI's Standard Monthly at $19.99 includes image and video generation, and group chat is listed.
  • A free start that grows daily: GirlfriendGPT's Daily Login tops you up with 10 messages each day.

My pick for most people leaving FunFun AI is Candy AI, because it fills the voice gap and still sells realistic media. If memory and a lasting free plan matter more than pictures, Nomi AI is the calmer choice, and its free plan lets you try before any card comes out.

If a different character library is the whole point, my SpicyChat write-up is worth a look before you decide.

Whichever you choose, note the renewal date somewhere you'll see it from day one. Every app on this list renews unless you stop it, and a plan you forget costs the same as one you love.

Instead of FunFun AI

The next three apps I would open, and the reason.

If I shelved FunFun AI in my own collection, the label would read "delightful, but check the due date". The characters are fun, the pictures are easy and the chat has more cheek than most. The paperwork is where you protect yourself: a hidden free allowance, a 24-hour refund window, credits that expire and data that goes when the plan does.

Start with a month, save what you love and keep an eye on the renewal. The questions below cover what readers ask most about FunFun AI, from the free tier to what happens after you cancel.

What readers ask about FunFun AI

Is FunFun AI free?

There is a free tier, but its size is not published. Premium lists unlimited messages as a benefit, which means free messaging is capped, and outside sources describe the free tier as limited without numbers. Premium costs $19.99 a month or $89.99 a year on iOS.

Does FunFun AI renew automatically?

Yes. The Terms say your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period for the same duration. I paid $71.88 for a yearly web plan in October 2025, used it for three weeks, and it kept running for eleven more months until a subscription audit caught it in September 2026. Put the renewal date in your calendar.

Does FunFun AI have voice calls?

No. There is no live voice-call feature on the official pages, and the Terms only mention AI-generated voice messages. It is a text-first app with images and video. If calls matter to you, Candy AI or Nomi AI are better fits.

Can I get a refund from FunFun AI?

Only in the first 24 hours after you pay. Use more than 20 tokens and a subscription refund is denied, and credit packs are not refundable once any tokens are used. Only card purchases are refundable, and UPI payments in INR are not.

What happens to my chats if I cancel FunFun AI?

Your access continues until the end of the billing period. After the subscription ends, the billing page says all your data, including conversation history and images, is permanently deleted unless you renew before that date. Leftover credits also expire at the end of that period.

Is FunFun AI safe for my privacy?

The company is Chaindesk SAS in France. The privacy policy says data may be used to improve, personalize and expand the website, and it does not say clearly whether chats train AI models. No statement descriptor is on record. I would leave real names and addresses out of every chat.

Does FunFun AI allow adult content?

Yes. Adult content is allowed by policy, and Premium removes image blur. The age gate is a self-declaration: users are asked to affirm they are over 18, with no ID step described.
