We are not aware of an official status page for PolyBuzz.

Checked twice a day, every 12 hours. About this check

Is PolyBuzz down right now, or is the problem on your end?

The status box above is the fastest answer this page can give you. It shows one of four states, the time of the last reading in UTC, the response time, uptime over 7 days and 30 days, and a 30-day history bar. Read the timestamp before anything else, because the colour of the chip means little on its own.

The check runs twice a day, so a reading is only as current as the moment it was taken, and the box marks it Out of date after 14 hours.

What each state means for you:

  • Up: the official PolyBuzz website answered normally. If PolyBuzz is not working for you anyway, your connection, browser or app version is the likelier cause.
  • Slow: the site answered, but late. Chats may still go through, with a wait.
  • Down: the site returned a server error, timed out or refused the connection. That points to PolyBuzz servers down rather than a fault on your phone.
  • Unknown: the site blocked or limited the automated request. That is a bot wall, not an outage, and it is never counted as down.

My rule of thumb: trust the history bar more than any single reading. One red cell in 30 days is a hiccup. A whole row of them is a pattern, and a pattern is worth knowing about before you commit to a yearly plan. Uptime over 30 days tells you more than any one angry evening does.

It also helps to separate the website from the apps. The box reads the PolyBuzz website, but PolyBuzz also runs on iOS and Android, and an app can fail for reasons a website reading cannot see, like an outdated version. So if the box says Up and the app still refuses to open, the quick fixes further down are written for you.

What the box cannot tell you is why. No official PolyBuzz server status page is on record, so there is no company feed to quote here, and pointing you to a page that may not exist would help nobody, so I'm saying it plainly. That is a gap I would like PolyBuzz to close. A company with apps on two stores and a web checkout can afford one honest status page.

If PolyBuzz is working and you are still deciding whether it deserves your evenings at all, my full PolyBuzz review, with every plan and price walks through the free tier, the Standard, Premium and Ultimate plans and what each one adds.

Why a PolyBuzz outage costs paying members more

For free users, a PolyBuzz outage costs time, not money. The FAQ pitches chat as "free, unlimited, and private" and publishes no daily message cap, so waiting it out loses you nothing but an evening. If that is you, relax and come back later.

Paying members are in a different spot, and the billing rules are not kind to them. Under the Terms, a premium plan renews by itself unless you cancel by the final day of the subscription period. On refunds, a completed purchase gives you no right to your money back without due reason, and whatever you pay under PolyBuzz's own rates and policies stays paid.

Nothing on record promises credit for downtime. I don't love that, but I would rather you know it before the servers wobble than after, so you can plan around it.

The plan you pick changes how much a bad day stings. The Poly Standard Weekly Plan is $4.99 a week, which works out to $21.62 a month. Poly Standard Monthly is $9.90, and the yearly web plan is $99 at $8.25 a month.

So, month for month, the weekly plan runs over double the price of the monthly one, and a lost day hurts it most. My advice: skip the weekly plan unless you only want a short try, and never buy it right after an outage in the hope things have settled.

The good news is how you cancel. On iOS, the FAQ sends you to the Settings app, then Apple ID, then Subscriptions, where you pick the PolyBuzz subscription and cancel. On Android, you go through the Google Play Store app and its Subscriptions menu.

Both routes run through the store, not the PolyBuzz servers, so you can cancel even while PolyBuzz is down. I like that a lot. It means an outage can never trap you into another billing period.

The yearly plans bought through web checkout are a different story: no cancel path for them is on record, so keep your receipt and cancel with days to spare before it renews. The company behind the app is Singularity Mutual Entertainment Culture Media Limited, and that is the name to look for on any receipt.

If outages keep showing up in the history bar, that alone is a fair reason to look around. My list of apps like PolyBuzz, with their free plans compared is where I would start.

