How much does Candy AI cost? Plans and tokens explained
Does Candy AI cost money, or can you start free?
Yes, Candy AI costs money for anything past a first look. The free account is real, but it is tiny. Candy AI's own terms say a free user can send a maximum of 5 messages, and a free-tier check on 2026-09-22 ran out after 3-5 messages and 3-5 images, at which point the account locked. There is no daily reset, so once that allowance is spent, it is spent.
My reading of the free start:
- About 5 messages in total, not per day
- A handful of images, 3-5 in the dated check
- No video at all on a free account
- Adult content only really opens up on a paid plan, since the policy on file is paid-only
My take: this is a preview, not a free tier you can live on. I don't mind that as long as you know it going in, and I respect that the terms state the 5-message cap in plain words instead of hiding behind a vague "try it free" banner. Spend those messages judging the writing style and the character builder, which lets you pick ethnicity, appearance, personality, voice and hobbies.
If that builder feels like it was made with you in mind, the paid plans deserve a look. If it doesn't, you walk away having paid nothing.
A word for anyone who came for spicier chat: the free messages run out long before a scene gets going, and Candy AI's adult image and video generation sits on the paid plans only. If you are weighing it against a big mainstream app with a stricter line, my note on whether Character AI will allow NSFW chat covers that question for that app.
The table right after this section lines Candy AI up against every other app on this page. Read the free column first. It is the quickest way to see how thin a 5-message start looks beside a daily allowance.

Which Candy AI plan is the smart buy?
All three plans carry the same benefits: unlimited text messages, custom companions you build yourself, adult image and video generation, and 100 tokens a month. The only things that change are how long you commit and how much leaves your account upfront. In other words, a longer plan does not unlock anything extra; it just makes each month cheaper.
- 1-Month Plan: €13.99, billed every month
- 3-Month Plan: €26.97 paid at once, so €8.99 per month
- 12-Month Plan: €47.88 paid at once, so €3.99 per month
Quick math: twelve months on the 1-Month Plan add up to €167.88. The 12-Month Plan covers the same year for €47.88, a saving of €120.00. Four rounds of the 3-Month Plan come to €107.88, so the middle option is the odd one out.
Candy AI advertises the yearly price as 70% off, and for once the percentage holds up against the monthly rate.
Here is what bothers me, though. A year upfront on a web app you have sent 5 messages on is a lot of trust. So my advice is to buy a single month first if you are unsure, even though it is the worst price per month. €13.99 buys a proper look at memory, voice and images with real tokens. If you still want Candy AI after that, move to the yearly plan when the month ends.
What about the weekly and bi-weekly prices?
The fine print on the pricing page also shows a weekly option at €5.60 and a bi-weekly one at €9.79. Their exact terms are not clear on file, so I would not build a budget on them. Four weekly payments at €5.60 come to €22.40, more than a whole 1-Month Plan, and two bi-weekly payments come to €19.58.
To me they only make sense as a very short look, never as the way you pay month after month.
The plan prices are listed in euros, and the fine print adds that local taxes may apply on top, so your card may show a slightly higher figure. For the rest of the picture, memory, images and privacy included, my full Candy AI review pulls it together in one place.

What do Candy AI tokens buy, and when do you need more?
Here is the cost that the headline price leaves out. Text messages on a paid plan do not use tokens, since unlimited text is listed as its own benefit. Anything visual or spoken does. You get 100 tokens a month on any plan, and the per-action rates reported for Candy AI look like this:
- Images: 2 tokens on the standard engine, 4 on the upgraded one
- Voice: 3 tokens a minute
- Video: 12 tokens for a short clip of about 5 seconds, up to about 80 for a clip near 55 seconds
- A new custom character: 10 tokens
Quick math on the monthly 100: that is 50 standard images, or 25 upgraded ones, or 33 minutes of voice with 1 token left over, or 8 short video clips. Pick one lane. Mix them and the balance drains faster than you expect.
