Token packs sit on top: 2M for $6.00, 5M for $13.00 and 12M for $28.00. Essential gives you 3M tokens for $5.99, so a subscription beats the smallest pack. My rule: buy packs only if you run dry late in the month.

Pro at $14.99 makes sense once you run out often, or if pictures are a big part of the fun, since SceneSnap costs half as many tokens there.

Ultimate at $49.99 is for heavy use only. Unlimited standard messages and free pictures are nice, but that's a lot per month for a text app with no voice.

Candy AI, for example, lists unlimited text messages on its 1-Month Plan at €13.99, plus voice calls, and its refund window is 24 hours after payment for non-EU/UK users. My honest read: CraveU wins for budget roleplay and loses once you want voice or a gentler exit. Neither choice is wrong. It comes down to whether you'd rather save money or stop counting tokens. The free start on CraveU costs nothing, so give it a few evenings before you pay anyone.

The refund rules are the part I don't. The policy, updated 2024-08-05, says that after your login details have been used, fees can't be refunded, and partial months get no refunds or credits. The FAQ softens it only a little: refunds are available only under exceptional circumstances. In practice, treat the money as gone the moment you pay.

That's why I push monthly billing so hard on this one. A $5.99 mistake is easy to shrug off. A $358.88 yearly Ultimate mistake is not.

Payment methods on record are a credit card and in-app purchase, the FAQ mentions PayPal, and the refund policy mentions purchases through GankNow. The yearly Essential plan is credit card only. Whichever route you pay through, cancel there, because that's where the subscription lives.

My order of moves:

Start on the free plan. Move to Essential monthly only when you're sure. On subscription day, write the renewal date on your calendar. And if you delete your account later, cancel the subscription first, since deletion and billing are separate steps.

On retention, CraveU holds on to personal information for as long as its policy's purposes reasonably call for, or as long as the law requires. No fixed period is given. The better news is deletion: the FAQ says deleting your account through Settings, Account, Manage Account & Data is irreversible and permanently removes the associated data.

My advice is short. Keep your real name, workplace and anything identifying out of your chats. Use an email that isn't tied to the rest of your life. And if you stop using the site, delete the account instead of just drifting away.