How this check works

Twice a day, every 12 hours, our own server sends one automated request to the official PolyBuzz website. It notes whether the site answered, the HTTP code and the response time. Slower than 3 seconds is Slow. No answer within 10 seconds, a server error or a failed connection is Down.

A blocked or rate-limited request (HTTP 401, 403 or 429) is Unknown. Results are kept for 30 days for the 7-day and 30-day uptime figures and the history bar.

Two details matter to me here. No request leaves your browser, because the page reads stored results. And a bot wall is never scored as an outage.

One honest limit: two checks a day can miss a short outage in between. PolyBuzz has no official status page on record, so if it fails for you right now, look at its official social channels and try the quick fixes below. The same box sits on every page in my hub of app status checks.

Why won't PolyBuzz load for you? Quick fixes that help

If the box says Up and you are still stuck, the cause is most likely local. Here is the order I would go in, quickest first:

  • Switch networks: from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or the other way round. A weak connection looks exactly like a PolyBuzz error.
  • Close the app fully and reopen it, or close and reopen your browser tab on the web.
  • Update the app from the App Store or Google Play. An old version is a common reason an app stops cooperating after a change on the server side.
  • Try the other door: if the app fails, open PolyBuzz on the web, and if the web fails, try the app.
  • Restart your phone or computer if none of the above helped.

My take: most "why is PolyBuzz not working right now" moments end at step one or two. If the box says Down, skip the list entirely, because nothing on your side will fix a server problem. Save your energy for something else, and if you have a chat you care about, pick it back up later rather than starting it again elsewhere.

One more honest limit. The box reads the website, not your account. If PolyBuzz loads but one chat will not continue, or a character behaves strangely, that is not an outage at all, and the next section covers what might be going on.

The same goes for slow replies at busy hours: the site can be up and still answer slowly, so give it a minute before you assume the worst.

Candy AI A web backup with voice calls and a 12-month deal · 8.2/10, starts at €3.99/mo Try it free

Did PolyBuzz get shut down, or is it just a bad day?

Nothing in the records points to a shutdown. The membership page listed yearly web prices on 23 September 2026, including the Premium Year at $199 and the Ultimate Year at $299, and the apps are listed for iOS and Android. A company that is still selling annual plans is not acting like one that is winding down.

So if you are asking whether PolyBuzz is shutting down, the records give no sign of it, and a single bad day is far more likely than a PolyBuzz shut down.

Some problems also get mistaken for outages. Other reviewers note long scenes losing details, like a story that started at a train station and wandered into a hotel with no bridge between them. That can feel like the app is broken when it is really a memory limit.

Memory reportedly scales by tier, and Ultimate is described as adding Permanent Memory. Voice is similar: one reviewer rated the voices 4.2/5 as natural, while another found them artificial and too slow. If replies feel off rather than absent, the servers are probably not the issue, and a stronger memory model is the actual fix. Keep that in mind before a frustrated upgrade to a pricier tier.

What to use while PolyBuzz is down

If you just want to keep chatting tonight, a free option is the sensible stopgap. My pick is Nomi AI: the free plan never expires and allows 50 daily messages of up to 400 characters each, and it runs on web, iOS and Android. GirlfriendGPT starts you with 20 bonus messages that never expire, and Daily Login adds 10 each day.

OurDream AI and Candy AI are thinner for free use, so I would only switch to them if you were ready to pay anyway.

I would not move your whole story over, though. A backup is for one evening, not a new home for your characters. If PolyBuzz is back tomorrow, you lose nothing by returning to the characters you already built.

How I pick these stand-ins and source the numbers is laid out in my review method.

Candy AI as a backup: worth it only if you would pay

Candy AI is the backup I would suggest to a PolyBuzz member who is tired of outages, not to someone who wants a free stopgap for one evening. The difference is the free tier. Candy AI's free start stops at 5 messages overall and never refills, so it will not carry you through a long night while PolyBuzz is down. As a paid switch, though, it has real strengths.

