How to cancel your PolyBuzz subscription without surprises
How do I cancel my PolyBuzz subscription?
You cancel it in the store that bills you, not inside the chat. PolyBuzz's own FAQ, under "How to cancel my subscription", gives two routes, one for iPhone and one for Android. Both start outside the PolyBuzz app, which is the part that trips people up. Here are the steps as the FAQ lays them out:
- On an iPhone: go to Settings > your Apple ID > Subscriptions, pick the PolyBuzz plan, then tap Cancel Subscription
- On Android: inside the Google Play Store app, go to Menu > Subscriptions, pick the PolyBuzz plan, then tap Cancel Subscription
- On the web: no cancel steps for web checkout are on file, so see the web section further down before you do anything else
- Coin packs: these are one-off purchases, not a plan, so there is nothing to cancel
I like that the store routes are standard. If you have cancelled any phone subscription before, you know the screens. What I don't like is that the FAQ is silent on the web yearly plans, which are the most expensive ones.
The timing rule is simple. Under the terms, a premium plan keeps renewing by itself until you cancel, and the cancel has to land by the final day of the subscription period. So the safe move is to cancel as soon as your mind is made up, not at the last minute.
You keep your benefits through the rest of the cycle you paid for anyway, so cancelling early costs you nothing.
If you are cancelling because PolyBuzz's content level is not what you hoped, other reviewers describe it as staying suggestive rather than explicit. Before you move somewhere else, check where the new app draws its line. If Character AI is on your list, my Character AI NSFW explainer answers that one plainly.
Just below, the table titled "The apps side by side" lines PolyBuzz up against five other apps, handy if you are deciding where to go next.
| App | Free option | Lowest monthly cost | Allowed |
|---|---|---|---|
| PolyBuzz | Yes | $8.25 | Unconfirmed |
| Candy AI | Yes | €3.99 | Mature chat, paid plans |
| OurDream AI | Yes | $9.99 | Mature chat permitted |
| Nomi AI | Yes | $8.33 | Mature chat permitted |
| GirlfriendGPT | Yes | $12.00 | Mature chat, paid plans |
| SpicyChat | Yes | $5.00 | Mature chat permitted |
What happens after you cancel PolyBuzz?
Nothing dramatic, and that is good news. According to the FAQ, your benefits remain active through the current billing cycle. You keep the paid features until the period you already paid for runs out, and then the plan simply does not renew.
After that, you drop to the free plan. On file, it covers text chat on the Standard model with ads, a pair of free voice plays and a single starter image generation. Ordinary text messages are not coin-metered, so you can keep chatting with your characters without paying.
What you lose are the paid extras, such as ad-free chat, unlimited voice listening and the stronger memory models on Premium and Ultimate.
A few things I'd do right after cancelling:
- Take a screenshot of the store's cancel confirmation and keep it somewhere safe
- Note the date your current cycle ends, so the last paid day does not surprise you
- Check the store's subscriptions list again a day later to confirm the status changed
- Spend any coins you care about, since nothing on file says how unused coins are handled
Can you get a refund from PolyBuzz?
Probably not, and I'd rather you know that before you tap Cancel than after. The terms say a finished purchase gives you no right to your money back unless there is due reason. They also say a payment made under PolyBuzz's rates and policies stays unrefunded, even when you cancel the subscription later.
That is a strict rule, and I don't love it. It hurts least on the Poly Standard Weekly Plan at $4.99 and most on a yearly plan, where Poly Ultimate Year costs $299 up front. The records do not describe a refund window, a trial period or an exception list, so I won't suggest one exists.
If you believe a charge was a genuine mistake, the "without due reason" wording at least leaves room to ask, but I would not count on the answer being yes.
My advice follows from that. If you are unsure about PolyBuzz, stay on a short billing period until you are sure, and cancel the moment it stops being worth it. My full PolyBuzz review goes through which plan I think is the fair buy and who can skip paying entirely.

Is cancelling PolyBuzz harder than cancelling other apps?
For phone subscribers, not really. The store route is the same one you use for any app, and PolyBuzz's FAQ spells it out. Where PolyBuzz falls behind is the web: several apps in the feature table publish a cancel path inside your account, and PolyBuzz does not, at least nothing on file shows one.
