Is OurDream AI down, or is it your coins?

• Up: the site answered, so the trouble is probably local to you, and the quick steps further down are the place to go.
• Slow: the site answered late. Heavy traffic can do that, and patience usually beats hammering the refresh button.

OurDream AI is a web app from Dream Studio USA, Inc., with roleplay, companion chat, group chat, custom characters, and paid image and video generation. My take on status boxes in general: treat the chip as a strong hint, and your own screen as the tiebreaker.

Then there is money. Standard Monthly costs $19.99 and Deluxe Monthly $59.99. Billed yearly, Standard Annual comes to $9.99 a month, with Deluxe Annual at $29.99. Any of those is real money for a service you cannot reach for an evening.

Here is what bothers me: nothing in the records mentions credit for downtime. The closest thing is the 14-day Quality Guarantee, which lets you contact support within 14 days of purchase for a case-by-case credit, replacement, rectification or refund.

That guarantee is fairer than what many apps in this space offer, and if an outage hit early in a new subscription, I'd use it. Just don't treat it as automatic. It is a request, and the answer is up to them.

Free users feel an outage differently. With 55 Dreamcoins to start and 1 Dreamcoin per message, each message counts, and the help centre says free dreamcoins are not currently offered. If a message fails during a hiccup, you may wonder where your coin went. The records don't say whether a failed message is charged, so I won't guess.

My advice is to stop sending into a stalled chat, because retrying over and over cannot help and may cost you.

If you are thinking of cancelling out of frustration, know how it works first. You cancel from your profile page with "Cancel subscription", then confirm, and the app stays open to you for the rest of the period you've paid. The refund policy also says you will not be charged for later periods after cancellation.

So there is no need to rush it in the middle of an outage, since you keep what you paid for either way.

A calmer move is to lower the cost of staying. My overall view: one outage is an annoyance, a pattern would be a reason to leave.

A server error, a failed connection or no reply within 10 seconds counts as Down. When the site rejects the request as a bot (HTTP 401, 403 or 429), the result is Unknown, which is never treated as Down.

It can't see your account, your coin balance or your browser, so the site can answer while image generation or voice calls fail. Checking only twice a day also means a brief outage can slip through unseen, and any result past 14 hours old carries an Out of date mark. When the chip and your screen disagree, I'd trust your screen and use the steps below.

OurDream AI's only official help channel on record is its help centre at help.ourdream.ai, and no status page is on file.

• Open a different website. If that is slow too, your connection is the problem, not OurDream AI.
• Look at your Dreamcoin balance. On the free side each message costs 1 Dreamcoin, and an empty balance can pass for a broken chat.
• Reload the tab, or close the browser fully and open it again. It is the cheapest fix there is, and often the one that works.
• Try another browser, or a private window, to rule out an extension or old stored site data.
• Switch to a different character. If one chat fails and others work, the trouble is that chat, not the whole service.

If none of that helps, waiting is the honest answer. I would not change account settings or cancel anything while the service is unsteady. All of that can wait until things settle down.

If your balance falls faster than you expected, that's a likely cause, so glance at your coins now and then while you talk.

Video is the third. Deluxe lists 50 videos, and video generation is where coin-heavy features live. If a video won't start, look at your balance and your plan before blaming the servers.

Nomi AI has a permanent free plan with 50 messages a day, which makes it a low-cost backup. GirlfriendGPT offers in-chat images from its Premium plan at $15.00 a month.

I'd pick the backup by what you miss most. Missing the pictures points to Candy AI, and missing a chat that costs nothing points to Nomi AI. GirlfriendGPT sits between them, with a small free start and a mid-priced paid plan.

The free side is where I'd temper expectations. The research value is 5 messages for the life of the account, never topped up daily, and a dated check on 2026-09-22 counted 3-5 messages and 3-5 images, with no video. The content policy keeps adult content for paying members. So as an emergency stand-in, the free account gives you a glimpse, not a full evening.

Pricing is friendlier than OurDream AI's if you commit. The 1-Month Plan costs €13.99, below Standard Monthly at $19.99, although one bills in EUR and the other in USD. The 12-Month Plan at €47.88 works out to €3.99 a month, thanks to a 70% discount on record on 2026-09-23.

I like that price a lot, but I'd only take it if Candy AI is going to be more than a stopgap. A backup you pay a year for is really a second main app.

Two rules to know before paying. Outside the EU and UK, you have one day from payment to ask for a refund, far tighter than OurDream AI's 14-day Quality Guarantee. And subscriptions renew automatically at the price disclosed at checkout. Cancelling is simple: Settings / Unsubscribe in your account.

My honest advice is to decide on a calm day, not during an outage. Look at the status box again later, give it a day, and view the backups above with fresh eyes. Whatever you pick, pick it because it suits you, not because one evening went wrong.