EverAI Limited, based in Malta, runs it, and it works in the browser. The 1-Month Plan is €13.99 and includes unlimited text messages, your own custom companions, 18+ image and video generation plus 100 tokens monthly. On the 12-Month Plan you pay €47.88 for the year, or €3.99 monthly, and that is the price that catches my eye.

It is cheaper per month than the PolyBuzz yearly Standard plan, although it is billed in euros and upfront.

Other reviewers find the images very lifelike and say a character's looks stay consistent across pictures, and that voice and phone-call audio are expressive. The same reports describe free-plan replies as much slower than paid ones, and memory holding for roughly 10-20 messages before details slip. So I would not pick Candy AI for long stories. I would pick it for looks and voice.

The billing side is clear, and I appreciate that. Charges show as EverAI on a statement, plans renew automatically, and you cancel under Settings / Unsubscribe in your account. The refund window for non-EU/UK users is 24 hours after payment, which is short. My advice: decide on day one, not day three.

If you also use Character AI as a second backup, it is worth seeing whether Character AI is down too before you switch, since busy evenings can hit several apps at once. The key facts for Candy AI sit right below, so you can compare them with PolyBuzz at a glance.

  • Starting free: Free tier
  • Lowest price: €3.99 monthly (12-Month Plan)
  • Allowed: mature chat, paid plans
  • Runs on: web

Other apps to keep open while PolyBuzz is down

The next three apps I would open, and the reason.

Before you close this tab

If you take one thing from this page, make it this: read the timestamp in the status box before you decide anything. A fresh Up means the fix is on your side, and the quick steps above are usually enough. A fresh Down means waiting is the only fix, and no reinstall will change that.

Is PolyBuzz down today in a way that affects your money? Only if you pay. Free chat costs you nothing to wait out.

If you are a member and outages keep turning up in the history bar, remember that you cancel with Apple's App Store or Google Play, never inside PolyBuzz itself, so you are never locked in by a server problem. Just do it before the last day of your period, because refunds are not given without due reason.

And if you want a second option ready for the next bad evening, set it up on a calm day, not in the middle of an outage. That is the least stressful way to have a backup.

PolyBuzz outage questions, answered

Why is PolyBuzz not working today?

Look at the status box at the top of this page first. If it shows Down, the PolyBuzz servers returned an error, timed out or refused the connection, and waiting is the only fix. If it shows Up, the cause is more likely your connection, your browser or an outdated app version, so switch networks, reopen the app and update it from the App Store or Google Play.

Did PolyBuzz get shut down?

Nothing in the records says so. The membership page listed yearly web prices on 23 September 2026, including $199 for Premium and $299 for Ultimate, and the apps are listed for iOS and Android. A bad day or a local problem is far more likely than a shutdown. The status box shows the latest reading.

Is there an official PolyBuzz server status page?

No official PolyBuzz status page is on record. The box on this page is based on an automated request to the official PolyBuzz website, with the results kept for 30 days. A blocked request is shown as Unknown and never counted as down, so the history bar is a fair guide to how often the site has had trouble.

Can I get a refund if PolyBuzz is down?

Nothing on record promises credit for downtime. Per the Terms, completed purchases carry no refund right without due reason, and money paid under the company's rates and policies is kept. A plan renews by itself unless you cancel by the last day of the subscription period.

How do I cancel PolyBuzz if the app won't load?

Cancel through your app store, which works even while PolyBuzz is down. On iOS, open the Settings app, go to Apple ID, then Subscriptions, select the PolyBuzz subscription and cancel. On Android, use the Google Play Store app and its Subscriptions menu. No cancel path for the yearly plans bought on the web is on record.

Did PolyBuzz crash, or is my chat just forgetting things?

If PolyBuzz loads but a long scene loses track of details, that is a memory limit rather than a crash. Other reviews mention a train-station story that slid into a hotel without any bridge. Memory reportedly scales by tier, and the Ultimate plan is described as adding Permanent Memory.