Here is how the others describe leaving, so you can compare:
- Nomi AI: web users follow Profile icon > Subscription tab > Manage Subscription > Cancel Subscription and confirm the prompt; Android users can take that same in-app route or go through Google Play
- Candy AI: its terms point you to Settings / Unsubscribe within your account, and cancelling is allowed at any time
- OurDream AI: its help centre points to the profile page, where you click "Cancel subscription" and confirm; you keep access through the period you paid for
- SpicyChat: Profile > Manage Subscription, which redirects to the payment platform, with benefits lasting to the end of the paid period
- GirlfriendGPT: the manage subscription page of your account for direct billing, or the CCBill website for plans billed through CCBill
Refund rules vary more than cancel paths. OurDream AI's refund policy describes a 14-day "Quality Guarantee" where you contact support within 14 days of purchase and each case is judged on its own. Candy AI's terms accept refund requests within one day of payment from users outside the EU and UK.
Next to those, PolyBuzz's no-refund stance is on the strict end, alongside Nomi AI, whose terms say payments are nonrefundable. SpicyChat sits in between: its fees are non-refundable once the account has been used, with refunds only in exceptional circumstances. GirlfriendGPT refuses refunds on paid subscriptions, apart from certain limited cases.
My take: a clear cancel button inside the account is a small thing that says a lot about how an app treats paying users. It is one of the first things I'd look for before handing over a card. If PolyBuzz's rules put you off, my list of apps like PolyBuzz ranks the alternatives on what their official pages show. The box below sums up OurDream AI, one of the apps with an in-account cancel button.

Should you cancel, or just move to a cheaper PolyBuzz plan?
Sometimes cancelling is the right call, and sometimes the real problem is the billing period. PolyBuzz sells three tiers, Standard, Premium and Ultimate, and the price per month changes a lot depending on how often you pay.
Start by checking the weekly plan. Poly Standard Weekly Plan costs $4.99 a week, which works out to about $21.62 a month. Poly Standard Monthly is $9.90, so the same tier costs less than half as much when paid monthly.
If you signed up weekly on impulse, switching to monthly may be all the saving you need, and no cancel is required.
The yearly web plans are cheaper again per month: Poly Standard Year is $99, or $8.25 a month, Poly Premium Year is $199, or $16.58 a month, and Poly Ultimate Year is $299, or $24.92 a month. With the strict refund rule, though, I'd only pay for a year once you are certain. A year you stop using is money you won't see again.
Then there is the free plan. Text chat on the Standard model is not metered by coins, so if what you mostly do is type, the free plan may cover you. You give up ad-free chat and the stronger memory models, and other reviewers report plenty of pop-up ads on the free version.
Whether that is tolerable is a personal call; for me, getting rid of ads is what makes paying worth it. Try a week on the free plan after your cancel takes effect, and only pay again if you really miss what you gave up.
If you are thinking of resubscribing later, look for a deal before you pay full price again. My page of current app deals tracks the offers that are live, though no PolyBuzz code is on file at the moment. The membership page also shows first-week discounts at times, but the records note that its prices render inconsistently, so check the final amount at checkout.
A discounted first week that renews at the full weekly price is exactly the kind of thing worth reading twice before you confirm.
The box below leads to PolyBuzz itself, in case you decide to stay on a different plan rather than leave.
What if you paid for PolyBuzz on the web?
This is the gap I'd flag loudest on this page. PolyBuzz sells its yearly plans through a web checkout: Poly Standard Year, Poly Premium Year and Poly Ultimate Year. The FAQ's cancel steps cover only the Apple and Google stores. No cancel path for a web subscription is on file.
So what do you do? I would contact PolyBuzz directly through its official site or app, ask in writing to stop the renewal, and keep a copy of the request and any reply. I'd do that well before the renewal date, since the terms want the cancel in by the period's closing day.
It also helps to check your account on the website for any subscription or membership details, but I can't promise a cancel option is there, because the records don't describe one.