Top-up packs start at 100 tokens for $9.99 and climb through 350 for $34.99, 550 for $49.99 and 1,150 for $99.99, all the way to 3,750 for $299.99. Those pack prices come from outside sources, because Candy AI's own top-up page sits behind a login. Other reviewers report that, with top-ups added in, heavy users spend roughly $25-60 a month.
I find that easy to believe. If images and video are the reason you want Candy AI, budget for at least one pack on top of the plan.
Other reviewers also report that about 1 in 8 images comes back with visible errors, with no free retry. If that rate holds, keep a few spare tokens for redos rather than planning to the last credit.
My take: if you mostly want to talk, tokens barely matter and the yearly plan is a bargain. If you want pictures every night, the plan just gets you in, and the packs become the real bill. In that case, look over the apps I'd consider instead of Candy AI before you buy a big pack.
Nomi AI, in the box below, is a useful contrast on the free side. It has a permanent free plan with 50 messages a day, which is a very different deal from 5 messages in total.

Does Candy AI speak, and does Candy AI make videos?
Yes to both, and both are paid from your token balance rather than covered by the plan itself. Candy AI's homepage mentions voice conversations and voice notes, and the reported voice rate is 3 tokens a minute. Video generation is listed as a paid-plan benefit, with a clip of about 5 seconds reported at 12 tokens and a clip near 55 seconds at about 80.
Put those rates next to the 100 monthly tokens and the picture gets sharp. A 20-minute call uses 60 tokens. One long video clip eats most of a month. If voice is your thing, the monthly allowance covers 33 minutes, and a 350-token pack at $34.99 adds another 116 minutes with 2 tokens to spare.
Voice quality also gets praise elsewhere, described as expressive and top-tier. I like that the paid extras seem to be good ones. What I don't like is that the official pricing page never itemises these per-action costs, so the rates come from outside guides and could shift. Before a long call, look at your balance, not at a number on this page.
Here is how I would match the spend to what you want. If you want a voice companion, the plan plus its tokens covers a couple of short calls, not a nightly hour. If you want video, the plan only opens the door; the clips are paid for with packs.
If you only want text, skip all of this, because messages on a paid plan do not touch the token balance.
The free account gets no video at all, and the voice rate only starts to matter once you pay. So the cheapest honest way to judge voice and video is one month at €13.99, not the full year. Spend part of the 100 tokens on each and you will know which one you care about.
Before you spend on packs, see whether a current Candy AI free trial code or deal applies to you. The 70% yearly offer on file was verified on 2026-09-23 with no end date listed, and offers like that can change without warning.
How does Candy AI work, and is there an app to install?
Candy AI runs in the browser. Its homepage has no App Store or Google Play badge. Instead it explains how to add it to your home screen as a web app: the Share button on iOS, the three-dot menu on Android, then "Add to Home Screen".
A "Candy AI" listing that surfaced on Google Play returned an error and shows no link to EverAI Limited, so I would not install anything that claims to be the official app.
For your money, the browser setup has one clear upside. Your subscription lives in your Candy AI account, not in your phone's store settings, and the terms name the cancel path plainly: Settings / Unsubscribe. I like a cancel route that is written down in the terms rather than buried in a help page.
The site comes in English and in a French version, with more languages described as on the way.
What will your statement show, and can you get money back?
Charges show on your statement as EverAI, not as Candy AI. For me that is a quiet plus if discretion matters to you, since the name says nothing about what you bought. Candy AI takes card and Pay by Bank, with other methods in some countries.
Refunds are where I get less friendly. The rules on file:
- Outside the EU and UK, you have 24 hours after paying to ask for a refund
- A subscription refund is refused if you have used more than 20 tokens
- Only subscriptions bought by card can be refunded
- In the EU and UK, you can withdraw within 14 days, minus a share for what you already used
Quick math on that token rule: 20 tokens is 10 standard images, so the 11th picture closes the refund door outside the EU and UK. My take is simple. Decide within the first day, and don't burn tokens while you are still unsure.
