Two companion apps, two very different first days

Secrets AI and Candy AI chase the same person: someone who wants one companion, with memory, pictures and a voice. Both are web apps, both sell images and video on paid plans, and both charge in a currency of their own on top of the subscription. Secrets AI calls it Moments. Candy AI calls it tokens. The split comes on day one and on your card statement at the end of the year.

On day one, Secrets AI is kinder. Its free plan gives you 20 messages daily, a one-time gift of 200 Moments at sign-up, and one free custom companion. Adult content is allowed without paying.

Candy AI's free account is a peek, not a start: the research figure is 5 messages overall, never topped up daily, and a 2026-09-22 look at a free account counted 3-5 messages and 3-5 images. Adult content waits for a plan.

Over a year, Candy AI is cheaper. Its 12-Month Plan works out to €3.99 a month, while Secrets AI's Premium yearly comes to $9.17 a month. That is a real gap, and I would not wave it away.

So my view is this. If you are not sure yet, Secrets AI lets you find out for free, and I like that a lot. If you are sure and want to pay as little as possible, few prices undercut Candy AI's yearly plan.

What bothers me on each side: Candy AI's free taste is too small to judge anything, and Secrets AI's free plan cannot buy Moments once the first 200 are gone.

If Secrets AI is the one you are leaning towards, my Secrets AI review with its Moments explained goes further. First, though, look at the grid right below, The two apps side by side. Pay the most attention to the group chat and custom character rows, since those tell you which plan you would really need on each app.

Which companion keeps hold of the details?

Both apps list memory, and neither is sold as a memory specialist. Secrets AI's free plan includes basic memory. Reviewers call it average overall, yet one test found a fact planted a week earlier still there. Candy AI does less well in reports: consistency holds for roughly 10-20 messages and can then drop details.

If a companion who remembers your week matters to you, I'd lean Secrets AI. If memory is all you care about, look past both, but between these two the reports point one way.

Making her yours: custom characters and group chats

Candy AI lists custom companions on every paid plan, which I like: you shape her yourself. Secrets AI gives one free custom companion and marks custom characters as limited. Its Ultimate plan adds group chats, personas and advanced customisation, so the full toolkit costs $39.99 a month. Candy AI has no group chat on file either way.

For deep customisation on a budget, Candy AI is my pick. For a cast of characters in one scene, only Secrets AI offers it, and only at the top price.

Pictures, video, voice and the content line

Both sell images and video on paid plans. Other reviewers praise Candy AI's images as highly realistic and consistent, though about 1 in 8 has visible errors with no free retry. Secrets AI's images are called decent but inconsistent, and a failed attempt still spends Moments. Its Advanced image model is said to look much better.

Voice is praised on both, with one reviewer calling Secrets AI's calls top-tier. On content, Secrets AI allows adult chat on every plan, and Candy AI only on paid plans. There is more on the picture side in my Candy AI review, images and tokens included.

How private and discreet is each one?

Here Secrets AI has the stronger story. Two independent scoring reviews rated its privacy and discretion 8.5-9/10, and reviewers also mention an anonymous sign-up and crypto payment option. The records hold no privacy policy details for Candy AI, so I can't score it the same way.

Both statement names are quiet: S LABS INC. for Secrets AI and EverAI for Candy AI. If discretion is your top concern, Secrets AI is the one I'd open first.

Candy AI: best value once you commit

Candy AI is run by EverAI Limited, registered in Malta, and it lives in your browser. It is a companion app first, with roleplay on the side, and every paid plan carries the same set of features. Only the billing length changes the price.

Custom companions are a full yes on every plan, a big plus if you'd rather shape a character around yourself than pick a preset.

That makes the maths easy. The 1-Month Plan is €13.99. The 3-Month Plan comes to €8.99 a month, billed €26.97. On the 12-Month Plan you pay €3.99 a month, billed €47.88, and that price reflects a 70% discount verified on 2026-09-23. Each plan includes unlimited text messages, custom companions, image and video generation, and 100 tokens a month.

The weak point is the start. By the research figure, a free account gets 5 messages, full stop, and the count never refills. That is not enough for me to judge a companion by. On top of that, adult content is closed until you pay.

So with Candy AI you are really deciding on a plan from the outside, which I don't love.

Reports on the paid side are good in places. Voice and phone calls get strong praise, and pictures are described as highly realistic. Memory is the sore spot, with details slipping after roughly 10-20 messages. Free replies are also said to be much slower than paid ones, 15-30 seconds against 3-5.

The refund rule is short: non-EU/UK users have 24 hours after payment to ask. My advice is to pick the 3-Month Plan if a whole year feels risky, and to decide within that first day. For more pairings with Candy AI on one side, see the complete list of app comparisons.

Secrets AI: the generous start with a Moments meter

Secrets AI comes from Secret Labs Inc. and is a web app. Its free plan is the one I'd point a curious reader to: 20 messages a day, all companions, basic memory and one free custom companion. New sign-ups also get a one-time 200 Moments, which is enough for about 4 images at roughly 50 Moments each. Adult content is allowed from the start.

Here is the catch I want you to see clearly. The free plan adds no Moments after that first 200, and you can't purchase more unless you subscribe. So the 20 daily messages go on, but images stop once the gift is spent. Fair enough to me, provided you don't count on the free pictures lasting.

Premium at $19.99 a month brings unlimited messaging, 8,000 Moments a month, image and video generation and premium models. At about 50 Moments per image, 8,000 Moments covers roughly 160 images. Step up to Ultimate at $39.99 and you get 15,000 Moments plus group chats, personas and advanced customisation. The yearly bills are $109.99 and $319.99.