It also helps to know the names involved. The operator named in the terms and privacy policy is Hong Kong-based Singularity Mutual Entertainment Culture Media Limited. The Apple App Store lists the seller as CLOUD WHALE INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGY LLC.
The card statement name itself is not on file, so I can't tell you which name the charge carries; these two are simply the names the official pages use.
Does cancelling delete your PolyBuzz account or characters?
No. Cancelling a plan and deleting an account are two separate things. Cancelling only stops the renewal; your account stays open on the free plan. Deleting is a different step, under Settings > Delete Account, and the privacy policy warns that backup copies can linger until the backup store gets its next refresh.
Character creation on PolyBuzz is free, so nothing about your own characters depends on a paid plan being active. If you want to keep chatting with them after cancelling, you can. Leaving for good? Cancel, then delete, in that order, so there is no renewal hanging off an account you no longer see.
My view: cancel as soon as you decide, keep proof, and give yourself a few days on the free plan before deciding whether to delete. For more plain step-by-step guides like this one, my help pages for companion apps cover cancelling, deleting and billing names across the apps on file.
Does deleting the PolyBuzz app stop the payments?
No, and this is the mistake I'd most like to save you from. Removing the app from your phone does not touch the subscription. The plan lives with Apple, Google or the web checkout, and the terms say it renews by itself unless cancelled no later than the final day of the period. Nothing on file says uninstalling counts as cancelling.
So the order matters: cancel first through the store, then uninstall if you want to. If you have already deleted the app, the store route still works, because the subscriptions list sits in your phone's settings or in the Google Play Store app, not inside PolyBuzz. That is the one upside of store billing: you can always reach it.
How can you be sure the PolyBuzz charges have stopped?
Check twice, in two places. First, the store's subscriptions list should show the PolyBuzz plan as cancelled, with the end date of your current cycle. Second, after that date passes, your bank or card statement should show no new charge from PolyBuzz or its companies.
If a charge still appears after a confirmed cancel, gather your proof: the cancel screenshot, the date and the amount. Then contact the store you paid through or PolyBuzz, depending on where the plan was bought. With the strict refund rule, your best argument is clear evidence that the plan was cancelled before the renewal date.
Coins are the other thing to watch. Packs run from 1,000 coins at €2.59 to 20,000 coins at €20.99, and they are separate purchases from the plan. Cancelling does not stop you buying more coins, and it does not refund any coins you already bought. If you are trying to stop spending entirely, it is worth keeping that in mind.
Everything on this page comes from PolyBuzz's official FAQ, terms and store listings, plus my opinion on what they mean for you. It is a desk guide, not a hands-on account. The method behind every app page here is laid out in how I check the apps. The FAQ below picks up the smaller questions about cancelling.
Common questions
How do I cancel PolyBuzz on my iPhone?
Go to Settings > your Apple ID > Subscriptions, pick the PolyBuzz plan and tap Cancel Subscription. That is the route PolyBuzz's own FAQ gives. Paid features last until the cycle you already paid for ends, and the plan will not renew after that.
How do I cancel PolyBuzz on Android?
In the Google Play Store app, head to Menu > Subscriptions, choose PolyBuzz and tap Cancel Subscription. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it, so use this route even if the app is already gone from your phone.
How do I cancel a PolyBuzz plan bought on the web?
No web cancel path is on file. The FAQ only covers the Apple and Google stores, while the yearly plans are sold through a web checkout. Contact PolyBuzz directly, ask in writing to stop the renewal, and keep a copy of your request, sent well ahead of the renewal deadline.
Will I get a refund if I cancel PolyBuzz?
Most likely not. Under the terms, a finished purchase earns no refund without due reason, and cancelling afterwards does not bring a payment back. That is why I'd start on a short billing period until you are sure.
Can I still chat on PolyBuzz after cancelling?
Yes. You keep paid features until the current cycle ends, then drop to the free plan: ad-supported text chat on the Standard model, two voice plays and one image to begin with. Ordinary text messages are not coin-metered.
Does cancelling PolyBuzz delete my account?
No. Cancelling only stops the renewal. Deleting the account is a separate step under Settings > Delete Account, and the privacy policy says backup copies may stay around until that system's next update. Cancel first, then delete if you are leaving for good.