Plans renew automatically at the price shown at checkout, so cancel before the period ends if you are done. If a charge ever confuses you, my help pages on billing and account questions are a good next stop.
Does Candy AI work for your budget?
It depends on one thing: how much you want beyond text. Here is how I would budget the three kinds of use, using only the prices on file.
If you want chat and nothing else, the 12-Month Plan at €47.88 is the cheapest paid way in, at €3.99 a month. Unlimited text is included and tokens hardly come into it. This is the buyer Candy AI treats best, and I would happily send a friend down this route.
If you want some images and the odd voice note, the included 100 tokens will do for a light month. Stay on the standard engine at 2 tokens an image and you get 50 of them. Add one 100-token pack at $9.99 in a busy month and the month's balance doubles to 200 tokens, enough for 100 standard images. That feels like a fair deal to me.
If you want video every week or long voice calls, forget the headline price. That is the group the $25-60 figure from earlier describes, and the bigger packs at $99.99 and up are where the real spending happens. I would only go there once you are sure the app is right for you.
What else do you pay with besides money?
Your data. Candy AI's privacy notice says your exchanges with AI characters may be aggregated, anonymised or de-identified and used to train its AI models. Account data is kept for three years after your last activity, or until you ask for deletion, and billing records are kept for ten years. I don't love either of those.
If you care about privacy, treat every chat as something the company keeps, and ask for deletion when you leave.
Candy AI is run by EverAI Limited, registered in Malta, and launched in 2023. That is not a long track record, which is one more reason I would rather see you start with a month than a year.
Every fact on this page comes from official pages, dated free-tier checks and outside sources marked as such. If you want to know how those facts are gathered and dated, see how I check the apps before you trust any number here.
Common questions
How much does Candy AI cost per month?
Candy AI costs €13.99 on the 1-Month Plan. The 3-Month Plan is €26.97 upfront, or €8.99 a month, and the 12-Month Plan is €47.88 upfront, or €3.99 a month. All three include unlimited text messages, custom companions, image and video generation and 100 tokens a month.
The pricing page also shows weekly and bi-weekly options at €5.60 and €9.79 in its fine print. If you are new to it, I would pay for one month first and move to the year only once you know you like it.
Does Candy AI have an app?
Not a native one. The homepage has no App Store or Google Play badge and instead shows how to add Candy AI to your home screen as a web app, through the Share button on iOS or the three-dot menu on Android. A Google Play listing using the Candy AI name returned an error and shows no link to EverAI Limited, so I would not trust it. Use the website or the home-screen version.
How many free messages does Candy AI give?
Very few. The terms say a free user can send a maximum of 5 messages, and the account locked in a free-tier check on 2026-09-22 once 3-5 messages and 3-5 images had been used, with no video. There is no daily reset.
I would use those messages to judge the writing style and the character builder, not to decide on a year.
What do Candy AI tokens cost?
Every plan includes 100 tokens a month. Reported rates are 2 or 4 tokens per image depending on the engine, 3 tokens per voice minute, 12 tokens for a short video clip and 10 tokens to create a custom character. Top-up packs reported by outside sources start at 100 tokens for $9.99 and go up to 3,750 tokens for $299.99. Text messages on a paid plan do not use tokens.
Can I get a refund from Candy AI?
Outside the EU and UK, you have 24 hours after paying to ask, and a subscription refund is refused once more than 20 tokens are used. Only card payments can be refunded. In the EU and UK you can withdraw within 14 days, minus a share for what you already used. Content removed for breaking the rules is never refunded. My advice: decide on the first day and keep your token use low until you do.
What shows on my bank statement for Candy AI?
Charges appear as EverAI, the name of the company behind Candy AI, with local taxes possibly added on top. The app name itself does not appear in that descriptor, which I count as a plus if you like your statements discreet. Payment is by card or Pay by Bank, with other methods in some countries.