The privacy side is where it stands out. Two independent scoring reviews rated its privacy and discretion 8.5-9/10. Video, on the other hand, is described as working but sometimes uncanny in motion.

Refunds are limited. There are no partial refunds for unused days, and all Moments purchases are final. Cancel whenever you like, either in account settings or with an email to support; the plan then runs until the period you paid for is over.

If you want to know how these facts are collected and dated, read how I check the apps on this site.

Each app's prices appear in the currency it bills in, with no conversion. Price sorting only compares apps that share a currency.

Candy AI bills in euros and Secrets AI in US dollars; both sell extra images through tokens or Moments.

The table above makes Candy AI look cheap, and for once the headline is not misleading. The same features come on every plan, and the 12-Month Plan works out to €3.99 a month. Secrets AI's cheapest paid route is Premium yearly at $109.99, which comes to $9.17 a month, or $19.99 if you pay monthly.

The extra currency is what changes the real bill. Candy AI includes 100 tokens a month, and images and video are paid features. Secrets AI's Premium includes 8,000 Moments a month, about 160 images at roughly 50 Moments each. On paper that is a lot more image budget for the money.

If reports are right that failed images still spend Moments, I'd assume the real number is a bit lower. The free side differs too: new Secrets AI accounts get a one-time 200 Moments, about 4 images, and no monthly top-up after that.

My rough split by type of use goes like this. Light chat only: Secrets AI free, because 20 messages a day beats anything Candy AI gives without paying. Regular chat with some pictures: Candy AI yearly, if you are happy to commit, or Secrets AI Premium yearly if you want more images.

Heavy use with group scenes: Secrets AI Ultimate, $39.99 monthly or $319.99 for the year, since Candy AI has no group chat on file.

As a long-term choice, I would skip Candy AI's 1-Month Plan (€13.99). It is fine for one month, but staying on it costs more than three times the yearly rate. For another pairing where coins shape the bill, my Candy AI vs OurDream AI comparison shows how Dreamcoins compare with Candy AI's tokens.

Before you pay either one, it is worth knowing how you leave. Secrets AI's checkout says it plainly: subscriptions renew automatically, you can cancel anytime in account settings, and there are no refunds for partial periods. You can also cancel by emailing support. A cancellation kicks in when the paid period runs out, and any Moments you bought are final. On the Free plan you cannot buy Moments at all, so a subscription is the first spend.

Candy AI also renews automatically, at the price and length shown at checkout. You cancel under Settings, then Unsubscribe, in your account. Users outside the EU and UK have 24 hours after payment to ask for a refund, and nothing after that.

I think Candy AI's 24 hours is the more useful rule, even though it is short. It gives you one real chance to change your mind, which Secrets AI's policy does not. On the statement, S LABS INC. and EverAI are both vague enough that neither names the app.

My advice: pay monthly first on Secrets AI, and on Candy AI decide on the first day if you go yearly.

My advice if you are still torn

If a friend asked me, I'd send them to Secrets AI first. Twenty free messages every day will tell you soon enough if the companion is right for you, and it costs nothing. Candy AI only makes sense once you already know you want to pay.

My short checklist for that friend:

  • Not sure yet? Secrets AI free, and use the 200 Moments slowly.
  • Sure, and want the cheapest year? Candy AI's 12-Month Plan.
  • Want lots of pictures each month? Secrets AI Premium, for its 8,000 Moments.
  • Discretion above all? Secrets AI, with the best privacy scores on this page.

One thing I'd stress: do not let the low Candy AI price push you into a year before you have seen enough. Its free taste is only a few messages, so you are buying on trust. If that makes you uneasy, the 3-Month Plan is a softer way in.

It costs €8.99 a month and gives you a whole season to decide whether the voice and pictures are worth a longer bill.

And if what they care about most is a daily free allowance and long memory, there is another pair worth reading. My Candy AI vs Nomi AI page puts Candy AI next to an app with 50 free messages a day, which some people will prefer to both of these.

Common questions

Is Secrets AI free to use?

Yes, on a Free plan with 20 messages a day, all companions, basic memory and one free custom companion. New sign-ups get a one-time 200 Moments, enough for about 4 images. After that, the Free plan adds no Moments and cannot buy any, so images need a paid plan. Adult content is allowed on the free plan.

Which is cheaper, Secrets AI or Candy AI?

Candy AI, if you pay for a year. Its 12-Month Plan works out to €3.99 a month, billed €47.88. Secrets AI's Premium yearly works out to $9.17 a month, billed $109.99, or $19.99 month to month. Secrets AI's Premium does include 8,000 Moments a month, while Candy AI includes 100 tokens.

Does Candy AI allow adult content on the free account?

No. Candy AI allows adult content only on paid plans. Secrets AI allows it on every plan, including Free. If you want to see how a companion handles mature themes before you pay, Secrets AI is the one that lets you.

Which app is more private?

The records favour Secrets AI. Two independent scoring reviews rated its privacy and discretion 8.5-9/10, and reviewers mention an anonymous sign-up and crypto payment option. There are no privacy policy details on file for Candy AI. Both statement names are discreet: S LABS INC. and EverAI.

Can I get a refund from either one?

Candy AI gives users outside the EU and UK 24 hours after payment to request a refund. Secrets AI offers no partial refunds for unused days, except as required by law or its policy, and all Moments purchases are final. I'd call Candy AI the more forgiving of the two here.

Does either app have group chat?

Secrets AI does, on its Ultimate plan at $39.99 a month, along with personas and advanced customisation. No group chat appears in Candy AI's listed features.
